We just got off the Breakaway this past Sunday, and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Ridgefield Park, NJ.
Great hotel with breakfast included, parking for when you're on the cruise, and free shuttle to and from the port.
When you arrive at the hotel, they will give you a form to fill out, and you can choose what time you want to be picked up.
We chose 10:15, and the driver arrived a little early, and we were at the port by about 10:35.
The nice thing was, we had our own car, and didn't have to wait for other people. Depending how many people are with you will depend on what type of vehicle they send.
On return, they gave us a card with a phone number, which we called when we got through customs. They also called me while we were still waiting to get off the ship, so they had an idea when we might disembark.
You have to cross the street and wait for your ride. There were a lot of people waiting for rides there.
Highly recommend for the price and ease of getting to and from the port.
Hope that helps!

Wow!! That is awesome :D
My son would absolutely love it if we were made one like that (and me too, just a little :p)

Will be on the same cruise!
Time to start packing :D

BirdTravels, while you provide some good information your report seems a bit sterile. The edgiest thing I've seen is the pictures of the barbaric wench dunking. It might help me if you provided more personalized information regarding your thoughts about service, fellow passenger makeup, Haven conditions, ... and ship specific comparisons to your many previous NCL sailings.
I think she is doing an awesome job, as she is doing this while on vacation.
She certainly didn't have to share any of this with us while trying to enjoy herself.
Thank you so much BirdTravels for so much info, I certainly appreciate it [emoji4]

Thanks for the pictures and the review.
Less than 2 weeks now...
Enjoy the rest of your cruise!

Thanks! Really enjoyed reading your review.
We have plans in June to see the Cirque show. Do you remember how far in advance you needed to line up to get good seats?

I just paid our's online last week through NCL.

Obviously your back didn't receive the memo about behaving while on vacation :(
Seriously, hope you feel better soon and can take advantage of room service!

Hi seadog, I really hate to ask, but would you by chance have a copy of the dailies for today?
So far your review is awesome, and really can't wait for June 11th!
Thanks so, so much for doing this review :D

Hey no apologies needed. We are happy with whatever you are able to share. It's your vacation, so enjoy. We are just along for the ride!

Ditto that! You are already doing an amazing job, and I'm sooo impressed you even have music to your videos :D
Please remember to relax, we'll all still be here whenever you have a chance to post :)

Following....Have an awesome cruise, and thanks for doing this.
If you can get some pics of the freestyle dailies, that would be great!

> married to a wait to the "last minute" kind of guy,
Why do we organized people always wind up with those partners? I mused "Two weeks from now I'll be finishing up last minute packing." DH responded "I'll start packing at midnight of the day we leave." I told him if everything wasn't packed and in the car in time for me to get a good night's sleep, I'd be making this cruise as a widow!
LMBO! Thanks for the laugh :D

I'm not sure what or where the 2nd stop is that you are referring to; but for the public bus (route #7), as you board, politely ask the bus driver to drop you at the bus stop closest to the Warwick Beach access road. Easy peasy.

Thanks so much!

I believe I had read in someone's review, that when taking the #7 bus to Warwick that we should get off at the 2nd stop if wanting to walk back to Horseshoe? Does that sound correct?

Was curious about how long it took to go by the Statue of Liberty and get to the Verrazano Bridge.
Will be leaving in June on the Breakaway, and departure time is 4PM.
TIA!

Reason I was asking, is that we won't be able to get to St. George until about 5PM.
We have an excursion in the AM, and the ferry schedule to St. George at that time is only every 2 hours.
We wanted to look around there (maybe take a carriage ride) then take the bus to Hamilton to get to the ferry.
This would be a Wednesday night when the have the Hamilton nights, and ferries run a little later.
If by chance we missed the ferry, just wanted to know how much the taxi would cost to get back to the ship
-
Does anyone know the approximate price of a taxi from Hamilton to the Dockyard?
TIA!

Looks like your room has cabins above and below it, so you shouldn't have any problems with noise.
Maybe the poster from 4 years ago put in the wrong room number?
Never heard of hearing noise unless it was directly above or below your room.

Thanks so much for posting. Really appreciate it! Glad you had a good time.

Thanks everyone, am going to change my reservation! We've left from NYC before, and I sure don't want to miss the beautiful sights. My DS doesn't remember it, so sure don't want him to miss it 😁
Thanks again for all your replies!

On our last cruise on the BA, we were able to stay outside and go under the bridge, and there were plenty of seats available when we got to the show.
I'm assuming you went to the 5:45 show?
What time do you think you got there?
Thanks!
-
Yes, don't forget you'll have Muster Drill too.
Thanks, glad am figuring this out now!

We will be on the Breakaway this June going to Bermuda, and the ship leaves at 4PM.
Hadn't thought about it until now, but I have booked the Cirque Dreams show for 5:45 that evening. From what I've read it's advisable to get in line an hour before for decent seats.
So, will we miss the Statue of Liberty and Verrazano bridge if we have to be in line at 4:45?
If so, thinking of changing the reservation.
TIA!

It's non-refundable OBC but you use it toward the cruise next certificate itself. So 1 costs $150 ( $250 minus $100 OBC), 2 cost $250 ($500 minus $250 OBC).
That's great info! Thanks so much :D

Breakaway to Bermuda with kids

There are 2 shows that you can pre book.
One is Rock of Ages, which is not appropriate for your age kids. Not sure I would have let my 14 year old watch it, if he had wanted to.
The other show is Burn the Floor, which is all sorts of dancing. My husband and I thought it was terrific, and would be appropriate for your kids if they liked watching that sort of thing.
They also have a crew talent show on the last afternoon onboard, which you don't need to book.
They now have a magician on the last evening which I'm sure you're kids would love on the last evening. You can't book this one, but make sure you arrive early, as I got there 20 minutes before show time, and almost all the seats were taken.
Hope this helps a little!
