  1. Someone asked for the Funtimes for the Mexican Riviera in another thread. We were on the 10/6/13 sailing. I saved the fun times for you guys. :)

    Thanks!

Seems odd that the two nights in Cabo there is no listing for the piano bar. :(

  2. Guy's Burger Joint is really good and now I wish for it every cruise. I had the chance to try it for the first time on the Carnival Triumph after it received it following the extended dry-dock. Unfortunately not all ships have Guy's Burger Joint.

I wrote a review on my blog about Guy's Burger Joint and the "Straight Up" burger and thought I would share it here!

    http://www.embarkandaway.com/1/post/2014/01/review-ofcarnivals-guys-burger-joint.html

Have you tried Guy's Burger Joint?

What did you have? Did you like or dislike it?

TRUE - and I'm afraid it's one of the things we are really going to miss when we are on the Miracle in a few weeks. I know the Miracle has lots of choices - but I still think we will notice not having Guy's available. :o

  3. I thought it was much better then the previous Carnival burgers. My only issue was there was a tendency to over cook the meat leaving you with a patty with crispy edges

Absolutely! Now....this is NEVER going to happen....but IF we could get them cooked to order they would be darn near perfect. ;) :D

  4. Gotta be Triumph in 2005. It's the only non-Fantasy class ship we have sailed on with Carnival, so probobly not a fair comparison, but still remember how much I loved that cruise. Liked our first one on Paradise as well (it was the first experiment in 100% non-smoking ships that went to the wayside). Can't wait to see how 2014 and the Breeze compares!

I think you will find the Breeze to be TOTALLY different - but in the best possible ways. We been cruising Carnival since 2002 and are quite impressed by the "resort" feel of the Breeze.

  5. Hmm...this is tough!

If you take ALL of the sentiment out - because most of ours have a lot of that ;) - I guess the winner is:

    February 2013

    The Breeze

    8-day itinerary

St. Thomas, Antigua, Tortola and Nassau

A wonderful "pre-cruise" visit with good friends set the tone for a fantastic vacation.

We really loved the décor, layout and new dining options on Breeze (so much that rebooked with the whole extended family for August 2013), we got to experience new and exciting ports we had never been to before and REALLY enjoyed the "Champagne and Lobster Lunch Cruise" in Antigua. ;) :D

  6. I was just thinking the same thing. Same goes with the dishwasher. I'm sure my DH balances the wine glasses on the bottom just so I say, don't load the dishwasher like that, so he can say, then you do it.

At least you're on to his devious plan!! ;)

  7. Hopefully someone can answer this for me. When I email Carnival, it usually takes 3-5 years to get a response. :D Does anyone know if the center of the WCMC has undercooked egg in it? I ask this because I have a condition wherein eating eggs by themselves (scrambled, pickled, deviled, etc) or even eating something that has raw/undercooked egg in it (such as raw cookie dough) throws me into a gallbladder attack that will have me writhing in extreme pain for 10-12 hours. I cannot eat eggs in any form on their own, nor can I taste raw cookie/cake batter that has eggs in it--that is enough to throw me into an attack. :( I can however, eat anything that has eggs baked in, such as cake, pie, cookies, etc. I won't be getting my gallbladder removed before we go, and I really wanna try the WCMC, but if there is even a chance that there is slightly undercooked egg in the middle, I won't go anywhere near it! If you can answer this off the wall question, I will very thankful! :)

    Ask for one "well done".

They bake them on large sheets - so the outside ones are totally cooked and the ones toward the middle have less cooked centers.

I mentioned to our waiter the first night on the Splendor that I did not like the uncooked "gooey/runny" WCMC. Never saw another one!! Every night I got one that was cooked like a brownie/cake. ;)

  8. Dont believe they use bleach, just some sort of detergent and very hot water.

I think they do a fine job washing and folding but DW will not send out delicate or very expensive stuff.

    Agreed!

We like to get our jeans and sweatshirts washed so they are clean to go home. Those with some of DH's tshirts and maybe shorts is about all we send.

I also believe the laundry is put in to a mesh bag - and lots of mesh bags washed at the same time. So that may be an issue for some folks.

  9. Anyone knows which ships have these Vista Suites? They look so nice.

They are often identified as the best cabins in the fleet. ;)

Those on Deck 4 get the most attention because the balcony on 4 is the largest of the VS suites. They get smaller as the decks go up - because if the slant of the aft of the ship.

There is also one deck that the cabin is not multiple rooms - but I can't remember which one.

By far...the VS suite - deck 4 on any Spirit Class ship are our favorite cabins on Carnival ships!!

  10. Just be careful sending anything nice. Some of our laundry got bleached out on Ecstasy last month. I think it was an isolated incident, but better to be safe than sorry. I never send stuff that I'd be devastated to lose.

    Good point!

Yes...it's laundry but certainly not like doing your own laundry at home. :/
