  1. Have a good breakfast before you go and you should be fine and then have a late lunch.

Agreed...and I would bring along some granola bars, trail mix, pretzels or something like that to throw in my bag to take with me. Just in case! ;)

  2. I tend to pick and choose rules I want to follow and not bringing food off the ship is a rule I do follow.

I never buy food in ports. I eat before I leave and pack a few boxes of cereal if I get the munchies. When I get back on board I order room service and pour myself a drink from the booze I smuggled onto the ship.

WOW...well - at least your honest about it! ;)

  3. "I received a call on 10/14/13 from a man in Monterrey, MX saying he took my suitcase by mistake and would send it back to me."

Not to be cynical, but this man has YOUR personal information!:mad:

Not good...NEVER leave any identification in your luggage!:(

Remember, he called you out of the blue...Again not good!:(

REALLY???!?!? Since luggage tags are required to fly - that's a pretty unreasonable statement!

  4. We've taken advantage of the Early Saver rate in the past from Carnival and are looking to book a cruise for May 2014. We've been unable to find any early saver rates. I called Carnival today only to find out that they are not offering that rate right now. The rep could not tell me why they are not being offered, just that they're not right now, and that the pricing is up to the mysterious "pricing people." I had heard just recently that Carnival switched to 3 basic pricing levels -- Early Saver, Super Saver and Fun Select. Now wondering why I'm not seeing these choices. Anyone else having the same issue?

I never saw and ES rate for our February cruise either. My PVP says ES rates are not ususally offered - if there are other promotions.

Right now they are offering the military and friends and family rates instead.

  5. There is definitely something WONKY with the site.

When doing my daily price check for the Miracle in February 2014 - there are NO suites showing as available. But when I checked with my PVP there were still two aft wraps - plus others suites still available that she could see! :o

Hope they get it fixed soon!

  6. We are first time cruisers leaving December 8th on the Legend to celebrate our anniversary. Both of us are in our early 60's. i want to make this a special trip for my husband because he's such an amazing guy! he is a double purple heart and handicapped. Consequently, I'm the one left with the task of taking the lead and I'm at a loss of what to expect. any excursions that entailed a lot of walking or snorkeling is out. The one thing he does want to do is see the ruins.

Everyone started out as first time cruisers so I hope you'll understand. I'm reading everything I can but not much info on the Legend here.

any info you can share with us is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Diana

    Congratulations - and welcome!

Which ports are you sailing to?? That may help you get better suggestions. ;)

  7. We have found that the Mongolia Grill gets CRAZY busy as the week goes one. I think it's because more people figure out that its there and how it works. :o

So....if it is a "must do" for you - I would suggest doing it early in the week or for lunch during aport day when then are less crazy. There will still be a wait just because of the way it works - but going on a off time (not right at noon) and early in the week to work best! ;)

  8. It sounds great....lots of veggie choices.......what are the two noodle types?

I am looking to stay clear of salty sauces so I will probably do it plain with some water.

I would describe the noodles as a heavier lo mein type and a "glass" noodle.

Not the best descriptions - hope that helps. :/

  9. We have seen Calamari & Mussels on the Liberty & the Glory (twice) so it is definitely available one the Conquest class ships.

OP you can totally do no sauce if you want, I did that for my neice, just noodles and veggies for her.

    Sauce ranked by spiciness:

    Szechuan (hot)

    Thai BBQ (mild)

    Black Bean (very mild)

....and don't they put a little garlic in the oil - just as they get started??

  10. Black bean

    Thai Barbecue

    schezchwan (sp)

    are your sauces

Just the 3 sauces? Can you rate them from spiciest to least?

Those are listed in "spicey" order.

Black bean has no spice at all....szechuan is the hottest and DH orders it "extra hot".

I miss the teriyaki that they used to have - because it was a little sweet with no spice! :(

  11. The Mongolian Wok is my favorite place to eat on the ships that have it. They also offer calamari and mussels on certain days. The ones I've been on have had 3 choices each day for the protein. So, it appears that each ship is different.

I also seem to remember salmon on at least one ship too! ;)

  12. Have never seen the proteins change always beef ,chicken ,shrimp and pork when I have had it. Maybe like every other thing nothing consistent :)

What I meant was they change day to day. They only offer two on any given day. ;)

  13. I also remember at least two different noodles, onions, and bean sprouts being on there.....it was quite good.

I've also seen spinach, waterchestnuts, bok choy and nappa cabbage.....along with the standard veggies. But not on every ship!

Remember the proteins change daily too ;)

  14. That huge one reminds me of Farrell's. That isn't a bad price for the big one, but I agree I think a sundae should be free. So the key is buy the big one or don't buy any! I will have to visit Farrell's this week now...

Wow...I haven't thought about Farrell's in forever!

  15. Did the chefs table earlier this year, Awesome. Skipped it last cruise, but have booked the sunshine repositioning cruise, so I reserved the chefs table again (april 2014).

My question: how often does the menu change?

Not often! The one you enjoyed is only the second Chef's Table Menu...since it's inception.
