  1. Unlike some other lines, no pre-registration is required. It will be held whether there are 5 people there, or 50. You might want to mention it on your roll call, because many people overlook it.

  2. Cruise critic.com get together is usually held on first sea day at 11 am in the Silver Lounge. It will be listed in the Dailies under activities. You will meet with officers who will interact, wanting to know what things you like, dislike and what MSC can improve. Snacks and drinks will be served.

  3. Drink package cheaper if prepaid before boarding.

Phillipsburg: Take water taxi from port to town, nice beach right there where you get off along the boardwalk. Believe it is $7 round trip and you can take as many round trips as you like.

Nassau: get off boat, hang a right and beach is only a few hundred meters down (beach has restaurants, bars etc.)

San Juan: No beach within walking distance from port. Sorry!

  4. Unfortunately, RCL's laundry benefit is not nearly as good as Celebrity's. For Diamond, it is now $10 off a $30 bag of Wash N Fold. I think you now need to be D+ to get a free bag. I remember when I was Platinum on Royal and we got $5 off the Wash N Fold which was only $25 back then, so my benefits have not really increased at all with laundry services.

  5. We booked the 2017 Iceland cruise as soon as it was available, which was last November, the week before Thanksgiving. At that time, costs were more reasonable, but since they deemed it a President's Cruise, prices went up about $600 per person for the oceanview that we booked. So I would look for this November for 2018's cruise to be available and at a lesser cost than what is showing for the 2017 trip.

    Hope that helps!

  6. FWIW, when I filled out the online MSC status match application, I waited for weeks to hear back. I finally called them and a very nice lady sent me an email with an application and I sent back our info directly to her and had our status match the next day.

Also when I booked the Seaside directly with MSC I waited for a week to get our confirmation. I then called, they pulled it up and e-mailed it to me while I was on the phone with them.

You need to keep following up with MSC I have found.

  7. Had same problem yesterday trying to book. Get to insurance page and it will let you look at policy but not add it. Called them and was told they are in process of negotiating rates with insurance company so they don't have prices right now.
