Please post your experience with your solo cruise. I’m solo on Regatta July 21 Alaska.

I don’t understand this sale. I have called three times to Oceania and twice TA. I booked three cruises in November 2022. There must have been a promotion then. No one can give me any extras, lower the price or give me a cabin upgrade. I can rebook but the cost to me would increase. Example of one cruise. Other two similar pricing, more because they are 11day Bermuda My cruise fair is $8798 early booking discount $4399 bonus discount $900 addition savings $619 air credit $400 OBC $200 Brings it to $2480 Seems like about as low as they can go. I’m solo so maybe that’s why I get nothing additional.

I no longer have a computer. Hopefully I can do everything on the iPhone. I found no need for purchasing a computer. iPhone does everything.

I’m a brat! I was in a wonderful solo 6030 with a small lifeboat obstruction. Now I upgraded to a concierge balcony. No deal but full price. Why? I’m old when will I get back to Alaska if ever. I’m also booked for 2024 but on American Cruise line all different ports from this year. I just hope for good health. Everyday is a bonus. I’m determined to get to Alaska. I’ve been to all the other states.

Ok help me! I can book my specialty dining reservations for four dinners. TA and Oceania rep told me that my day to book is May 22. So do I book right after midnight on May 21? That would be early morning May 22.. To me after midnight on May 22 would be early morning on the 23rd. Also, I’m solo and would like to dine alone if possible. Not sure if I get seated at a table for four it would be me and a couple which would be uncomfortable. But a table for six or eight might be a group of friends and me intruding. Thoughts?

You mentioned when the Terrace Grill is opened. It’s not open every night?

Mine is listed. But no discounted rate. I called twice two different people. I could cancel and rebook and then get the new discount but that would leave me paying more than I am paying. It would probably be the same for your booking. A sale is not always a sale. It’s a promotion.

Yes I just called. No added discount or amenities for me! Probably because I’m already on the solo discount.

How accurate are the port charts for ships in port? Regatta according to this arrived at 12pm. Oceania has us arriving at 9am. Originally 8am.

I feel the exact same way about Viking! My local travel club talked me into going on a cruise December 2023! I had to pay for it over a year ago! Never again! It’s a group that I do theater trips with and they caught me on a weak day! Also they did not want to take a credit card payment! They wanted a wire transfer of funds! No way! When I said credit card or cancel they finally took the credit card!

1. I did the Rocky Mountaineer train trip July 2022. Definitely different! To me it was like being on a bus that you can’t get off of for 16-18 hours! I was in the deluxe gold leaf double decker with separate dining room! Eight hour days stretched to 16-18 hours because whenever a commercial train comes along you get to pull to the side and wait and wait and wait! Two bathrooms for a train full of people. I can’t imagine the regular seating! They ate on trays at their seats! The way to go is by motor home! I saw thousands of them because the train tracks follow the highway! The Fairmont Hotels were amazing! A couple overnights were in motels that I would never have chosen! I don’t like sea days but now I’d rather an extra sea day with a whole ship to explore rather than a double decker gold leaf train with a rather small outdoor deck. 2. Just fly to the canyon area and rent a motor home! We traveled cross country three trips and by motor home it was an amazing trip! Nothing comes close! 3. We did Amtrak Boston to California via the Chicago route! Amazing trip but tedious! Just my opinion!

As I read these posts I’m getting very concerned that I have made a mistake booking with Oceania. I’m usually with Holland America but chose Oceania for a change. Many many complaints about Holland America as well. My port days have already been cut by eight hours! One hour less in each port. I fo not enjoy sea days! I love the ports!
