  1. Hate to tell you but you paid a lot more than 60.00 over years of cruising to get to Diamond/Platinum. Don't turn your nose up at us as we happily board with our FFTF, we surely don't mind that you are ahead of us!

And I had a lot of good times with that money, and it was well worth it!!!!....and my nose is not in the air and I am not rich, I do not take 6 cruises a year.....But the best thing I am not is a CIVILIAN....I am Army,,,i respect people who have a higher Rank that me .which in this case means Diamond club or Platinums...I respect the disabled, and veterans that are older than me.

The problem with new cruisers is they don't know how much Carnival has Changed. and the New FTTF program is just a Money Grab. Trust me when you all get to Platinum you will total understand!!

    Have a Good Next Cruise!!

  2. so the answer is,

Carnival offers nothing as incentives to Canadians to attract against the low CAD dollar and exchange.

They just don't need us when our u.s. friends are filling ships and not suffering at all from any exchange and some of us Canadians are willing to pay a 30 percent premium to cruise Carnival.

Us, we have a US dollar account, and the Marriott Card, which has no foreign transaction fee and earns points and free night per year. The points and free nights covers our hotel rooms pre and post cruise.

Check this out, we AMERICANS...take a bath when we go to Great Britian....1.60 to the dollar or to Europe with the Euro....So everbody takes a hit sometimes..

Long Live Canada and the USA

  3. I hate to point this out, no I am not sorry to point this out. FTTF have to buy their way up not earn their way up.......And you are still behind the Diam/Plats.

After sailing since 1993 with Carnival..... Watch as I step in front of you to get to the Tender.........

    See you on the Ship

  4. Hi

Have a Question, What is the big draw of Galveston? Ill be arriving there after my Carnival journeys Cruise....I keep hearing bad stuff from CC members. Such as Extra Taxes on Your Drinks on the ship, Stupid old Tx Blue Laws, That effect you on the Ship. Trying to Extort Special Taxes on your Bottled Liquor even though you have a return ticket that day...Am I getting this wrong or do most people think these are small things.

    Thanks

    Mike

PS Long drive to Bush Airport for Major flights!!!!

  5. This idea is called faster to the Cruise. What you do is simple!!!

    (1) Stay Loyal to Carnival

    (2) Sail over 75 days on Carnival and receive Your Platinum Status.

    (3) No matter if Carnival Offers it. Have some Respect and try not to Cheat other who have sailed more than than you.

    (4) First time Cruisers who pick FTTL are Losers.

    (5) if your a Plat/Diam on you next cruise, and you see a FTTL go ahead of you, Raise hell.

And that all I am going to say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. There are some reasonable helpful ideas here.

If Carnival would implement those, people would do cartwheels!

Yes, to USB plugs & more TV interactiveness, that's just catching up with tech.

There could be a page on the TV to check what services you would like or this could be in the online check-in process.

Ice, towels, turn down, animals, morning service, etc... Could all be listed.

Carnival prints it out & the stewards know who wants what!

But, is all that (which I think would be easy) harder then just uniform services for everyone.

I like the idea of personalization of the services.

Yes, to good soap, adding conditioner would be FABULOUS.

Decent Shampoo, Conditioner & Body Wash would be so helpful & appreciated

A 1000 times yes, to a CLOCK & empty working refrigerator.

Even a ice machine in the hall would be so convenient.

I really think these additions would put them ahead of their competition.

The frou frou stuff being out is fine. I bring a razor, slipper socks, etc....

IMHO, Carnival is THE budget cruise line and has done well with that.

They will undoubtedly continue to lessen things to improve profits.

If someone wants a baseline cruise, they are IT.

If more service, a bit more refinement, shall we say; another line may be cruised

And yes they make cutbacks too as much as possible.

Money & Greed are what drives everything. Period, IMHO.

As society changes, so will every business out there.

White glove service in the MDR is really unappealing to a lot of younger cruisers, but some have enjoyed it for so long it is hard to look at cruises differently than how they used to be.

Casualness is how many live their lives now.

Carnival is the Casual Cruise Line out of all of the major lines.[

    Amen!

  8. What is a good way to organize a Cruise Critic meet and greet? vs just posting on the boards here. As in to get some involvement from cruiseline as well, eg reserve a room or a space, have them make name tags etc?

    Just asking

    Hi,

    (1) One good way is to find your sailing ship on CC Roll Calls. Once you have done that see if anyone has the Meet Greet set up if not then Volunteer.:D

    (2) Contact Carnival Guest Services and ask for a Meeting Place, a mic. and a ships Rep(Pursers staff.. Member of the CD staff to attend...ETC.. if you have a big group like 30 to 80 or more ...Stress that to Carnival....Dosent hurt to try...Maybe you can get a Senior Officer.... Also ask if you can gets some Freebees from Carnival to Raffle or Give out. If your Meet is not near a Bar ..Ask Carnival for a couple of Bar Waiters and..Follow up with Carnival the Week before the Sailing:)

    (3) Try and set up some trips on some of the Ports...Tours By Locals is a Great Start...So is a Pirate tour in Barbados...20 or more gets you 20% off.

    (4) Head to any Brand store or any Party Store. Party Stores have Great Ideas such as Specialty Beads. .leas....Id Tags ...Fun Things to give out at your meet.:D

    (5) Be a CC Ambassador ......Ask your Group..to buy the CC T shirt and wear them to the Meet.. Also if your in a Open Space and there is non CC members Invite them on your tours and invite them to Sign Up with with CC so on there next Cruise they will be at the meets.

    Hop all this helps!!

  9. beachBratt,

Thanks for all the Great Info on the Tour! I was wanting to take this tour, but after seeing the price just to get to see how they make the rum(35.00)they can keep there tour. Other place like Jack Daniels (Free)and Budweiser(Free)here in St Louis. I guess they don't respect there customers like they other places do.......The other PR rum is actually better!!!!!
