I have some Marriott points to use and trying to get hotels lined up pre and post cruise. This is what I have on tap since last post and wondering if anyone has experience related opinions on these properties. Greyfriars St Andrews St Ermins Hotel in London (points) Renaissance Hotel at LHR (points) Still working on Edinburgh. TA I know mentioned Macdonald Holyrood Hotel in a package offer but not sure. Any suggestions for something in Old town area? As always thanks in advance!

So trains do run from London to Portsmouth? How close is train station to the cruise terminal? For some reason I thought no trains had to be a bus but then again I am on overload at the moment on info thanks again for the info

Thank you for the train info. Also forgot to mention we go out of Portsmouth. On Londontoolkit.com they mention Dover, Southampton and Harwich for ports. Is Portsmouth the same as Dover or Harwich? I haven't seen much on Portsmouth.

You are always so helpful, I was wondering if you could answer a couple questions for me. We have never been to London. We are taking a NCL cruise around Ireland. We are flying into Scotland and spending a few days before coming to London. Here are my questions if you would be so kind... 1. Best way to get from Edinburgh to London? 2. We will have 3 nights in London before our cruise. Best area to stay that we can take in the most sights in three days. We like to walk to most things but not sure London is that kind of town as hear most things spread out. so close to a tube staton, hoho stop, etc? Would prefer not to spend more than $275/night. Looking currently at Kensington but not sure. 3. Best way to get to Portsmouth and how long does it take? 4. We have our air already out of LHR. We decided not to fly home day we depart from the ship as schedules would be tight, so will need a hotel by Heathrow as it is an early flight the next day. Is there anything to see out there or will we need to go into London proper? Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

I am wondering if mid May or mid October is better for a cruise around Ireland any comments about weather or sea conditions for those two times of the year

Looking at May 8th or October 10th sailing that goes around Ireland. Anyone out there that has done this cruise at these times that can comment about the cruise? Wondering mostly about weather and sea conditions. I know what happened this year weather won't be the same as next year but curious if you had a good experience and would do it again. Thanks

Anyone out there with experience or who lives in Ireland that could comment on the weather and seas for those two times of year? Are things to see closed in October? Leaning towards October but wondering now if weather could be an issue? Thanks in advance!

Thanks again NCL has us in Montreal at Westin all three night pre and we would prefer QC. I have booked a room in QC old town that I can cancel if Hilton doesn’t become available or more expensive. If we do on our own we will have to arrange our own transfers but trains and buses are readily available at reasonable prices from what I am seeing. Has anyone taken the Orleans Express bus? Thoughts?

Hi there! Wondering if I could get some help on this cruise. I am just starting my research. We will be on the Pearl out of Quebec City to Boston. We will be visiting Sydney PEI, Halifax, Bar Harbor, Charlottetown, and Portland,(not in this order). Are there any ports that you suggest are better to do on our own or can just walk off the ship and wander around as we are not big into ship excursions especially just bus trips. Also love good shopping for unique or locally made items to bring home that are special to the area. Any suggestions there? We are currently flying into Montreal and on their air/land package but thinking we can do the hotel part cheaper. Hotel Recommendations for Montreal or Quebec city? Thoughts about one city over the other if we go in 3 nights early? Transportation looks like either the bus or train are the best options to get to Quebec city. I know they won't do transfer without our doing hotel through them. Thanks in advance for any and all help!!
