Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We booked Amalfi in the app prior to sailing. However it didn't matter if you reserved or not as you still had to queue the same. The MDR's had the same menu every day so I would just go with the one with a shorter queue!
  2. I have seen some comments about concerns with capacity levels. Those concerns are well justified. We cruised on Enchanted in August to Northern Europe. The ship was at maximum capacity. It generally took at least 45 minutes to get a drink in the day or evening (assuming it turned up at all if ordered on the app), 30 minutes to get a coffee at the buffet at breakfast and impossible to get a sun bed after 7am. In the evening, we reserved the MDR every night but still had to queue with those who did not have reservations. We could not get any booking at Crown Grill. We at at 7.30pm and when we finished at 9 you could not get a seat in the bars or the piazza so just spent time.wandering around hoping someone would leave as we past by. All very frustrating. Finally, the WiFi was abysmal and unusable - struggled to even open an email most days. I would not be wary on going on the ship if it is sailing at full capacity.
  3. I was on Enchanted from Southampton in August to northern Europe. The WiFi was unusable every day. You couldn't even open an email. People complaining at guest services every time I was there. Got a refund in the end.
  4. In August they showed the latest James Bond film, Premier League football and Belfast. Can't recall any others.
  5. I would be very wary about purchasing any internet package. The WiFi was appealing and generally unusable. This was one of the main grips you heard every day onboard. You might be able to send the odd what's app message but forget about opening emails or anything more than that. It was so bad we demanded, and received our money back.
  6. Yes the bedside lights have a USB charging point. The room has US and European plug points too (but not UK).
  7. I was on Enchanted at the beginning of August and they showed Premier League games on the big screen by the main pool on Friday night , Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. You can also watch them on the TV in your cabin.
  8. Yes there were plenty of servers walking around but it still took over 30 minutes generally for them to bring the drinks back (if they came back at all, which on a number of occasions they didn't so we just gave up and left).
  9. We were told by staff Santorini was open only for guests in suites, but others said if you queued they would let you in - who knows!
  10. One is larger than the other (I think Capri was bigger) but the decoration is very similar and the menus the same. I guess it's which one has the shorter queue!
  11. I agree with everything Teddy said above - far too many people. Not enough staff and many rumbles amongst passengers about having to queue for everything, the unusable WiFi and inability to enjoy a drink in the evening. Took 1 hour for 2 Bailey's to arrive last night!
  12. On the Enchanted now waiting to disembark at Southampton. In short, the ship is beautiful, but is overcrowded, understaffed and you have to queue for everything. I'm in the breakfast queue now waiting 20 mins for a coffee and have given up. Last night I waited 45 mins for two glasses of Bailey's and gave up again. If you have dinner at 7.30 you then can't get a seat in any of the bars afterwards as they are all taken so bear that in mind when thinking about dinnertime. And don't even think about getting a sunbed after 7.30am on a sea day - no chance!
  13. On the Enchanted now heading back to Southampton. In short, the ship is beautiful, but is overcrowded, understaffed and you have to queue for everything. Most the time I gave up. And don't even think about getting a sunbed after 7.30am!
  14. The app is very hit and miss. The wait can be longer than queuing at a bar or the drinks just don't turn up at all! But when it works it's good. The MDR queues have been around 15 mins at 7.30pm most nights. The food has been good and the staff very helpful.
  15. It was in the coffee shop in the buffet. You think they might have anticipated people would want coffee at breakfast and planned accordingly. There are queues every time you want a drink - these can be 30 mins or more, especially at busy times. If you go to eat at 7.30pm you then can't find a seat in any of the bars afterwards and spend time just wandering around. Happy to answer any questions to help future travellers.
