    Hello

We have a trip booked with Carnival for b2b Starting January 2, 2022.  We are very worried about getting the PCR we are required to come home as Carnival has now stopped doing them for international travels.  Any suggestions?  Anyone sailed or sailing Carnival now, soon or past.

    Thanks in advance

Where are you flying out of?  FLL and MIA both offer the Rapid PCR (RT-PCR) tests for around $159/$179US with results back in 1 hour.  You can book them a few weeks in advance.  Maybe make sure your flights are schedule for later in the day.

You can find the info on both airports' websites.

Click on the link from that page that says " COVID-19 Refund and Cancellations Policy"

The below policies are effective June 28, 2021 and apply to all RCI cruises
scheduled to sail between August 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021, inclusive:

So is the policy through only October 31 or through December 31?

    Consistently inconsistent, as usual! 🙂

The October 31 deadline has to do with anything pertaining to the CSO/Covid, I believe.

Their cancellation/refund policy could be a different deadline (i.e., Dec 31) as that has nothing to do with the CSO.

But currently Royal is flying anyone back home that tests positive....so perhaps flying is better as our car would be stuck in NJ in the chance that this happens?

This is currently scheduled to end on October 31.  If they extend it into 2022, I'm booking a cruise.  This way IF we did test positive, they would get us home and we wouldn't be stuck in the US in a hotel for 2 weeks.

  4. I am wondering if you all think Royal "might" extend their covid protocols for passengers testing positive on board and flying them home after October 31?  It doesn't appear that this is happening frequently.  I really want to book a cruise for February 2022, but being Canadian, the risk of having to quarantine in the US for 2 weeks from testing positive is definitely holding me back from booking.

I know LOTS can happen between now and then (heck, next week!).

Note that the policy changed today and NCL will only help people with denied boarding if they took a COIVD test within 72 hours before arriving at the terminal. Otherwise, if you fail, you're on your own now.

Coming from Canada, we need to take a test within three days to enter the US anyways. So to be smart, we should make sure this three days also includes embarkation day to be eligible for this assistance should we test positive at the pier?

For those that are booked with Carnival and have AZ/Pfizer or Moderna

Just listened to John Heald's morning video and he said that they are looking into booster shots, and specifically for Canadians with AZ/Pfizer or Moderna mixes.

He didn't go into a lot of detail but I would be concerned for those getting 3rd doses in the hopes they would be considered vaccinated...

Was he insinuating that Carnival still wouldn't recognize the AZ/MD/MD as vaccinated?
