We were on the Beyond in February, 11 night Southern Caribbean. It was definitely full and, at times, it was noticeable. The Pool deck and Solarium were packed -- early and often. Chair hogs were out in full force. We did not notice it as much in the other venues, although at late morning on a sea day Cafe alBacio was packed too, very tough to get a seat anywhere on deck 4.

Having said all that, we would not hesitate to do it again.

FWIW, here is a link to my LIVE...

Thanks! Will check it out! I was finishing the aforementioned Anthem cruise when you were embarking on this, so I missed it.

We did a B2B on Beyond last October in the Mediterranean. Ship was full and we never felt it was crowded other than the Martini Bar. We were Aqua and ate both breakfast and dinner in Blu other than a couple of specialty restaurants. We had the same table every night in Blu early (about 6:15) and never had a wait. When we left at 7:30-7:45 there was a short line a few nights.

     Thank you!

    On one right now...

I have only seen about 7 children on the cruise (mind you we do not have common interests so our paths do not cross often anyway).

As you would expect Blu often has a line early in the evening. The elevators are a bit of a pian in the back of the edge ships (they are small). Tough to get a seat at Martini bar and Eden for shows. Lots of big groups taking seats early, etc.

Food has been overall very good. Specialty dining is available (this seems to be a rather cost-conscious bunch on here this sailing).

Thanks. That is ugh about Blu - I'd rather eat earlier. 😞 (Weirdly on Disney I prefer late dining, but everywhere else I like eating earlier.)

We were In AQ Class on Ascent in Jan..full house ???  .BLU was lovely...not crowded (we eat early).. so happy for that.

The outdoor pool was a total mob scene.. from early on there was loud music and pool games.  Solarium was pleasant early in the day..

Many nice spaces were taken over during daytime  by sports..pickleball on Rooftop garden, curling in the CLUB,  golf  putting in EDEN..

We managed to find quieter spots, Cafe Baccio was  nice,  we could get lunch at Raw on 5 and at  Cafe Bistro..Go early for good seats at shows..they do fill up.!

Other than the loud and shouty vibe  it was fine.

Thanks. That's annoying about golf in Eden. That was my quiet place to curl up during the day with a book on the Edge in 2020.

  4. I'm scheduled on an ABC cruise on the Beyond this summer. Looking at it on the website, it's basically full - only a handful of solo IVs and a few suites are available.

I had a not super great experience on the Anthem of the Seas in February with a completely full ship, so this is making me pretty nervous. I'm in Aqua, so there's that advantage - BUT Aqua is totally sold out as well. So...

Has anyone else been on a totally full Beyond (or Ascent since they're pretty much twins)? How bad was it??

We are in a Sky Suite on the Beyond in a few weeks.  I did not realize that we will be able to also eat the BLU.  Is this always the case?  Thanks in advance.  Steve

It is supposed to be on a space-available basis. If Aqua is sold out, it may be more difficult (or I'd hope it would be) since Blu is the assigned Aqua dining room.

ETA - I make that parenthetical comment as someone in Aqua on a sailing this summer where Aqua is sold out. I seriously hope that they take that into account when deciding whether to seat Suite guests.

Noooooooooooo... I don't go on vacation to be insulted! Lol.  I did get a weight reading before leaving home so will compare when I get back.

This is exactly what I do. Yes, I'm on WW but that is a program for living, not dieting. I will do stairs as much as possible and use the walking track, and I'll be aware of what I'm eating and do some things like ask that my servers not bother with heating up gluten-free bread for me at dinner (easy since I'm usually solo...or with my parents who are gluten-eating, so they can have their bread and I'm not tempted), but I don't deny myself.

One week (or 8 days in the case of my last and next cruises) is not going to make or break me. I know how to get back on track.

    Thanks,

I did a mock booking for a SV and the allocated cabin was at the aft ...very similar to the photo.

Fabulous views but I guess  (or us) too much motion.

We prefer midships ..so it's back to looking again with a different ship. .

Great to have such informative replies .

SV means sunset veranda. That means at the aft of the ship. There won't be a Sunset Veranda at a forward or midship location.

We are already paying the standard gratuities, wouldn’t that apply WHEREVER we ate dinner?

No. Standard gratuities cover servers in the MDR(s) and those working in the OVC and other no extra fee places.

We always eat at the Historic Downtowner along the water in Las Olas.  In fact, that is where I am writing this post from!

After a short nap we walked down to the river for dinner at the Downtowner.  We shared appetizers of deviled eggs and fish dip, and we each ordered shrimp tacos for our main.  We love this place as it is casual but has good food at decent prices, especially for this area.  We always get a table along the water and watch the yachts and boats go by.  The best view!  The weather today is perfect for this!

Next we'll ride the free water taxi some (do we know how to have fun or what?) and window shop along Las Olas Blvd.

I've noticed that Celebrity has no scheduled ships visiting the Caribbean out of Ft. Lauderdale next summer.  When the new Caribbean schedule was announced months ago, I recall something about Reflection cruises for 2025-26 being released in February.  Any idea when or what can be expected in this regard?

I just looked and Reflection is out of Ft. Lauderdale and Beyond is out of Miami for next summer (2025).

The ships use the term “Lido deck”, meaning the deck area with the pool. Normally that is the same deck as the buffet on most/every ship I have been on.

I've never seen Celebrity use that term. (Or Disney, which is what I have most of my cruises on.)

I'd still just say the buffet rather than trying to be fancy.

The buffet. Traditionally cruise ship buffets were on the lido deck.

Oh. I'd only heard "lido" in reference to the pool. Hence my confusion. Especially since Celebrity doesn't use the term for the pool deck. I've only seen it on Princess.

USGS has a website --- I Felt That

    https://earthquake.usgs.gov/data/dyfi/

It is fun to read the reports.     People report where they are what they felt.   Fun read.

We have constant earthquakes ----99% less than 3.0 and  one never feels them.

It is interesting to understand that The Richter scale is a base-10 logarithmic scale, meaning that each order of magnitude is 10 times more intensive than the last one. In other words, a two is 10 times more intense than a one and a three is 100 times greater.

Just had a 4.0 aftershock. Felt it in Brooklyn.
