  1. The weird thing is that it is not showing up on my cruise planner as a Package to

It is not unusual, as long as it is on the guest copy of your invoice it will only take a few mins to sort out onboard if it doesn’t show up on your card onboard.

Like people have said ...It is gone from the cruise planner as a option to buy...getting kind of sick of all this BS with Celebrity...I guess it's another call to the TA on Tuesday!!🤬

The buffet has always looked pared down like that at night on their ships.  If there are a lot of kids on the ship, they (in the past) had a station set up for them with chicken fingers, mac n cheese, etc., with foods kids liked and adults helped themselves to what they put on that station as well.

At this point...Chicken fingers and Mac and Cheese are looking pretty good right now!!😁

We are 2 long term non suite Celebrity cruisers at E-plus loyalty level, quite frankly with all the cutbacks and changes we no longer feel valued in any way by Celebrity, the product is not deserving of the price being asked in any way shape or form, having taken a Canaries cruise on Silhouette last October to use up our FCCs from covid cancellations, i cannot see us ever taking another cruise on this line. Of course there will be plenty of newbies to take our place - they (X) hope!

Or Newbies complaining to their TA!!!🤬

I agree! We were on a Princess Ship in Brazil and these "ladies" showed up showing their Huchi Kuchi's.... on Formal night. The Matre D said "There are Brazilian." Yes, I was uncomfortable with DH looking at all that skin. It certainly put a pall on my dinner which the waiter really tried to make up.

FYI, I have not booked Princess again

This is exactly to the point. Follow the rules.

Sound's like a Great Dinner for me, ..."Waiter I am a solo... Can i be seated with the group from Brazil!!"

When entering a Celebrity's MDR, the atmosphere is classic, elegant, and upscale. The staff is dressed to impress. As well as the food and service. Save your shorts for McDonalds. Better yet, READ the dress code for a cruise line before booking. Maybe Celebrity does not fit into your wardrobe.

"As well as the food and service"...That remains to be seen!!

Question regarding recent cruises where masks and vaccinations are now not required:

We will be wearing masks in indoor spaces on the cruise and have some questions. We understand we will be in the minority. Please no hostile, political or judgemental responses to the following questions. Just the facts please.

1.Are any of the cruise staff ie cabin stewards restaurant staff wearing masks?

    2. Approximate percentage of guests who may be wearing masks.

3.If you have been on a cruise and there was a covid outbreak in the last month was the ship transparent about it? We understand that the CDC no longer reports covid cases to the public on ships, only categorizes the status of severity of outbreaks.

    Thank You

I don't have a problem with people wearing the "Right" mask.....N95 or even a Surgical Mask ...but these cloth and paper mask....Please!!!🙄Sorry forgot to add I am a Former EMT instructor..

Except this may not be the answer.

Often times policy and the actual practice in place are different (think HAL). Changes to the ocean view cafe' are very recent (not sure how old that photo is). Celebrity has not made a formal announcement that the ocean view buffet choices have been scaled back. Therefore; it is likely men will be boarding without packing shorts because they have not anticipated this change.  Doubtful Celebrity will summons them to eating for 7  days off the very limited menu that has been reported.

Also; when calling Celebrity to express concerns about the buffet changes, the representative is stating shorts are allowed since it is Celebrity that made the changes to the ocean view cafe. So there we have it. At least one person from Celebrity stating shorts are no longer a hard no in the MDR for dinner (have they ever REALLY been a hard no? We follow the rules and DH will put on pants when in the dining room, but I absolutely have witnessed shorts (although never on chic night).

People want choice. Up until last week, people had a choice to get a fresh, hot, healthy meal while dining in shorts and choose to sail Celebrity. It appears that choice has been removed. I suspect accommodations will be made.

    Eating Healthy on a Cruise..*****🤬

Dress Code/shorts/flip-flops in the Dining Room conversations have been Cruise Critic fodder for years! And I freely admit that years ago, I was somewhat bothered when I saw grown men sporting T-shirts and shorts and baseball caps being allowed in. (I'd silently cheer if they were turned away.) We don't wear ball gowns or tuxes or anything that cumbersome, but we've always tried to look "nice" for the dining room. Still do ... our choice.

But am I still bothered if someone wants to hold "casual/comfortable" to a lower bar? Heck no! We sit at a table for two. What you wear is your own business. Of course, I wouldn't want to be next to a guy in a tank top with hairy armpits and a baseball cap that advertises political slogans! Probably though, that guy would prefer to be in the Ocean View anyway.

Times are different and I am older. I won't lower my standards, but I've learned to go with the flow.

Some of the Baseball caps..and if they are Authentics MLB can go for upward of $50+ a piece now😜

One thing that came back were CHOCOLATES! Do you remember when they took those away????? There was a a REVOLT!

Other things that are no more:

1.The Speakers. They had a speaker from NASA talking about what NASA discoveries had contributed to society, such as velcro. Another talked about the dimishing of the gold standard etc, etc

2.Crafts, they used to have people to teach you deccpage, counted cross stitch and more. They were people who got their cabin for free and had the cost of the their supplies covered. On our last cruise, they offered adult coloring......

3.The Captains Club Gala: We a huge party in the sky lounge with roast beef, sushi, homemade ice cream, tea sandwhiches and more. EVERYONE who was eligible would attend. All the entertainment on board showed up to do their thing.

4.Mariachi's in Cozumel at 5:00 on the pool deck

    5.No more A Capella groups

6.No more open containers of qtips and cotton balls. If you get them now, you have to fight with the packaging.

    7. No more last sea day buffet! That was HUGE with chocolate waterfalls, Ice carving, fruit carvings, butter carvings. It was held in the MDR.

    8. No Suite Lounge entertainment.

These are the things I remember. I am sure others remember more.

So there is no longer a Captain Club Party for the status's??

The bookings were made before the changes took effect.  After the changes it will be a couple of months before we see how bookings are going forward.  Because of very high non-refundable deposits there won't be that many cancellations.

Corporate management always think they are doing things right, that is why they are doing them.  I assume the management of Pan Am, Eastern Airlines, etc. thought they were doing the right thing.

I appreciate you clearing the air.  I do understand how my first response regarding the food sounded very sided towards Celebrity and that may be due to me being an optimist in most situations.  However, I do feel as though Celebrity has an opportunity to increase the quality of their food while cutting costs in order to stay profitable given the recent surge in food costs.  When a business dedicates efforts towards a smaller subset of activities (in this case food options) that allows for better control of those pared-down activities.  Cut the fat out (literally) and get down to the good stuff.

There will be those that are very directly affected by these changes and will see these efforts as a way of downgrading the product, but Celebrity likely can't just keep kicking the can down the road and stay profitable at the same time.  The thought I had is if Celebrity can increase the overall food experience (faster and more attentive service at the MDR) and quality of the food offered (by paring down the menu to increase focus and quality) there may be a net gain in customer satisfaction to offset those who see the changes as detrimental to their vacation experience.

Again, thinking optimistically here and it's entirely possible that the management met and decided the easiest ways to cut costs is to reduce dinner service in the OVC and add a charge for room service.  However, I doubt that decision was made so shortsightedly.

Thanks for offering the post explaining your position...You clearly took the time to go through your position line by line Thanks!!....I agree and i hope these changes will be positive...but with my life experiences dealing with Government, Crime and Coporation's..... along with the new thought process in America today which is.. "Let rip everybody off"...I think that these changes will go in the wrong direction..Thanks Again!!
