Not going to happen. Yeah, you'll show those cruise lines like Celebrity who's boss. So you are screwing the people that work hard and provide you a service by stiffing them. You aren't hurting the cruise lines bottom dollar. Nice! You are hurting those staff members a lot more than the cruise lines are by not paying them what the so called higher end cruise lines are paying. No one is forcing any staff member (employee) to stay after their contract period.
Simple. Cruise with those cruise lines then.
Or stay in the UK and or Europe!!!

Tips should be banned or people should stop paying them on mass so the cruise lines pay staff properly, they are a nasty American concept of companies not paying people. When the cruise ships are busy yes the staff do better but when it's not busy they earn less. It's a disgusting way for the cruise companies to absolve themselves of paying a living pay instead it's down to the customers and enough of them sailing.
Fares need to be raised and staff paid then tips are optional for good service like in the rest of the world.
Let's watch it with the "American" comments!!

On Apex now and dinner buffet has no grill station yet… but there has been a carving station each night and several nights the Stir Fry station has been open. Must say the bakery people on this ship are superb! The breads and desserts are the best we’ve ever had. Overall the reduced offerings have been excellent. They are actually using some seasonings and even the veg fried rice had a little zip.
We were very leary the first night but are totally ok if they keep things like this, although would really like a grill and/or pasta station. Had a conversation with one of the Exec Chefs who was standing around and he said they are kind of in a tough spot… if they cut too much people won’t come, but if they have too much it is wasted.
That's why a grill station is perfect...Heck I would be happy with a Double Cheeseburger with Fries
some nights..I should sneak in to Luminate..ask for that with a large diet coke...😁

Well I just took a look at the MDR menus for my cruise. They look like they are back to 80% of what they were. Where there WAS Tilapia most nights in the MDR and NOW it is back to some of the better cuts of fish. I only see Tilapia on one night and not on all 6. I can deal with one meh night in the MDR.
me too!!!

I don’t force anything on anyone. In fact I don’t even have a conversation about anything Christian with them for that matter unless they identify themselves as Christian or start a conversation about religion. If it is a conversation I respectfully engage in that conversation and respect their personal viewpoints. That is more than I can say for this particular thread where I see numerous posts attacking my beliefs. Not very tolerant of another viewpoint or lifestyle. I simply shared what I do when I go on cruises in reference to gift giving as was the request of the original poster. There are MANY Christians working on cruise ships by the way. You might want to take the time to have a conversation with some of the people who “serve” you and get to know a little bit about their lives. In fact, I became a Christian while I was working on a cruise ship. One of the dancers in the production show I was in as a singer kept sharing her faith with me. At first I was offended like many of you but after a while I realized she was trying to share something that was special to her. I was “empty” and she saw it. I had everything but absolutely nothing. She invited me to a Christian worship service in the bottom of the ship in the laundry room. It was there that I came to know Jesus. That room was FILLED with other crew members, from waiters, cabin stewards to entertainers. It was the path that I chose to follow. Im not saying I’m better than you. Quite the opposite. I am in very bad shape as a human being trying to be like Christ. I just know that when God leads I want to share what was given to me if anyone wants to talk about it.
But if this would be about any of the things popular in the world today...You wouldn't be attacked!!
Do what you feel led to do...You know what's right!!!

All I'm saying is there are plenty of positive and encouraging sayings out there without foisting your religion on other people. Being inclusive is actually much more "on point" with the true gospel message than being exclusive and using coded language (scriptures).
I think you have made your Point!! Can we move on??

Hey everyone,
At the Vancouver International Airport right now, about to start our journey to Miami. On Friday we’ll be embarking on the Celebrity Edge for the 10-day Southern Caribbean itinerary out of Fort Lauderdale with stops in St Maarten, St Lucia, Barbados, Antigua, and St Kitts.
We’ve been to most of these ports many times, except for St Kitts which will be new to us.
This is my third time sailing Celebrity, and first time on an Edge-class ship.
We booked this cruise quite last minute via a Blue Chip Casino ‘free cruise’ offer, after needing to cancel an early January cruise on Norwegian when my mom got sick over Christmas holidays. She felt so bad that we missed our original cruise that she paid for our drink package on this one. Thanks mom!I’ll try to post 2-3 times each day with what we’re up to, though my particular focus will usually be cocktails, food, entertainment, and excursion adventures. (I’ll also be posting lots of photos over on Instagram Stories; look for erin_braincandy if you just want all the photos and none of the commentary.)
Here are links to my two most recent “semi-live from…” threads:
I’m happy to try to answer questions as we go, so feel free to ask away. When you get to Bridgetown, Drink a Banks for me..😁

Please can someone tell me what is the typical time that customs clearance starts on disembarkation day. I understand that it may differ from port to port, I'm particularly interested in the port of Mumbai.
Thanks in advance

Fear mongering? I rather admire your attitude and also tend to be more of a glass-half-full kinda gal so I will also look for the positive when we cruise in March. But to call attention to the changes, cuts, up charges is hardly fear mongering. It’s just fact. I’m glad Celebrity has remained afloat, pardon the pun but I’m not about to sugar coat the truth or down play the facts as fear mongering. In truth, the room service fee and OVC changes… even up charges for lobster (I’m allergic) don’t impact me personally. But when Celebrity dilutes their product with such things it impacts all of us collectively. JMO and I will step off my soapbox now 😇.
Thanks For posting this, I called this poster out earlier..but the mod pulled it
Thanks Again!!

We're flying from Atlanta to LA on Friday and boarding the Solstice Saturday. We'll be in a Sky Suite.
With all the negativity on this board, MUCH more than the boards for other lines, I understand that post-pandemic, cruise lines must make changes to survive. Cruise ships need to sail at over 100% to make a profit and ships are still sailing as low as 25% full. This means they must get creative where they can.
Yes, there are cuts. Yes, there are bar closures, yes, there are new charges, but the alternative i NO CRUISING AT ALL. I'll live with the changes in order to gt my week of R&R, no matter what cutbacks there are. I'll be happy with what I get.
I accept that cruising is a privilege and many people may get no vacation at all, so it's time to shut up and accept things will be different, but still awesome!
We have a reservation on Princess for Alaska at the end of September and I was considering cancelling in favor of the solstice, but all the poor comments made me think that the people on board the Discovery Princess will be happier than the X passengers.

Email addresses are not case-sensitive, so LLutoff-Perlo@celebritycruises.com will work.
Surely not her actual address, but the 'call center' staff that responds seems to do so within a couple of days.
I have tried this email using both LL IL, it always gets kicked back....Is it a remote posibility that
the email address is being blocked from recieving anymore emails??

I absolutely hear what you are saying. Still, I think that people who enjoy being jerks simply enjoy being jerks. People who choose to be kind simply choose to be kind. I'm not sure the configuration of ships, or anywhere else, matters.
Yeah…I know what your saying about Jerks…I’m a Former LEO….
