  1. Not sure if this is a reason to complain about the service charge....but I'm curious what you're doing to consistently get seated in those areas every single time. Looking at all the seating in the dining room the odds of that happening are very small unless you're doing something that makes them want to seat you in an undesirable area (I have no idea what behavior would cause that though).
  2. That's too deep for this early in the morning.
  3. Can't we just put the past behind us.
  4. Yes I have! But it was still a joke here....:) But I also feel you can tell what ship is at what dock by looking at the webcam's and looking at the map...but that was a different discussion.
  5. Legally they can still call it reduced fat/low fat ice cream though, Ice Milk hasn't been officially used since around 1994. And personally I enjoy the soft serve stuff....I always have to be careful of the hard stuff in the buffet because some of it seems to have been sitting and is covered in ice crystals. Anyway, enjoy what you like....it's all bad for you...:)
  6. Just don't say that when they're going out of Miami. Apparently there's too many ships there at one time. (This is a joke so nobody take me seriously on this please).
  7. I am assuming that you have the drink package? If so just do your own tastings. The alcohol tastings on the ship do have an upcharge. Also, I highly, highly recommend you make friends with the Haven bartenders, they will hook you up with new and amazing drinks.
  8. There is no coffee “punch card” like other cruise lines have. They do sell a Starbucks package but I believe it’s around $12+ per day and all people in the cabin need to purchase it. Otherwise you can use a Starbucks gift card for Starbucks or pay as you go.
  9. A room steward takes care of most of these items and the butler oversees them. Your daily service charge covers the room steward, but feel free to tip additional if you feel the service is exceptional. I thought by room service you had meant food delivery.
  10. Your butler will be the one delivering the room service during the day. A night butler will do it if after hours. Tipping is up to you but I normally tip the butler at the end. If a night butler does the delivery I would toss them a few bucks.
  11. I wonder if it's an upcoming change, my January cruise on the Breakaway still shows A la carte. But the website for the ship does show complimentary...the menu is not available right now though.
  12. Don’t you watch and listen to other diners when you’re on a cruise to see what they think of the food? I certainly like to people watch and will keep an eye out if there’s loud drama at any nearby tables.
  13. We were notified the day before our cruise in the evening. Someone did a last minute cancellation so we were upgraded to the Haven. It was kind of funny because our butler thought the room was empty so didn’t visit us until day 2.
  14. See if these are any better for you. Breakaway Dailies - Dec 2023.pdf
  15. Thank you so much for the in-depth review. We'll be doing this cruise next month!
  16. Last times we were on the Bliss reservations were made at the comedy club . Guest services would not be able to help.
  17. 7 nights Western Caribbean in November on the Seascape. It was $2900 total for two of us with $200 OBC. It's an inside room but in the YC complex. We're also looking at a 10 day out of Copenhagen in 2025 for $2100 for an inside room. No other perks but it's all port days except for one.
  18. Next time be prepared by wearing those zip off shorts. You can just pull the pant legs out of your pocket and be in compliance.
  19. There's deals if you look. European cruises can be fantastically cheap. I've got the YC booked this November for $2900. Still a great deal since it includes free wi-fi and premium drink package.
  20. Interesting, they extended us during Covid but we do cruise them every 2-3 years, the biggest perk I like is that you can use the Yacht Club tender bypass lines getting back to the ship, it saved us an hour or so of waiting in line at Grand Cayman. I won't turn this thread into a NCL vs. MSC debate though, they both have their place...:).
  21. One thing that I personally like about MSC is that you have to cruise every 3 years to keep your status. I’ve seen other cruise lines with lifetime status and their top tiers are pretty bloated. Not a big deal unless there’s perks like a lounge access etc.
  22. Is it worth spending the additional $45 on the silver package to get 3 drinks, app and main? I’ve never seen a menu with prices there. thanks.
  23. Tipping is pretty personal. But also this isn’t excessive amounts at all for someone that is spending thousands on the Haven or a Suite. It’s also dependent on how often you use their services.
