You are one of the most informed contributors to this board, so I really accept your point. Wondering what factors contribute to their "delight." Would be surprised to hear it is rave reviews from guests.

Thank you for the kind words..much appreciated..

Very upscale Appleby's. Noisy atmosphere. Food is pretty good. Fine alternative to dining in GDR for a night or two, but NOT really a "special" specialty restaurant. Nowhere near a really neat experience one looks forward to like Jacque or Red Ginger. Clearly a mistake on Oceania's part.

Oceania does not feel it was a mistake...they are very delighted with Ember..

    😂I love thinking

Truthfully I admire that you think..some people think and some do..I am the one that does and at times have realized maybe I should have given it more thought.before making a decision..Have a fabulous cruise whatever your thinking helps you decide..

Hmmm. Well if there is a preponderance of bad or good reviews, or if a certain aspect of the cruise line is commented upon often enough, that at least to me, is worth considering. I’m hopeful some people will have some helpful comments. Thank you for your input.

Why bother considering go back on Viking..Then you done have to waste your time thinking about it ..

I was sitting with the concierge on Regatta many years ago when pirates were chasing Nautica..Oceania had Mossad agents on board, high power hoses and horns that mad awful noises..they did not board her but it was scary for the two of us  that were listening

Everyone was in their cabins..I hope someone may talk about it now as it was a full ship..

We felt the need to make a complaint after a recent cruise where an issue was unable to be dealt with to our satisfaction onboard.

But it has no been 12 days since that complaint and we have heard nothing. Just wondering what anyone else's experience has been in the same situation?

    Thanks.

Is it possible to give us the details and ship.. so we can tell you the correct person to write  to??

I think my point was that if you were booked on this journey, that is now nine sea days in an area of concern, and you were offered a FCC that was rescinded, who do you recommend that they write to?  How and who do you recommend?

OK if you insist on writing someone it would have be Harry Sommer,(go to the top) who I am sure is the  one that said no in the first place..he is the ONLY one that can make that decision..he took FDRs place as CEO reach him or his assistant at  NCL executive offices

What is your recommendation on what these travelers should do?  Who do you recommend that they contact?

As i said, they know all of this before we do..why do you feel you have to write to them or do anything..believe me they keep  very close tabs on any problems in the world..!! They are just as concerned with your safety as you are..

I sent the earlier article about drone strikes + threats of attacks to Oceania CEO and others. Could you send this one? Good for them to hear from different voices.
    cortega@oceaniacruises.com

    fdelrio@oceaniacruises.com

What a waste of your time..they know all this way before you do!! Then it goes in the round file..Carlos has nothing to do with the ships and Frank is out of the country..

Actually, we were booked on a Celebrity Cruise and they had to change the embarkation port at the last minute. It threw a lot of people for a loop because they did it three days before our departure and we were originally scheduled to leave from Sydney. Like many people we had planned to go in early and Celebrity gave people the option of cancelling outright for a full refund including airfare and early hotels, they also gave an additional cruise credit on top of the one we cancelled.  They were amazing to all of us. They did not have to do anything and they bent over backwards to ensure we were all happy. We rebooked two cruises with them and had a fabulous time.

Hmmm. I hope the website (somewhere) clearly states the cancellation policy when doing an online booking. If the first time you see/read this information on your invoice, it’s already too late? Is there a cooling off period during which you can change your mind (i.e., cancel)?
If you spoke with someone and asked for a courtesy hold, fine. Read the (courtesy hold) invoice. But, if you pulled the trigger already……..? OUCH!

Why would you deposit without reading your invoice 1st????

I am sailing from Bangkok in February.  We are arriving in Bangkok a week prior to the sailing.  The first night of the sailing is an overnight in Bangkok.  My son will be in Bangkok at the same time and we are all meeting his GF’s family.  He is leaving Bangkok for home two days before we board Riveria.   I would like to fly to Siam Reap to see Angkor Wat the day he leaves, stay two days, and fly back to Bangkok late on boarding day.  We overnight in port the first day so the ship will not be leaving but I’m not sure how late I can check in.

Does anyone know the check in procedure for overnights??  If I spend the day in Angkor Wat and take the last flight, it will arrive around 8:00p but will I be able to check in that late?  There are numerous flights per day and they are only an hour so I’m not too worried about timing.  The O overland to Angkor Wat arrives at the ship around 4:30.  Some of the O flights get in later in the evening so there will be people checking in late with O transfers.

    Any info is appreciated!

You can check in any time..we have checked in at Midnight..Just be sure and notify the ship you will be a late arrival..

    No problem
