  1. Hey Check This Out...,Do you think that anybody should travel to Mexico anymore

    Fox News Latino

MEXICO CITY (AP) – The U.S. government on Friday barred its employees from traveling to the Mexican resort city of Acapulco, where a rise in homicides attributed to drug gangs has made it one of the world's deadliest cities in recent years.

The new travel guidelines posted online by the State Department extended a ban that already covered nearly the entire state of Guerrero, where Acapulco is located and which has been a flashpoint of drug violence.

American government employees previously could go to Acapulco as long as they traveled by air instead of land. They are still allowed to visit the Guerrero state resorts of Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo if they fly.

I think it time to give Mexico with is corrupt and Drug Invested system a wide Bearth.

  2. Hey,

I have seen so many people complaining over the last year about the Changes made by Carnival over the past couple years. I have also seen people say those things do not mater to them, and some people outright cheerleading for Carnival.....So as you all know Carnival keeps a eye out on these boards...so lets help Carnival(who has always been good to me and I like) learn before a change is to be made...

What would be the last straw Carnival would have to do to make you move to another cruise Line or go AI or more land based vacations?????

I will start with me.......Entertainment:mad: (except for Comedy Club and Newlywed game) and with RC coming with Ships with Riplines, flow riders... Ice/water shows...etc. However I am currently am trying to book Hawaii 2017 on Carnival so RC hasn't got me yet.......Lets Hear from You?????:D

  3. Trust me, when you're one of the peeps on board being delayed from leaving because some moron didn't pay attention to the time and holds up the ship's departure, you will join the hecklers. :)

This has to be one of the most ridiculous reasons people use to justify being jerks to folks that are late getting back to the ship. "oh you held up our departure", what difference does it make? are you trying to beat rush hour traffic? do you think they won't start the buffet on time? Who cares what time the ship actually leaves port.

It really is sad that so many people get so much pleasure out of others misfortune. And then justify that behavior by saying "oh they held up our departure and we couldn't enjoy our cruise because of it".

I truly hope those that enjoy making fun of folks being late back to the ship don't ever have an unforeseen problem that causes them to be late......because karma really does come back to bite you.

  4. There are many travelers who aren't as "savvy" as those who use and understand the intricacies of booking travel and TAs and "flight" bookings are a godsend to them.

It's great that Carnival has a source for those who don't travel much and would become overwhelmed and stressed if they had to work out all the minutia of bookings on their own. For others it is an option that is best avoided if they find it fun and exhilarating to work out their own plans.

Why would someone who "knows" the ins and outs turn over their vacation to a third party and then "complain" when it isn't how they would have worked it all out. Does the saving of a few dollars become so enticing that they abandon their own abilities...and then they blame the system for not doing it the way they would have.

I have no sympathy for the OP. They made their initial choice and they should have been aware that the choice they made wouldn't, necessarily, coincide with their exact wishes or end up being totally inline with what they had "assumed" would be the outcome. It's like booking a "guarantee" cabin and then spending countless hours complaining that they didn't get exactly what they wanted when eventually assigned a space.

I don't think Carnival is at fault here....I just don't think expectations were met and that falls on the shoulders of the person booking "cheaper" flights through Carnival to save a few dollars. What did they expect.

    Carnival Cheerleading practice is tonight!!!

  5. Id just go and wear long sleeves if possible and load up in deet. Sure it's only a 7-8 trip with 2-3 sea days. Go and enjoy yourself.

Op, I really do hope you do not listen to misinformed posts like the above.

It is easy to put out dumb comments. As I have been in Public Service(Police Fire Military EMT)since I was 16 I think you should listen to the Warnings of the CDC, and your Local Health Dept and most important your Dr.

  6. Hi, sorry if this has been asked, but will be Boarding the Liberty in early March,

I am a New Platinum (only took 23 years) but I was wondering if any recent Cruisers had any advice on when boarding starts in the Morning. Any tips would be appreative!!! Plus I heard that there some stores between Check In/ Security and main Boarding ???;);)

Thank You Fellow Carnival Friends!!!!! :)

  7. I know there are several topics posted concerning the premier cruises but I have a specific question about check in. I am booked on one this June on the Dream. I understand the perks include priority check in and boarding. Can someone with experience (preferably sailing out of New Orleans) tell me how this works? Do the premier folks have a separate line or area to check in and board or do they gather with platinum/diamond passengers and board at the same time they do? My boarding pass doesn't say priority anywhere. We are a few sea days away from platinum so I hope this will be a nice perk. Also, I assume FTTF with the premier perks would be a waste?

Really Can this be true...now a new group has Priority Boarding?

  8. If you have anything of value lock it in the safe. No one is going to take your clothes or your cosmetics. If you have huge items that you are worried about...pack a suitcase and have security lock it up somewhere. I think I would rather have my room dried than worry about some stuff, that realistically no one wants.

WoW, I didn't know that you were in Law Enforcement or trained in Security .I have been reading your comments for months now and you seem to be a expert in everything, so I am not surprised for your comments here ...... .I have been involved in Police work both Military and civilian and security since I was 15....and yes people will steal anything that isn't tied down...What Carnival needs to do is keep a Couple of Cabins free for this type of problem.

Also the OP needs to be compsated for her troubles!!!!

  9. I'm not necessarily opposed to this. Usually when I am on vacation, i'm willing to spend a little more. Any other scenario, i'd just roll my eyes. Carnival is evidently makes a living betting on the same thing.

What I always find is every time a company starts to roll out nickle and diming for their loyal customers (and they are. Face it.), most people just nod their heads and go along with it. The said customers then begin chanting the phrase "take from us an inch and we will let you go a mile" outside company HQ as Carnival's CEO smiles from his office chair, petting is cat in his lap.

    Stay tuned. More to come.

Carnival is being run by Spectre??????? Well as of the Changes made by Carnival ...I should have guessed that!!!!!!

  10. Hate to tell you but you paid a lot more than 60.00 over years of cruising to get to Diamond/Platinum. Don't turn your nose up at us as we happily board with our FFTF, we surely don't mind that you are ahead of us!

And I had a lot of good times with that money, and it was well worth it!!!!....and my nose is not in the air and I am not rich, I do not take 6 cruises a year.....But the best thing I am not is a CIVILIAN....I am Army,,,i respect people who have a higher Rank that me .which in this case means Diamond club or Platinums...I respect the disabled, and veterans that are older than me.

The problem with new cruisers is they don't know how much Carnival has Changed. and the New FTTF program is just a Money Grab. Trust me when you all get to Platinum you will total understand!!

    Have a Good Next Cruise!!

  11. so the answer is,

Carnival offers nothing as incentives to Canadians to attract against the low CAD dollar and exchange.

They just don't need us when our u.s. friends are filling ships and not suffering at all from any exchange and some of us Canadians are willing to pay a 30 percent premium to cruise Carnival.

Us, we have a US dollar account, and the Marriott Card, which has no foreign transaction fee and earns points and free night per year. The points and free nights covers our hotel rooms pre and post cruise.

Check this out, we AMERICANS...take a bath when we go to Great Britian....1.60 to the dollar or to Europe with the Euro....So everbody takes a hit sometimes..

Long Live Canada and the USA
