  1. There were dogs on a Celebrity Bermuda cruise I was on last June.
  2. Sorry to hear that, Jon. How disappointing especially for a line with the reputation they enjoy. Hope things turn around for you.
  3. Whether you deem it unfair or not, it is a fact. Source...https://www.cbc.ca/player/play/2056928835691
  4. Getting the same Accept our Apologies message when I click the pricing link for Vista Nov TA. Something is going on.
  5. Take it from a Canadian that has connected through YYZ too many times to count. You are playing with fire with that tight a connection (especially in this day and age) on an intercontinental flight through YYZ. One hiccup in DC or YYZ and you are likely done. YYZ has been named the worst airport in the world for a reason.
  6. My best friend and his wife cruise Carnival exclusively. I am so stealing this line.
  7. Thanks for this, Paul. That is a great point.
  8. Thank you all! I really appreciate the veterans sharing their experiences and advice. Very helpful. My wife found a late afternoon flight out of FLL so that may be the way to go. Thanks again!!
  9. Hi everyone, Need some advice from the helpful O board members. We have never disembarked in Miami before and are wondering about making a flight connection. We are on the Marina TA that will arrive in Miami at 6am on Dec 3rd. Flights to get home to Eastern Canada are limited so my only option to get home the same day is an 11:45am flight out of MIA. Doable or risky.? How long does it usually take to get to airport once you are off ship?
  10. Steady, ORV. It was a bit of lighthearted, self-deprecating humour about the quality of wine I drink.
  11. Same. $10 bucks should cover twisting the screw cap off the stuff I drink. 😀
  12. I'm curious about your statement about beer and spirits when in port. O's FAQ says wine only when embarking, and they also say that any alcohol purchases made in port will be held for you "in bond" until the end of the cruise. It would appear they don't enforce those restrictions, or their FAQ is incorrect and needs to be revised.
  13. Thanks Jon, just put a post up on the roll call.
  14. Thanks everyone for your help, much appreciated.
  15. Hi everyone - first off, thanks to the great board members to have educated me so much about Oceania! I've poured over this board for the past couple weeks absorbing as much as I can. I've taken the plunge and put a hold on an A1 cabin on the Marina's transatlantic sailing in November of this year. After sailing exclusively on Celebrity since 2015, I figured it was time to take that plunge for what I'm sure will be an elevated experience. We are so excited we can't wait. Hardly even thinking about the 9 day med cruise we have in June on Celebrity Reflection, lol! To my question. Have Canadian members used US based TAs for their bookings? I understand you can transfer your booking to a TA for a period of time after the fact and I am wondering if US TAs are an option, or if I need to use a Canadian TA? If a Canadian TA is the only option (or better option), does anyone have any recommendations as to TAs? I did try to work through a TA I have used in the past, but they don't seem all that interested. They have ignored me for the better part of a week now so I guess it is time to move on and find another. At one time I wouldn't think of not using someone local, but those days are long past. Would appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks!
  16. We were given the same green apple advice by the crew on a Celebrity cruise from Bayonne to Bermuda last June when we ran into rough seas. It did seem to help.
  17. Thanks and I sort of did in my head. Generally, the only drinks we would want outside meal times is a pre-dinner cocktail in one of the bars, and a nightcap on the veranda, but that could be addressed with a bottle or two of fine sippin' whisk(e)y brought onboard. 😀 So for basically one cocktail a day, Prestige definitely wouldn't make sense, especially if we catch happy hour pricing!
  18. Thanks LHT28, appreciate it. Not sure the Prestige package would make sense for me. I only upgrade on Celebrity because it opens up more selection.
  19. Hi everyone, I'm new to the Oceania world and have been reading this board diligently for the last few days trying to learn as much as I can. I have a question about the drink packages. My frame of reference is Celebrity as that is the only line we have ever cruised with. On to my question, with Oceania does the Prestige Select open up better (or more expensive) wine and beer options than you would get with House Select? This is the way the Celebrity packages work, if you have the Premium drink package better quality wines and imported beer are available. Just curious how Oceania does it. Thanks, now back to reading!
  20. Maine is an EZ-Pass state and accepts Canadian addresses for transponder sales. Super easy to use website, and 7 to 10 days later you have your transponder. Mine is mounted and ready for the trip to Cape Liberty tomorrow. (Leaving from NB)
  21. HC, maybe a name change is in order? 😀
