  1. Cool! All I have to do now is book a cruise in the next day, or so, so I can be onboard to buy CruiseNext certs and use them before the deadline. Oh wait...I can get the same effect by buying CruiseFirst certs. 😛
  2. On the NCL Ports page of their website, it still says this for Puerto Plata. With the vast majority of their ships docking at Taino Bay, you would think they would remove this blurb. But there it is, for our confusion...er, convenience. Port Name & Location Amber Cove Cruise Terminal. Ship will DOCK at this port.
  3. Looking to stow our luggage the morning of our arrival. Staying in Campo de Fiori, and I see two places in the area. One is Bounce...the other is Stow Your Bags. Wondering if anyone has ever used either of these services. Online reviews are limited. Our AirBnB guy indicated a while ago that we may be able to drop the bags off before check-in. However, our experience with finding someone available at these places in the past has been iffy...and we'd like to have a back-up plan.
  4. Ditto here. We used to have a PCC (who was a great guy could give us nothing extra). On our last cruise we befriended a TA who we now use and she is able to get hundreds off the published price and it then gets applied to our fare. Plus $100 OBC.
  5. I just checked our Feb 6 cruise. For the Vibe it says. "It is too early to book this item for your cruise. Please check back 10/09/2024 to book." We don't ever book the Vibe...it sounds like a marital aid. But others might be interested...
  6. This is going to be our plan from LAX to the port, since we arrive a day early, staying at an airport hotel. My question is, how do you know the time and the location for the transfer if we decide to do this? I'm sure we'll end up scheduling the transfer ahead of time, just wondering about the logistics. If it's too much of a hassle, we might look into alternate arrangements.
  7. Sorry...May 21st. Old fingers trying to type...
  8. Regarding the "Natural *****". You may want to make sure you wash your hands after handling those things before handling other things. Just saying...
  9. We booked this on March 21st...about ten days ago. At the time I said to Mrs. Schmoopie that the ship looks wide open, cabin-wise. I guess we now know why, if it was just put back on the market.
  10. Keep in mind that "Rome" really isn't Rome when it comes to cruising. The port is Civitavecchia and Rome is quite a distance away. Be sure to factor round trip time in your calculations for excursions for that port. And for that matter. "Florence" isn't really Florence...it's Livorno...a good distance from Florence.
  11. Because if they're typical Costco products, there will be a million gummies in a bag the size of a 50 pound dog food bag. And probably two of those bags packaged together in shrink wrap.
  12. Sounds like NCL forgot to feed the hamster on the wheel that powers their website (again).
  13. Just make sure you have dental insurance. Those gummies can mess up your teeth.
  14. Others have (correctly) pointed out that the flight issues are not the fault of NCL. The flights would have gone the same way even if you had booked them directly on your own. However, nobody has addressed the cabin issue. I assume you chose this cabin and it was not a guarantee cabin? Even if a reservation agent or a TA picked it for you, a little checking of deck plans beforehand would have gone a long way to allowing you to pick a cabin in a more desirable location. There are numerous websites with cruise ship deck plans and reviews to allow intelligent cabin choices. So, I don't know what kind of "investigation" would result. Good luck with that.
  15. They way people are complaining about food and service in the Main Dining rooms, you might want to consider adding the Specialty Dining. On the other hand, the way people are complaining about the food and service in the Specialty Dining rooms, you may want to consider not adding Specialty Dining. Hope this helps...
  16. In quickly reading the title of this thread, my old eyes originally thought it said: "Guest denied boarding due to being overserved". But then I realized he would only be overserved AFTER boarding. Okay...back to the discussion of fake letters and appropriate compensation.
  17. Plus, they probably checked their luggage with the porters before finding out they were bumped. I'd like to know how long it took to locate their luggage and get it back...or if they even did.
  18. So...they eliminate the nasty liver glop, but still charge an extra $10?? How can that be? Must be for our convenience...or some such nonsense.
  19. The Pantheon is technically a church, but many recent reports say they don't pay attention to uncovered knees. People routinely wear shorts there.
  20. Good to hear. We have two tours and two transfers scheduled with them in September.
  21. Even that is no guarantee. The only way to know for sure is when you're actually walking on dry land after the ship has docked. By then it's probably too late to change the destination...although I wouldn't put it past NCL to try.
