    You hit it on the head. She was always right there when I had an issue on a trip. We are using Princess air for the first time and my concern now is that she may not contact me immediately if there are changes. That seems to be the latest thing with our flights lately - full flights, delayed flights, cancelled flights. Issues like that is really why I use her.

    Will she be there for me?? I really think so - that's why I hate to toss her out.

  2. You are correct. I do do all the work. And I hate the fact that Princess won't talk to me because I use a TA. She also charges me the same price as Princess - once in awhile her home office has a group rate but not often. And last cruise our cabin cost $20,000 and she only gave me $300 worth on OBC.

     

    I don't need her!!! I need a drink!

     

    I don't need a TA.

     

    Now, just help me tell her I don't want to keep my upcoming bookings with her. How in the heck can I get out of them??? and not hurt her feelings!

  3. I probably should call her more often but I hate to bother her. I email because I want to give her a chance to find the answer before I talk to her. I do have her cell number but most of this stuff hasn't been that urgent. She does have an answering service and does turn it over to another agent when she is gone.

     

    I seriously have been thinking of finding a new one. I do book many cruises myself online the day the new ones come out and then transfer them to her.

  4. I have four upcoming Princess cruises that I booked through my TA of 10 years. I have found over the past six months that she doesn't reply to my questions very fast or at all. We just booked three cabins over Christmas and I was very frustrated because I couldn't get my answers right away. When I get around to do some planning, I like to know what I am dealing with and not have to put my files away for days. My wife tells me to be patient but three days is more than enough time I think. She advertises that she is available to clients 7 days a week. I have spent a great deal of money with her. We always have a suite and if we bring the kids or grandchildren, that can be two or three more cabins.

    My questions range from

    asking her to book a cruise and I give her the ship, date and cabin or cabins numbers we want - I do all the work. I do get upset but have never said anything to her when a cabin is sold before she books it.

    Other questions are about flights she has booked through the ship and something is wrong with it.or something that is wrong on the personalizer.

    Mainly they are things that I need answered before I can go on with my planning

    I don't want to be too specific since I think she comes her.

     

    My wife keeps telling me to tell her that I am upset but when we talk she apologizes for taking so long - always has a different reason and she is really nice and I don't want to hurt her feelings.

     

    So, how long is too long?? thanks

    thanks for explaining that. Never thought about it that way. I know my wife doesn't take a purse out to dinner much anymore. She doesn't want to leave it on the dirty floor or over the back of my chair. And would never set it on the table or counter. I get stuck carrying lipstick for her.

     

    But, being on a cruise ship and going to dinner is different. Why do guys even need to wear one to dinner on a ship when they are just going to be inside?

     

    Like a Nascar race - they have to announce "gentlemen, please take your hats off". People should know better.

    I didn't want to call Princess since I get that "if you used a TA, you need to contact us," so I was planning to give her a call later this afternoon. I just wanted to have a chance to review what is available and tell her what I want.

     

    I really should just book everything myself since I do all the research and planning.

  8. The option was available for our cruise on Sept.,but it no longer shows up on the personalized,only round trip.I have a call into our TA.

     

    That is what is happening to me.

     

    I plan to have my TA book it for me but I like to have the info in front of me so I can see exactly what I am booking and what choices I have. It is still four months away.

  9. I usually do my own air but will let my TA take care of it this time. Several weeks ago I was looking at my personalizer and thought I'd check prices before asking my TA to (just like I do cruises). I found the place where you mark one way. I thought it was under search criteria but it just is not there. Been gone a couple weeks on a cruise and want to get my flights book BUT I can not find where to mark one way. I have been working on this 1 1/2 hours and it is driving me nuts. I know it is there somewhere.

  10. Princess needs to grow a pair and enforce their own rules!

     

    That is for sure!!!!

     

    My wife is ready to write Princess a letter on this subject but probably won't because nothing will come of it.

     

    Is it just our society these days?

     

    We prefer longer cruises but then you get a different set of issues - a lot of "well" seasoned cruisers that think they should get "special" treatment because they have cruises so much. My wife has done a little research and it seems that the majority of those people always book insides and constantly want price drops even when it is for new bookings or after final payment and then get them - again Princess doesn't follow their rules. These people never spend an extra dime on anything and complain about everything. They are constantly looking for reasons to ask for an OBC.

     

    I am afraid that this is just a sign of the times. I could write a short story just from our last round trip flight about rude passengers. I had to hold my wife down twice because she was so upset and I was afraid she might get kicked off the plane if she spoke up. She thought she would receive applause some the other passengers but I did not want to risk it.

     

    So, any suggestions who we could write to that would listen?

  11. Thanks for all the fast replies. Forgot about their sales and getting the elite 10% is a nice bonus.

     

    I saw the Macy's ad. My wife went shopping last week while I read a book in the car. She was back in no time. I asked what was up and she said "TOO many people - damn - is that a sign of old age?" We also live over a hour from Macy's and not sure if we will have time to run in.

     

    We have stopped traveling in the winter unless the roads are dry or we really need to go in and we really aren't that old. Yesterday we were delayed because of an accident. A poor guy hit a guard rail because of black ice. He got out of his car to see what the damages were and was hit by a pickup truck and killed. Half the people are writing in and saying it is the fault of the city because they didn't have enough salt down. As we were stopped on the three lane road, five cars went flying by us on the shoulder (and I mean flying). Everyone is in such a hurry these days and don't slow down. Hate driving in the winter and never drive the first three snowfalls of the year. Many years ago they use to put sand down and everyone knew to go slow.

  12. Years and years ago we use to purchase all our fragrances while on vacation in the islands but now wait until Kohl's has their 30% off sales but coco mademoiselle is not sold there. My wife's friend wears it and I think she would like some. Just wondering if I should wait until we are on the ship to buy her some or just get it at Macy's.

     

    Has anyone seen it on the ships?

    One question:

    never used this site. So thought I'd check it out and I just tried to search for a one way ticket to FLL and this is what popped up:

     

    The search failed with Exceeded Boombox request quota.

     

    Never have run across this before. What does it mean?

  14. While I know this applies to the Island....I just looked at the new deck plans and on the Emerald deck, there are two aft doors and and an aft viewing deck still in place.....

     

    Yes, I checked on that and my source said that the Emerald small aft deck is staying

    BUT

    you never know what will happen between now and April. Just like the Royal's owners suites. I had one booked for a year, then I looked at my personalizer one day and my cabin number was not the same. And the deck plans were different in the aft. They moved me to one of the side suites when they decided to reconfigure those back cabins. Luckily I got my OS back - oh wait - no, I probably would have been happier on the side where there wasn't any soot.

     

    Just saying, they haven't started building so there still could be changes.

  15. Really appreciate all your replies and especially the pictures. I always hate to look like an idiot. My wife will always ask people but you know guys, we never want to admit we don't know where we are going. She usually tells me where to go since she keeps an eye on the preferred line vs the regular line.

     

    Loved the comment "the photographers will try to get your pic taken". Maybe on a "first" cruise but we usually don't look our best when we first board and have no plans to ever purchase those types of pictures so why waste their time.

  16. I have a b2b on her next fall and am considering canceling. Not happy at all about the changes. Why not just raise the prices a little. I'd pay more than have to put up with more people. I hate the mega ships. and someone brought up a good point about extra staff - where are they going to live? And what about life boats?

  17. I always hate the first time I go somewhere. Never know which direction to go.

    Just wondering if there is any type of a map that shows what is what at the terminal. Sometimes the people working there tell you the wrong thing - maybe they don't understand the question or whatever. I hate it when people in front of you just stop in the middle of the sidewalk or whatever to talk or look for something in their bag and you can't get around them. (heck, people do that all over) Lots of confusion.

     

    I'd love to see a map like they have in malls so you have some idea of where you're suppose to be heading.
