  2. I have to agree. The only thing that makes sense about this recent change HAS to be that they want to "kill" the agreement with NCL and Buffett.

Like others had posted, I originally booked the Escape for a few reasons, one being the initial announcement that Margaritaville was "COMPLIMENTARY." We are sun people and hang out at the pool so the thought of not having to don clothes etc. and meander into the buffet and instead take a short walk up for a burger and nachos was thrilling.

ALAS, that did not last long and NCL changed it to ala carte pricing by the time we took our first Escape cruise.

That said at the current prices I never entertained ordering and paying anything off the menu. Just way too much money for regular burger joint food priced extra on my cruise. Nope, not doing that.

Now 16.95 fee per person.... Are you kidding me? It WAS a ghost town on all 3 our Escape cruises and now will be guaranteed to be the same...

Well...that wasn't the plan, I guess, since Margaritaville is now on the Bliss too. I guess the service charge will follow - as well!

  3. You may "request" the best suite on the Celebrity Edge for our seven day journey next January, 2019.

    However, it's sold out.

For just $52,000.00 (for 7 days) you will be placed on wait list.:p

As crazy as it sounds - it’s sold - and as long as it continues to sell they will continue to charge that rate. Supply and demand will only work to bring prices back down when the rooms are not booked at the crazy rates!

  5. We can sail in the Yacht Club for less than that (7 day YC suite on MSC Seaside for $3900 for March 2019) , and THAT price for The Haven is Oceania territory.

Yep! We’ve sailed the Seaside YC - and had a fantastic time. Have it booked again for 2019. [emoji6]

  6. Agreed we will book one more time direct in the Haven on the Bliss in late Nov. 2018 to experience this new ship during a more affordable week. If I didn't have a credit from my Irma interrupted cruise I would have went straight to Celebrity for my next cruise. NCL Haven direct prices have driven me to try the new Celebrity Edge for 2019 if I enjoy the suites on Celebrity it's goodbye to the Haven!!!

Thankfully we had the Escape and Bliss booked before it went crazy. But that may be the end of NCL for us.

Tried MSC Seaside and they have a nice product. Will stick with them...at least for now.

  7. He may lose the "top feeders" in the process. NCL's Haven isn't the only "ship within a ship" in town.

Plus, with the bid process subsidized (IMO) by the increased prices for the "directly booking suite" guests, many people (myself included) are continuing to look/book elsewhere.

    Exactly!

Just looked in to booking the Encore for February 2020. $9600.00 for the Haven aft penthouse for 7 days is insane! Looks like more of my money is going “elsewhere” too....

  9. Regarding the aft corner suites (H6's) - perhaps it's been discussed, but is there any insight as to the "preferred" deck? I know on the Breakaway is was something like #9, followed by #12, etc.. as far as depth of balcony and overhead coverage.

Wasn't there something also to do with the configuration of the room on the different decks (placement of the bed or bathroom)?

Any idea how this applies to the Bliss?

    THANKS,

    Tom

Discussions early in the thread concluded that the aft cabin configurations and balcony sizes were likely to be similar to the Escape and early photos seem to confirm it. I can't give you all the details because I didn't pay that much attention. But Deck 9 - on the Escape - is the bed by the window configuration with the bath on the interior with the most balcony space.

Maybe Freestyle and or DougOut have the rest of the details???

  10. IDK but I have one on the 12th floor and I sail 5/10/18. Just hope it’s at least the size of the Escape one. I really miss the bigger balcony that’s on Getaway/Breakaway.

We've stuck with Deck 9 on the Bliss for our Panama Canal cruise in November. We've had Deck 9 on the Breakaway, Getaway and Escape...seemed to make sense based on history to stay there hoping it's similar!.
