  1. Just a side note, if you have the BOGO airfare you probably can't get FCC since you're not pricing the same cruise package/perks.
  2. We were on it in January this year. The ship was in decent shape. Not sure what shows are on it now as Priscilla had ended. I don’t feel the ship was run down at all.
  3. And you’ve made final payment? If so you can request to apply for FCC to offset the difference. It’s not guaranteed and you can’t do it within 15 days of the cruise. Good luck!
  4. If you are platinum you should be well aware that getting a price drop credit after final payment is unlikely. Also do you have airfare? That locks in your rate after final payment since you’re not making an identical comparison to the current rate or offer.
  5. No, because I'm flexible and can deal with changes. Or I like to roll the dice. I've seen posts of people that do get this coverage and seem happy with it and haven't complained about the pricing. We have an annual plan since for us it's the best bang for the buck, it doesn't offer an option for missed ports.
  6. While yes they could keep you on the boat, its in their best interest to stop at ports so you spend money on their excursions.
  7. I would certainly have fun but also complain about it because I want attention!! The smart person carries the trip insurance that covers missed ports. Make the right choices and you could make some coin!
  8. And I get that it was a recent problem. You declined the perk end of story. I don't feel I was insulting or rude, I was pointing out what made your post sound a bit entitled, I missed where you correct it later.
  9. I think your wording is what got under peoples skin. Asking for compensation for not taking a free perk is a bit much. When you originally booked you don't have to take any perks if you don't want to use them, there's no compensation involved with declining. It's not any different than cancelling after you've booked.
  10. In their defense, they are from Scotland. Tipping is a lot different over there. But with that being said, if you're on a US Based cruise line you should follow their tipping protocols.
  11. I'm guessing the check in system doesn't have validation checks. It just allows any documentation because it doesn't differentiate between closed loop and non-closed. They assume that the customer is reading up on what they need for documents (I would have assumed NY-Miami would be ok, but I also always bring a passport). It obviously got caught when they started processing the passenger manifest.
  12. So you have proof they disabled the navigation screen? Pretty good chance they had a software issue. I've seen it go out quite a few times especially on older ships. Rough seas can happen any time you are part of cruising, you are in the ocean. Unless you have a Captains certification you really have no right to second guess the Captain's decision. Passenger safety is always at the top.
  13. Works fine for me, and it's a real discount. Does your account show that it's active?
  14. I'm sure it was no fun, but the ship was in zero danger, they're designed for much rougher seas than you would ever sail in. I remember this cruise out of LA. The winds were truly nautical with huge waves, there was no compensation offered or expected, bad weather can happen anywhere.
  15. It saves some time when you get go the port, but you can just wait until you get to the pier. Just plan for a little longer check in process.
  16. Shouldn’t you adjust the DSC then since you’re in a smaller cabin?? Oh wait. Why did I get sucked into another silly DSC thread.
  17. Looks like they may have fixed it. I was able to book Cagneys now.
  18. I am on the next week sailing and I have the same issue. I was able to book my other restaurant choices.
  19. But it was a response to someone stating that NCL was the only cruise line that changed GTY rooms after being assigned. So it was very relevant to that conversation.
  20. I have had a guarantee cabin changed both on Royal and Princess once it was assigned.
  21. That is pretty decent compensation since a hurricane is totally out of NCL’s control.
  22. No, there isn't a dedicated Haven restaurant, but you can be served breakfast and lunch in Cagney's or Moderno's (varies by ship). Those meals would only be served to Haven guests. There is no dedicated dinner option.
