  1. I am getting ready to book and I chose a outside stateroom with a window, the Large Oceanview Stateroom. As I am choosing my exact room, I am noticing that these rooms are only on the front of the ship. I am a little worried about being sea sick and all the advice I have seen has said to be midship, which this obviously is not. Would it be better to choose the smaller oceanview stateroom to not be on the front of the ship, or will this be fine? Please be specific with your advice, thanks.

  2. Hey there, I have a first time cruiser and booking my cruise soon to take advantage of the current sale! However, I have a few questions before..

FYI: I will be going on the Freedom of the Seas (Royal Caribbean) to the Western Caribbean July 2015.

    1) If I decide not to pay the gratuity at the time of booking, can I still pre-pay before boarding? My plan is to pay sometime within the next year before I leave. Is that possible?

    2) I don't think we will get sea sick but we honestly have no idea. Therefore, I want to try to avoid that. I know people said stay mid-ship and the lower decks...what decks would that be?

    3) Is there a deck that is better than the others? What deck should I stay on?

    4) I am looking at outside rooms. I don't think the balcony is worth the price for us. I know there are two different type of outside rooms...what are the differences between the two?

The more detail, the better. I am so clueless :)

  3. I have a question: what do you bring with you during excursions? I assume you would need your seapass card, cash, a towel, sunscreen, etc...do you bring a bag with you? If so, where do you put the bag while swimming in the ocean, but especially during excursions? I am planning on going to stingray city, dunns waterfalls, dolphin cove, etc....where do you put your bags during these excursions? HELP!

  4. Thanks everyone! I'd LOVE to cruise on allure or oasis, but the iternaries are better with freedom. I can't seem to find a western caribbean cruise in my time frame with allure or oasis that goes to the grand cayman islands, but im going to keep looking!! Allure or Oasis is my goal at this point :)

any thoughts of which is better or does it not matter?

  5. Hmm. Thank you for all the responses. I guess I am still confused haha...some of you say to go in summer and it will be fine, others say to not. I will say this:

-Money does not matter to me. Like I said, I do not have a lot of money and so this will most likely be my only cruise. My last vacation like this was over 10 years ago. Therefore, I don't care if I have to pay more for December/Summer fares. That does not matter to me. What matters is the quality of the cruise. I dont want to pay less and have the weather crap.

-I am ONLY interested in the Caribbean, either southern vs. western.

Thank you all for the input! At this point I think I will go in summer just because I only have a week off of work in December and don't want to feel rushed. I am hoping if I go in early July the weather will be okay. Any suggestions on this? Is there an area of the Caribbean that would have less hurricanes?

Above all, I would LOVE to hear from anybody who has traveled to the caribbean during summer months! I would love to read reviews for summer month cruises!

Again, thanks all for your help!
  6. We are for sure going to western carriibbean. I was going to book end of june or beginning of july but i am just nervous about hurricanes or even it rainign a lot! I just want as perfect weather as i can get. so would it better to go in december or how is the weather in western caribbean during summer months? thanks for any help guys!!
  7. So I am planning my first ever cruise right now, there are SO many questions...but right now the main one is, is summer not a great time to cruise? I will be going with my mom and sister, and my mom and I are both teachers so summer would be the best time to go. However, this will be our first and only cruise. We do not have the disposable income to go on expensive vacations like this, so I need it to be as perfect as possible. Should we go in summer (june or july) or in december during our school's break (during christmas time)? thanks for any help
