  1. My thoughts entirely, plus over the years I have spent quite a lot on sparkly dresses. My earlier ones were strappy and not really suitable as I got older. I want to get my money’s worth out of the ones I wear now.
  2. We were on Azura 15th to 29th September and there were wine waiters in the MDR every lunchtime and evening.
  3. Thank you both. All I need is some time to speak to our TA, hopefully tomorrow.
  4. Thanks for your reply, it’s much appreciated.
  5. There have been more occasions when we had a land view coming into port from even numbered cabins. The best off all when we sailed into New York and watched from the balcony as the Statue of Liberty came into view. It was brilliant.
  6. Not really, It has just become a habit. Are you thinking there are better options on one side than the other.
  7. I am going to book a short cruise to the Fjords for next July. Can someone (possibly Graham) recommend a good position for a deluxe balcony on the port side? Thanks in advance.
  8. Got back from our Azura two week cruise to the Eastern Med late Thursday. I have been busy since then preparing a family party for my Granddaughter who is home from Australia for 3 weeks. I am exhausted now but well worth it, we had a lovely day yesterday but feel like I need another cruise to recover. We had a lovely cruise and met lots of nice people. It was nice to be back on Azura but, as others have said, she was a little tired in parts but nothing terrible. The staff were great, nothing was too much trouble, especially in the restaurants where the waiters would try to tailor meals to your requirements. Overall though, the food was a bit disappointing. One night I chose roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. I got a big chunk of dry beef and the YP was more like a dense cupcake. I was offered another choice but just didn’t fancy anything else on the menu. Lots of dishes seemed to be lacking in seasoning as well. We enjoyed the quizzes and spent some happy hours on deck. Always plenty of sun beds away from the pools which suited us. The weather was mixed but overall OK. We had three excursions booked . Ajaccio was beautiful but the roads were very narrow. The coach driver obviously had a lot of experience and took it all in his stride. Split was disappointing, very built up with lots of 70s styled apartment blocks. Once we got away from the town however we had a couple of nice stops. Dubrovnik is lovely and we will be going back there next year for Ian’s 70th birthday. We did some independent trips as well which were nice. We had a bit of a bad experience in the airport in Malta on our return journey. As usual the buses taking you to the plane were packed. Ian and I had seats at the front and people stood up in front of us near the driver. He suddenly braked really hard and everyone standing were thrown back. The lady in front of me was thrown over the knee high rail and hit the side of my face with her shoulder. She was really upset and kept apologising, even though it wasn’t her fault. My cheek is a little bruised but nothing terrible. We are on Iona next February and already looking forward to trying her.
  9. Will do Michelle. We are on Iona in Feb, first time for us.
  10. We have been on Azura a few times and love her. The last one was pre-COVID. I do know there have been a few bad reports about her recently but we will see for ourselves and report back.
  11. Very excited today. We are flying to Malta at 6.10 tomorrow morning to join Azura for two weeks. COVID tests yesterday were both negative (thank goodness). All P&O paperwork sorted and printed off. A day of packing ahead of us today, taxi pick up tomorrow at 02.15!!! We have never flown so early but at least we get an afternoon in Malta before we sail.
  12. I don’t know what left over Yorkshire pudding is. My mum used to make one in a large tin. There were 6 of us to share it and there was never a crumb left. Happy memories.
  13. Our TUI flight to Malta next Thursday is 6.15 am. A bit early really but we will have the afternoon to recover.
  14. Very much so. I thought she was a wonderful woman, one of a kind.
  15. You are not paying more for the flight you are paying to choose your seats. You don’t have to pay, you will just be allocated a seat when you check in at the airport . We pay to choose our seats as my husband always wants a window seat. If you are OK with aisle seats or sitting one behind the other, you won’t be charged. On the other hand you may just be lucky if all the window seats have not been sold.
  16. Just typical, we got the email today. Yesterday we printed off the e-tickets.
  17. I have to agree with wowzz. We have been on two P&O cruises in the last year. There were some minor issues on both but linked to Passenger Locator forms. Reception staff were a bit overwhelmed by people needing help. Generally these are no longer required (a few destinations may still need them but not many). Other than that, the bar, restaurant and cabin staff all brilliant. We are off on Azura on the 15th and can’t wait.
  18. We missed two ports on our September 2019 cruise. We went to reception and they printed them off immediately.
  19. My daughter bought one earlier in the year. She swears by it as an energy saver. Her middle boy, who has autism, loves fish fingers and chips and would have them every day if allowed. He told me how to use the air fryer when Jen was at work. 15 minutes from frozen and all perfectly cooked.
  20. I have a very hairy cat and I buy sticky rollers from Amazon. They are are great for anything sticking to clothing, not just cat hairs. I have had accidents in the wash when tissues have been left in pockets, sorted very quickly with a sticky roller.
  21. The plant in the background is a Monarda and the three I have are all untouched as are the many dahlias. Perhaps next year I should just concentrate on those and the ones on your list. Thanks for this.
  22. I spent the day up at my daughters, looking after her three boys, while she did a shift at the vets. I came home and did my daily dead heading of my summer plants. Sorry if I am becoming a bit boring talking about the deer who regularly visit us but this is the latest meal one has enjoyed. My lovely pink and white trailing begonia is no more.
