  1. Yep 90 days and twice a day :)

I love NCL and wrote this post about things you should know before cruising with them, as this is your first NCL cruise this may be of use: http://cruisingisntjustforoldpeople.co.uk/2016/12/04/8-things-i-wish-i-knew-before-cruising-with-ncl/

Have a fabulous time!! The Breakaway is a gorgeous ship, lots of photos of her on that link too.

Thanks for your reply. Have taken 6 cruises on Carnival and one on Celebrity, and with the promo going on right now, made sense to try NCL.

We like to drive from NC to the ship we're going on, and have tried most of the Carnival ships that sail in the summer near us.

My 14 year old son is disappointed that he won't get his points on Carnival, as he turned Gold last year..lol..

Looks like lots of things for him to do on the Breakaway, and that's what I was looking for :)

    Thanks again :D

  2. Hi! I'm new to NCL and have booked a cruise to Bermuda on the Breakaway for June.

I know it's a while off, but was wondering when they opened the reservations to book for specialty dining and some shows?

Also was wondering if they made up the rooms once or twice a day?

    Thanks in advance!

  3. We are considering booking the Breakaway in June to Bermuda.

Does anyone know which side they dock on, so I can choose whether I want to be facing the ocean or land?

I know some ports it depends on the weather or whether other ships are in port, but wasn't sure if that applied to Bermuda.

    Thanks!

  4. Ooh, I love this idea!!!! Can you provide more info? As you got them a few years ago, I am sure they are no longer at Target. However, if you provide a manufacturer name, I may find on eBay. Any info you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I live in NC, and saw them in my local Target a few days ago.

    Good luck :)

  5. Our 1st cruise with our kids was on the Pride about 6years ago out of Baltimore.

We sailed at the beginning of November, and had to try and avoid a hurricane!

We never missed any ports, but the ship, was rocking and rolling

I turned green for awhile, but my kids were totally fine and thought it was fun..lol..

So, hurricanes can happen anytime, and the ship will just go around them.

Hope your cruise is wonderful, and you become an addict like the rest of us :p

  6. My son who is 13 will be turning gold this cruise, and is very excited, as I got mine last cruise (when I was Boarding, and he was envious :)

So, yes she will get it upon embarkation!

    Have a great cruise!

  7. eBay is currently doing $20 off of any order $200 or more with promo code CCNCMBQ216

Combine that with buying an ebay gift card here for $11 off http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2354848

Total savings will be $31 on a $200 gift card, with $20 left in eBay gift card

Before I click on the button to try and buy the gift cards, wanted to find out if you apply it all to your S&S card, and I don't use it all, do you loose it or do they give any remainder back to you. Thanks!

  8. I would think that those of you that think that she's being selfish, have not dealt with someone with depression. It is a disease, and they can't see any other way out when they think of suicide. My son tried last year overdosing (wasn't quite 18) and trust me they are not trying to hurt their families and friends, but don't see any worth in themselves.

Thankfully my son survived and is doing fairly well. Who knows what was going on in this woman's life, but I'm fairly sure she wasn't trying to ruin anyone's vacation. Please don't judge her, when we have no clue as to what was going in her life and how much she may have been suffering.

I hope her family and friends find some closure and peace.

  9. Has anyone stayed in a balcony on deck 6? I recently booked the Magic and chose a deck 6 balcony and thinknow the made a huge mistake.

I just realized that we probably won't have the ability to see directly down to the water. [emoji22]

Now I am wondering if I should have chosen a cove balcony instead.

I'm booked in a cove balcony for a June sailing on the Magic.

What I have read, is to be careful which cove you choose, as some of them are directly below the galley and can apparently be noisy.

    Have a great cruise :)

  10. Sorry to hear that you couldn't enjoy your balcony as much as you should have been able to because of some Crazy Canucks :p I can say that as I'm originally from Montreal! That's always my biggest worry, that I will have loud neighbors. It's too bad they couldn't make those doors quieter when they shut. The ukulele was definitely Way over the top, what were they thinking!?! Glad the rest of your cruise was good.
