  1. We agree with you. We were on the same cruise (Hi Sherry!) as well as the next one. We thought Eataly was OK, but the beef tournedos in Le Muse were better than our rib eye and NY steaks at Eataly, in our opinion. For our second week we didn't bother to go to a specialty restaurant since the food in Le Muse is so good.

We tried the Galaxy one night and found their rack of lamb was not as good as the same dish in LeMuse. When we sail again in 2017, we will not bother with a specialty restaurant.

  2. Im having trouble navigating msc's website. Looking for answers to the following questions:

    1. How much is charged for tips per person per day? $12

    2. What is the deposit per person for a 7 day cruise? $200

    3. So it looks like the fantastica drink package is included in that price starting next summer. Im looking at april 2017. What are the current perks of the fantastica level? Better cabin choice, free room service and more.

    4. Call me strange but im a huge fan of room service. Can i order room service if i go with the Bella package? Yes, but they will charge delivery, It's free w/Fantastica.

Thanks for any info you have, Julie

    Hope that helps.

  3. We just got off Divina last week and were in YC. Our butler, Manoj, was wonderful. There was nothing he wouldn't do for us and he had a total of 8 cabins to attend to. He makes sure the room stewards take care of our room needs, answered all questions, guided us off ship, and to restaurant the first night so we knew how to get there. Showed us how to efficiently use the elevator system and every time we ran into him in the hall, lounge or deck, asked if he could do anything for us. The butlers, besides being assigned to specific cabins, work shifts in the Top Sail Lounge and One pool deck. They seem to work from early early morning to late late night. The concierge is like your own personal guest relations. Want specialty dining reservations, they will take care of it. Want to book a tour, or just have a question about the ship, just ask.

    Hope that helps.

  4. We were also on the same cruise as helen and marco and ignacio, and you are now allowed to choose any menu item in Galaxy or Eately as black card holders. We found the food to be comparable to LeMuse, but enjoyed LeMuse and our waiter there and overall atmosphere better.

Other dining changes, menu has been streamlined to Appetizers, Entree and Dessert. You can however, order more than one of any group. Also the Sports Bar now offers free "bar" food (wings, mozerella sticks, etc) to anyone on board.

We also visited the main buffet (to try the pizza) and found a wide selection of foods being offered. For lunch there was pizza, hamburgers and hot dogs, salad bar, sandwiches, ethnic food including mexican, indian, and japenese, kids section with great popcorn shrimp, pastas and a carving board section, as well as hot vegetables etc.

Overall, we were very pleased with Divina's variety and quality.

  5. Ignacio and Marco,

We will be joining you and are looking forward to meeting you both. Safe travels to Miami. We are dealing with an erupting volcano and rainy season landslides right now and just hoping we make it to the airport on Friday morning and flights are not cancelled. Part of the price you pay for living in paradise..HAHA.

    Hope to see you soon.

  6. I received this email this afternoon:

    Dear Guest,

We are looking forward to having you aboard MSC Seaside, which is sure to be one of the hottest and most state of the art ships at sea when it debuts in December 2017.

As you may know, MSC Cruises is also in the midst of developing Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, a one-of-a-kind authentic, island experience exclusively for MSC Cruises guests.

Our goal was to have this unique destination completed in time for the inaugural season of MSC Seaside; however, as we worked to finalize our construction plans for the island – and further enhanced our original plans for the project – we realized that we needed to allot a longer time frame in order to ensure the highest level of quality and attention to detail required for both the infrastructure and services.

The new grand opening of Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve is now set for October 2018. Because of this change, we’ve reorganized the itineraries on the inaugural season of MSC Seaside to ensure we’re providing our guests with the best of the Caribbean, while still maintaining much of the original itineraries.

Your sailing, embarking in Miami on April 14, 2018 will now have the following itinerary:

Please visit our web site at http://www.msccruisesusa.com for more details on your new itinerary.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you in advance for your understanding.

We are confident that you will have an amazing experience aboard the revolutionary MSC Seaside and appreciate you choosing to sail with us!

    Best regards,

    MSC Cruises (USA) Inc.

Our sailing on Feb 3, 2018 is still showing the old itinerary on MSC website. Might be that the new itinerary is not yet finalized for this date and why we have not received notice of changes.

  7. Lovelights, Thanks for the update. Sounds like MSC is listening to those who complained about the pool deck being half taken up by smoking section and the other half by sales tables for merchandise. Sounds like a reasonable solution. Room keys are only available in your room on European sailings, not those originating in the States. Sailing on her on November 5, and looking forward to it!

  8. I must be out of the loop... What does the email say exactly? I don't see anything where you posted the details. Port changes I assume based on the comments. We are sailing in Feb 2018 and haven't received anything.

We are also sailing Feb 2018 and have not received an e-mail. We booked this directly with MSC.

  9. I booked with a TA and MSC just sent them to me...my TA didn't have anything to do with it.

Actually, when I contacted MSC they told me TA had to request them. I then contacted TA, they called MSC to request them and MSC sent them to me directly, about 10 minutes after the request. Just a FYI for anyone who is wondering.

  10. Disappointed that MSC is doing this for the "American" market. We specifically chose her to have a more "European" feel. Only in America is not having a waiter or bar server in your face all the time considered poor service. In most other countries it is considered rude to interrupt you every 5 minutes, and servers wait until you call them to request something.

  11. Since our cruise is not scheduled until Feb 2018, I will wait to see what shakes out with the itinerary before getting upset. Right now, itinerary was listed as St. Thomas, then Nassau, then Ocean Cay. I can't imagine that we will spend two days in Nassau instead, and am sure that they will have to take a look at those same itineraries before coming to a final decision. Still lots of time to see what happens before I make a decision about this booking.
