  1. hi! going on the freedom for my first cruise on 7/5/15. i have done tons and tons of research and so i know that for the excursions, i want a waterproof bag that we can carry our passports, money, and camera in. i want one that i can carry on me at all times, either as a wristlet or around my waist. therefore, it needs to be able to get wet. i would love one that i can swim with on but dont know if thats a possibility. i have looked at a ton of different waterproof bags such as dry pak and lots of others and was just curious if any cruisers could tell me the exact bag that worked for them. again, i want something that will fit 4 people's passports, cash, 4 seapass cards, and a camera.

    thank you!

  2. hi! going on my first cruise on the freedom of the seas, western, in july! i was trying to budget my money and four out of the five excursions do not come with food. I am going to be going to labadee, falmouth, jamaica, and grand cayman islands. I was wondering the options for food at these stops around the dock/where the ship docks. Are there many options? What are the choices like and the prices? Do you have to pay using your seapass card or can you use cash or debit?

    Thank you for any help!!!

  3. I was wondering if anybody knew if you could come this excursion in Labadee. I dont want to book ahead of time because we're going to just play it by ear at this stop but was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to book this excursion while there. Thanks for any help!

  4. This seems almost unethical that a cruise line would expect ANYBODY to sleep on that. I am not handicapped in any way, shape, or form, but if I saw that 'bed" in my room I would throw a fit.

This makes me nervous about my upcomign cruise on Freedom. This is my first cruise EVER and we are sleeping three to a room but now I am nervous that chair/bed thing will be in my room. My room is listed as with a sofa bed but I am going to cry if that chair bed shows up in my room.

  5. So I am going to Labadee on my cruise on the freedom of the seas. I know there are multiple beaches, but which one would you prefer? I am aware that Labadee is rocky so we will be bringing water shoes. My plan for this day is to just relax and play it by ear. We may do the trampoline park, zipline, or paraglide, but we are planning on deciding when we get there. Is this possible? We have three other ports on my cruise and this will be the only stop we dont have a excursion almost all day. I wou;d just like to be at nice beach where we are around most of the activities mentioned above so that we can do one if we wish. Also, how far of a walk would it be if you know? Thanks for the help!

  6. My husband and I were in Ocho Rios via the Carnival Glory... and we went to visit the Blue Hole! We wanted to do something different! We LOVED it! I spent time researching it and I found a tour company called "Liberty Tours". You can find reviews for them on Trip Advisor. All the things that are said in those reviews are true! If you email them and get in touch with Ricardo... you won't regret it! When I emailed him.. he responded the same day. He even called me twice to talk about any concerns I had and to explain everything. This tour is very safe and you will not miss your ship! They make sure to get you to the port at the time you give them. When you speak with Ricardo.. you can plan your tour.. so you can do whatever you'd like! Our group went to the Blue Hole, stopped for some beef patties, checked out a spot with a great view to have a drink, went to a place called Scotchies for some Authentic Jamaican Jerk Chicken and then did a little shopping. The place he took us to for shopping was a little store where they gave us great deals on everything. No hassle, no pressure. When you're at the Blue Hole.. there are different spots you can jump off of. There is also the rope swing. I jumped off most of the spots. But there were people who did not want to. They were still able to hang out in the falls, swim and take pictures. The guides were friendly... and held our phones and cameras and took pictures for us. Everyone in the group enjoyed themselves! :)

Thank you SO MUCH!!! I have one last question...when you go into the cave and underneath the waterfall, is that scary? Do you have to go underneath anything or go under water at all? If you give me more details on that that would be greattT!!!!

  7. Had anybody been on this excursion? This looks more my style than the dunns waterfall. However this is my first cruise and I have a lot of anxiety about missing the ship or something bad happening. Is this a safe tour? What do you do on it? Can you only swim in the water if you jump.off the cliff or swing on the rope? Please only post if you've been on it thanks!

  8. thank you everyone!! I feel a lot less confused :) and YES, we of course we will be flying in early...i think actually two days early. I have way too much anxiety to risk missing the cruise!!

I have one last question: i have read that the time you are to be back at the ship on port days is according to the ship's time and not the local time, correct? If so, how do you usually keep track of the time? Just a watch set to the cruise's time? And how will we know the cruise's time? Are there a lot of clocks on the ship? And this is the last question I promise...how far in advance do we need to be back at the ship to avoid having the ship leave without us??!

  9. So after MONTHS of researching, I have finally booked my FIRST cruise to the western caribbean on the Freedom of the Seas leaving july 5th 2015! I decided to look an oceanview room with a window towards the front of the ship! However, now I have some very random questions...

    1) I have heard that after you book, if the price for the cruise goes down, that will reflect on what you have left to pay. However, I have paid for the cruise in full. Would I get a credit if the price of the cruise goes down, or is that just the risk I am taking by paying in full? Just wondering!

    2) I have a good amount of questions on the process of boarding the ship. Is there somewhere that will tell us more information when the cruise gets closer?

    3) Still for boarding: How soon can you get on the ship? I have read many different places that it is best to get on asap but how will I know when that is? Is it like an airport when you need to be there 2 hours later? So, if I want to be in the ship by 2 pm, should I be there by noon?

    4) As for towels needed during excursions, will this be provided by the cruise ship, or do I need to bring my own for those days? The cruise I am going on has ports 4 days in a row, and since me and my family have never really been on vacation we are planning to leave the ship as early as possible and return as late as possible. Just wondering the towel issue!

    5) I was also wondering what advice anybody has for what to carry everything in during the excursions. And where do you put your bag/purse/whatever you bring while doing water activities/any activities?

That's all the questions I have for now!! Cruising is exciting but oh so confusing. Thanks much!!!!

  10. Should have mentioned ship, I'm booking the freedom of the seas. I don't think I want to be on deck 2 or 3 so i guess the least expensive ocean view room is out. So I guess I am deciding whether to be in a room at the front of the ship or a interior room. Is there a huge difference between interior room and room with a window? On the freedom?
