  1. Good to know. I'll check the EZair prices at 60 days out because by that time I should know which airline I'll be booking with.
  2. With Air Transat a regular standard economy gives you a free checked bag per person but you still need to pay for the seats. They have options where for an added cost, the seats are cheaper and you get a few advantages. The fare with Air Transat plus the added option comes out to less than what EZair quoted. We've never had problems with Air Transat but we have had some with Air Canada. Our favourite airline is Air France but they're very expensive, at least for our budget.
  3. Thanks but we've never flown in BC or PE and would rather spend the money saved on other things. That being said, after checking the bookings I made with EZair on the Air Transat app, I saw that it was for a low budget fare where I'd have to pay not only for my seats but for luggage as well. After calculating the extras, I would pay much more with EZair as opposed to the airline. Reluctantly, I canceled it.
  4. That's what I menant when I said 2025. We've never had problems getting into Europe especially France or Spain as DW is fluent in both languages and I in French & get by with Spanish..
  5. My son works for RBC, I wonder if he can get us a discounted price.
  6. True but it looks like it won't happen until at least 2025.
  7. I got an online quote from RBC for interruption and cancellation for a reasonable price compared to the cost of other companies. Beware as some quotes will only cover interruptions and not cancellation as well. As a matter of fact, full coverage including medical & baggage allowance is still a pretty good price compared to others.
  8. Good to hear, the less hassles we have to travel, the better it is.
  9. What does that mean for our European cruise next year? Will our Canadian passports be accepted like in the past?
  10. We're still saving money on the bottle with the 25% discount. We can always buy wine by the glass and I believe the tip is covered.
  11. In the long run, I'm still saving money even if they add the tip. I can always have several glasses of wine instead of a bottle since I'm allowed up to 15 drinks per day and I believe the tip is covered here.
  12. Maybe but I got a transcript of my conversation with the rep where he states that the tip for the bottle of wine is included. Have you had a Plus Package?
  13. I think your confusing things. According to the Princess website and to an agent I spoke to, drinks up yo $15 are free with Plus and all tips are also included. There is a 25% discount on bottles of wine and the tip on those bottles of 18% is also included. This is a screen shot from their website.
  14. Thanks. On the Princess website it does specify that Plus takes care of the tips. Actually it states...."whatever you want. Tips included." I assume bottles of wine as well.
  15. Does that mean that with Plus the 18% tip is covered for any drink under $15? Does Plus also cover the 18% tip on bottles of wine?
  16. Finally, t got an answer and yes the tips are included. I got a transcript of the conversation which I'll bring with me, just in case. Thanks for your info.
  17. The person I'm chatting with does even know the basic inclusions in a Plus package. I'm wasting my time with them.
  18. I'm on a chat right now with a Princess rep, we'll see what they say.
  19. I should of checked before responding but on the Princess website it says that tips are included.
  20. Are you stating that I still have to pay 18% tip even with Plus?
  21. Thanks, thats what I figured the prices would be. In that range I can pretty much average $50 per bottle. Since I'm getting 25% off of that with Plus then I figure a bottle would cost me about $37.50 net since Plus covers the 18% as well. Again based on a $50 bottle of wine. Am I wrong with my calculations?
  22. Then are the price lists I've found for 2023 wrong? Where can I get a current list?
  23. By saying that Princess is marking up their wines by at least $40 I'm rather confused as I've searched 2023 Princess wine prices and they go from $45 to $50 per bottle. Am I missing something?
  24. Stupid question, I think. Does the Plus show up prior to full payment or only after you paid for the cruise? I asked my TA to add it but I don't see it if I go to the cruise personalizer on the Princess website. Would it show on the Medaillon APP? My booking is for August 2024.
  25. The red wines I've seen on recent posted wine lists average $45 to $50 per bottle and cocktails also average at $10. According to my calculations for alcoholic beverages including wine, I'd be paying around $400 just for tips. Factoring this added expense, I'd be paying less for the Plus and also getting more. I bought US just a week ago and paid $1.38.
