  1. We're considering a May cruise on the Wish.  This would be our first DCL. My husband and I have been on a couple other cruises through RC, and our 7yr old son has never been on one.  Curious how much presence Marvel/Star Wars (both?)have on a 4 night.  Also trying to justify the extra cost with more than "Disney magic".  Please tell me the food is excellent or I'll never get my husband to agree 🤣.  Thanks for all your help!!

  2. We leave tomorrow and still don't know what we are doing in st. Maarten. DH is leary about taxis and being scammed due to previous experience (elsewhere). All I personally really care to do is go to Maho and watch a few planes and head back. So, what's the best advice on taking a taxi and what is the best time to go to Maho. What time should we grab a cab back to Port (leaving at 5). Are cabs plentiful at Maho? Thanks for any reassurance you can offer.

  3. I'd like to point out that, technically, the hurricane season does not begin until June 1. Even with that, the real action doesn't usually show up until late August into September.
I've lived right on the gulf coast for over 30 years so I'm well aware of how hurricane season works. Tropical weather doesn't have to start on the African coast to be a threat. What I wasn't familiar with is how cruises avoid the weather when possible and what determined cancellation. The prediction I saw for the coming weather was just that. However, that is what prompted this post so I could be as prepared as possible cruise protocols-wise. Thank you to those who actually answered the question.

  4. I thought I saw it one one of my weather pages but just now looking back now I'm not seeing it right off. It's not the first I've seen about the possibility though. But it IS still 10+ days out. I'd still like information on protocols with this situation. It would just suck to go on the cruise and have it be raining and rocking the whole time.

Eta: always a chance you take by going on a boat, I know. But there's a difference when you know ahead of time.

  5. There, I admit it. I do not have a great knowledge of how technology works. I use my phone to call, text, as a camera, and light internet/social media use. Period. I'm not going to pay for an internet package on board (that's what Voom is right?). I know that my phone will need to be in airplane mode and that it's sole use on board is as a camera and clock. But, in Port, if there is Wi-Fi, would I be able to access it? would roaming charges factor in? Should I leave it in airplane mode in Port? Probably questions to ask my provider (Verizon), but thought I'd ask here where no one knows me [emoji3]. I'll be on Oasis w/eastern itinerary.

  6. On our last (and only) cruise, we carried our bags and walked right off. This time we may or may not have to let them get our bags the night before. It will come down to how many bags my sis has and if we can carry our and hers (she had mobility issues). Ideally we would like to walk right off but if not, can someone briefly go over how it works? I know we leave our bags in hall the night before but what happens the next morning? We will be in Oasis, thanks.

  7. Tell me if I have this right. We reserve FNDR ahead of time. We find out when we get there (on board or at check in?)where they assigned us. Our job immedietely upon boarding is to go to our restaurant of choice (if different) and make the reservation there. Right? Are there any additional fees to expect? We are deciding between Giovanni's and 150 CP.

One of us has the soda package. Is this able to be used in a specialty restaurant?

MDR- we are a party of 3 with MTD. Is it possible to get our own table or is dining with others going to be the only option? Should we make this known at boarding or just when we show up to eat?

Which decks are specific to MTD?

Does lunch in MDR require reservations?

Misc. - Where are the locations for getting towels for loungers/beach?

On Enchantment, the solarium was very hot bc it was closed in. I see Oasis is not closed in but is it noticeably warmer or nice and breezy?

Thanks! Just trying to get my final ponderings in order!
