  1. B2B Seashore this past June/July. There was only one party on the night of the late departure from San Juan. It was a white parry coinciding with white night.

I believe this was because of covid protocol. There was no Captains reception or meeting officers in YC either cruise. But there was a Diamond member toast with officers both cruises. But a little different as the officers did not stay and talk with you like previous events. Maybe recently it has changed for both Diamond party and YC parties?

I bought in at 20, sold at 40. No OBC available then😪

So bought back in at 35 and have collected, or will collect about 1500 for what is booked. So I guess mine are free now 😁

Now hopeful that RCL will become profitable and pay off those loans in the next 5 years. Then they will start paying dividends to stock holders. If RCL can get back to pre covid dividend payouts,  I figure I get a couple free 7 day cruises every quarter.

At current stock prices it would only take you 41  7-12 night cruises to recoup the cost of 100 shares.

Having bought stock this summer I am now just 39 cruises away from breaking even.

BTW, only takes 10 Carnival, Princess, Cunnard or Holland America cruises to break even at their current stock price.

Bought some shares back when it hit $19 a share. Been on 6 RCL cruises and have got 13 more (7 day cruises) to go. Then those first 100 shares are "FREE".

For CCL stock we would only need 9 cruises to break even. CCL at todays prices you would only need 7 cruises (7 day or three 14+ day cruises) to break even on 100 shares.

No material difference. You’ll be fine with the 1 person/2 devices package. It doesn’t matter who actually owns or uses the devices, you’ll be given two separate logins to use.

I have only been able to create one log in for 2,3 or 4 device package. First person will long in and create password. Then wifi internet will work for how ever many devices you purchased for. Ie 2 device package 2 devices at once, 3 device will let 3 devices be logged in at once.

What I was told was that the spot under the keypad (where the numbers are) is where the YC wristbands would be used if the system was active. It would still work the same way as far as selecting the desired destination but the summoning of the elevator would be expressed if the system was in use.

That is what I tried and was told. Figured out pretty quickly that priority was not working on Seashore. Definitely worked on Seaside last time we were on her.

We embark on our cruise in a week on the Divina.

    Just received email from MSC.

It appears they are starting a pre cruise concierge type service .

First time we have received this. Must have been started 2022.

Our last YC cruise was November 2021.

You have made an excellent choice in booking a MSC Yacht Club suite,
and I can’t wait to welcome you on board.

Luxurious accommodation and exclusive services are only the beginning to what awaits you. No request is too great and no detail too small to make your experience a memorable one, starting now.
Please submit attached form with your preferences during your cruise.
mini bar bottle of liquor choice from list
    pillow menu
    newspaper choice delivered daily.

The form only allowed one name and selections .
can I assume we will get another for the other guest in the cabin?
    After all…
    We don’t like the same pillows🙄, or……
    liquor.😁

Customize your experience by choosing your daily newspaper sin.
Ensure sweet dreams by selecting the perfect pillow to meet your needs for a restful night of sleep.
Let us know your preferred drink of choice and get ready to say bon voyage!

Please let us know your preferences by completing the form below* two days before your departure.

We received one bottle of liquor per room per cruise this past July. When did this change to one bottle per guest in cabin?

We also filled out the pre cruise questionnaire and it was a waste of time. Had to fill out form onboard with our choices. Out of the 15 day cruise I got printed newspaper probably 5 times.

Just, literally just, returned home from two weeks on the YC/Seashore.

I will write my thoughts in the upcoming days, but for certain, shorts are permitted in the YC dining room, as are baseball caps, sandals, flip flops, wrinkled T-shirt’s with writing on them or not, at night. There seems to be no enforcement of the “suggested” dress code.

The concierge told me that MSC does not want to offend anyone, so elegant gowns and tux are welcomed as are shorts.

And our butler did tell us that no shorts were allowed on gala night, however, he was incorrect.

Well the no shorts was strictly enforced on my B2B sailings this past summer.

What ship are you on? I'm on the Seashore right now and I would say 50%of the men are wearing shorts for dinner. I had dinner last night at Butcher's Cut, (Excellent meal) and 1/3 of the men there were wearing shorts.

We sailed Seashore this past June/July on a B2B. We made it to the port of Miami but our luggage did not. United said they would deliver luggage before ship left.

Concierge and YC director (Mr. Bala) were on the lookout for our luggage.  Needless to say, our luggage did not make it with all our clothes.

We were informed that we could show up for dinner in YC restaurant this evening. But were told that we would not be able to eat in restaurant if we did not have long pants and shoes. We were informed by our butler. The second night which our butler brought dinner from YC restaurant to eat in our rooms. The 3rd day we were able to buy dress slacks and shoes in Ochos Rios and able to eat in restaurant. Do you know how hard it is to find dress slacks in a Caribbean port city?

Unfortunately my exerience was that the no shorts policy was strictly enforced and even though it was no fault of mine, I was not given an exemption to policy. Wonder what has changed in the past couple months with the dress code polict? Different restaurant manager, YC director, Hotel Director??

Since you are posting in a Yacht club thread, I assume you are in Yacht club.

Each adult gets 2 devices. So a total of 4 for your cabin.

On Seashore YC this past June/July each person, including my son, got 2 devices each week. Maybe different on other ships?

  10. I just received the last check for the June/July cruises that my mom had to cancel due to Covid. First check arrived last week sept 21 and the check for the following cruise arrived exactly a week later yesterday.

Now to deposit both checks and hope that they are not marked return to maker.

On Both Harmony and Symphony we just knocked on the door...
Was nice to have lunch in CK on boarding day!!

I mentioned that it was easy to get into SL on Oasis class as one of the concierges are there or go through CK. It is hard to get into SL on non Oasis class ships as your seapass is on the cabin door. Not like in years past when you would get your seapass at terminal.

Yeah, honestly, I only noticed two things "missing" from the previous service:

    - Luggage wasn't place at specific doors

    - No chocolates on our pillow at turn-down

I can live with those.  I was only miffed at the luggage being left down the hall because I didn't know to expect it.

Just off Navigator a couple weeks ago. Lugguage was at our cabin door by 3pm. Seems like the bring up carts of lugguage and stack them by service elevator. Then when they have a bunch of lugguage it gets brought to cabin doors.

If you are in a Grand Suite you can leave them in the Suite Lounge. We've done that, the concierge assured us they'd be safe as there are cameras in there. Left it behind his desk

How would you get in the Suite Lounge without a key card on non Oasis class ships? Your key to access the SL is on your door. For Oasis class I have found the concierge to be at desk or access through CK. Other ships, I have personally never seen a concierge at their desk on boarding day.

I have to agree. My recent Divina YC experience is similar. In fact it was so good I asked the Restaurant Manager if they had changed beef purveyors for Port Canaveral. Steaks a few months earlier on Meraviglia, even in Butcher’s Cut, were not even Choice, much less Prime. I plan on foregoing our Diamond dinner and just have the steak in YC. Advantage is no limitation on menu selections for everything else.

    Dennis

The filet in YC was very good the 2 weeks we were on Seashore in June/July. I would say slightly better than BC filet we had. Definitely better cut of meat on Seashore (2022) than on Seaside(2019). On Seaside, BC filet was better than YC restaurant.

MSC YC filet was better than the Royal filet I had last week.

  15. Talking to a couple last cruise that did a Royal Up. They were booked in a balcony and bid on Royal Up to Grand Suite. Got notification they won their bid. When they got to their cabin it was a Junior Suite. Guest services could not switch them and told couple that they have to take their problem up with the vendor that administers Royal Up.

They did tell me they have disputed charge with credit card company.

I have never done a Royal Up as the TA I use does not participate. Asking you experienced Royal Up cruisers, the bids are very cabin specific. It is not like when you book guarantee that there is one that is JS and better and then another one that is grand suite or better (WS)?

When we got to Ocean House we were greeted by our host of butlers. First time we got to see all the butlers smiling faces without masks. The tables, chairs and umbrellas have been upgraded for Ocean House in the last few weeks. Many of the umbrellas have concrete foundations on the lawn with tables for 4 under them. Also, the dining area has been expanded to the lawn in front of Ocean House under a canopy of palm trees. Quite inviting and were the first to be commandeered by some guests immediately. Having made our 'inspection' of Ocean House we took the next trolley back to the ship. Opting to spend the day on our 355 sq ft balcony over looking the entire island in the breezy shade. Did notice the slight smile creep over our butler's face when we stated we had reservations to eat at a specialty restaurant on the ship this noon (two less prima donnas to cater to today !).

Did MSC add spigot to wash sand off your feet close to club house?? I mentioned this to Robert and he said that was in the works.

When you get off the beach, you can rinse near the cabanas. Then feet get all sandy again walking to clubhouse.

We don't usually get 10% obc....it's more like 7% on most cruises, this one was different, but I am paying for it with annoyance.

I thought you were going to be sailing primarily Navigator from Cali.

We're the opposite of you.  Our plans since Covid are cruise to cruise.  But since most cruise lines have dropped their restrictive protocols, we might just look farther ahead.

    Mary Ann

We are doing mostly Navigator (on a B2B right now). Unfortunately Hurricane Kay has us just floating off US/Mexico border. Just enough to open shops and casino. And will be back on Navigator in about a month. The 7 day sailings are getting harder to find and mostly going to 3/4 day cruises on Navigator. We are right now doing 5 day cruises and the feel of ship is more party atmosphere. Fine, but just different than 6+ night cruises.

    Take care and happy cruising

    Hi, Frank

My problem isn't the amount of obc that I receive.  I also receive quite a bit .... it's over 10% on this upcoming Seashore cruise...(not until October).  My problem with them is that I can never reach them via email or telephone after I've committed with my reservation.

Sometimes you wonder if the aggravation of not having calls, etc. returned is worth the OBC.

Well I have a TA that is responsive but you get a little less OBC.

Enjoy your cruise on Seashore. We had a great 14 nights on her.

If you have time we are sailing MSC Citavechi June 9-16 and then Genoa June 18-25 2023. Also RCCL Brilliance last Alaska cruise Sept 17-24 then Sept 24 to Hawaii. Would be nice to sail with you and Jose again. Then spend a few a week in Hawaii. Prices are really good a few weeks ago. Problem is that cruises are on the other side of the US for you.

    What about your plans.

That's fine if you have a good ta.  It seems current one is either on vacation, or doesn't return phone calls or emails.  I'm stuck with her for this cruise, but I'll be moving on after.

Anyway, I was just trying to help.

Send me an email or call. I use a TA that gives about 8-9% back in obc.

I am waiting for an email from someone on CC that their TA gives more than that amount.

How was your cruise on Seashore? We had a great 15 days on her. I think grandma's are now spoiled by the service and food.

Do YC members have access to the Aurea Solarium area and its amenities?
(We're sailing Seashore YC on 9/24).

Yes, we enjoyed it a few days. Most people did not know it was there, even Aurea guests. It is a little Oasis with no one in area except your private bartender. But of course you have to walk the 10 steps to bar to get another drink as there is no butler service. I found the Casita to be more comfortable than the YC one.
