Cold meds are banned in some countries. I would be careful if you are taking Tylenol (paracetamol) and are also drinking alcohol. The combination is very toxic for your liver. My sister has seen folks hospitalized with liver failure after having several drinks and taking Tylenol. As you get older it is even more of a strain on your liver. There are now warnings on the bottles. DayQuil and NyQuil also contain Tylenol. It’s hidden in a lot of medicines.

Whosh should check Jim and Iiams thread. They have listed several British companies that will get you a COR so you can travel home.

Cunard is doing exactly that and dealing with the firestorm. There is no perfect or even mildly acceptable to the staff shortages. Canceling booked guests is never pleasant.

Even pre COVID, we found the service from the Butlers to be sub par. One Butler per 10 cabins, in ordinary times, is not enough. This is especially true with Penthouses and above cabins who expect events such as sail away parties, cocktail parties and dinner parties. One per 10 suites is just not enough. We last traveled in a RS and had no Butler service because of the demands of other suites. We did receive an apology but staffing has never been sufficient for the suites.

Celebrity should do what Cunard is now doing. They are canceling the booked voyages of a number of passengers because of staffing issues. They have stated they simply can’t provide the level of service they want unless they decrease the passenger loads. Hope I am not one of the ones facing a canceled voyage in December.

I am sensitive to loud and/or bad music. I always have a pair of earplugs with me,Vibes are especially good in music venues.

We got our second booster in April. We are hoping for another booster in October, six months after our April booster. Hopefully it will be a vaccine that works against variants by then and might be combined with the seasonal Flu vaccine.

I wonder if you said to Cunard that you would be happy to keep your accessible stateroom even if it was in the middle of COVID quarantine cabins. Those testing positive for COVID in accessible cabins can just stay in their original cabins. Their travel companions will have to be content to remain in the cabin and be exposed to COVID.

Great, even more chance of catching COVID while traveling to your cruise! Of course Celebrity will still be blamed when you end up with COVID after you board. Great to know that you won’t catch COVID in Business/Polaris Class. On our last flight to Athens, there were 48 of us in Business Class so we had many chances to catch COVID if we hadn’t been wearing masks.

Just wait, the airlines will cancel flights and re route you. If your flight is not happening in the next week expect changes and not for the better.

Yes, wash your hands.

It’s the passengers choice to gamble or not based on the odds. Many of us don’t spend a dollar in the ships or any casino.

Since you decided to stay on the ship for another voyage, were some passengers refused boarding because of cabins now occupied by passengers from the previous voyage? This could definitely present a problem on future cruises especially since infected passengers are demanding balcony staterooms. If older passengers can test positive for many, many days we could end up with a quarantine ship. Perhaps Celebrity should take a ship out of service in the Mediterranean and have it serve as a quarantine/isolation ship. Very glad our next voyages will not be near Italy.

At least it was a “ hot tub” and not a bath tub as is furnished on Royal Suite balconies. It is a waste of space, you fill with water and the temperature is not maintained. I would rather have loungers on the balcony. I also wonder how they clean the water lines. At least in a hot tub chemicals are added for sanitation.

I have a problem with ventilators on Celebrity cruise ships. The doctor would have to render you unconscious to put you on a vent and keep you there. Not comfortable with a cruise ship doctor doing this. I can understand an oxygen assist but not a ventilator.

Doesn’t sound like anyone has gotten sick enough to require the antivirals. If they were they would be taken off the ship to be treated. Some posters have written about getting preventive prescriptions from their doctors so they could take the tablets when they felt they were needed. My doctor won’t do this but maybe some will.

Now that “cruise only” fares are now available what will Captains Club members complain about?

I am curious about isolation once leaving the ship. Do you let the hotel or AIRBNB know that you have tested positive with COVID. I would expect the hotel to complete disinfect between customers but what about the AIRBNB?

That’s why I said look for another line, one where the COVID positive passengers are happy or at least satisfied.

We were once put into an accessible cabin on Celebrity. There is no lip for the roll in shower so I used the showers in the Spa every day so I would not flood the bathroom. We had no tub, so if this is a problem ask for an accessible suite and you will have plenty of room to shower and no tub to climb in. The higher level suites, if not accessible, have both a shower and a tub.
-
Because everyone believes Celebrity is so lacking in their handling of COVID passengers, you should look into other lines. You may find one that will treat you as you expect when you come down with COVID. Check the threads for other lines and find one when folks are happy with their time in isolation or quarantine. Book your next cruise on that line.

Sunset verandahs are significantly more expensive than the other, port hole style verandahs. I would be very surprised if people were not waitlisted for sunset verandahs as they are the most sought after non suite cabins.

I would guess each Captain, regardless of the line, is still responsible for the safety of his/her ship and everyone onboard. Corporate won’t change this.

I do know IV cabins are not true balcony cabins, but do have a window that opens up the top part of the IV “ balcony”. Other posters on this thread wrote about wanting to be out on their balcony so they could have fresh air.
The Retreat is not living up to its hype and we haven't even sailed.

You can probably still cancel the cruise for a full refund. If you don’t have the best of expectations, why bother taking the cruise. Your vacation dollars can be spent elsewhere.
