  1. On Breakaway in July I logged onto the ship network and then opened my browser. This took me to the ship log in page. Entered Cabin and name and then it showed what package I had and there were options to use the $250 dollar allowance to upgrade to another package - I went for the standard unlimited deal which was perfect the whole voyage.

    It was really simple

Do you recall what you paid (after you were credited for the 250 minute package) for the unlimited package?

  2. We received a free 250 minutes internet package with our booking and I'm thinking of upgrading it to the Premium Unlimited package. I read elsewhere this can be done with just paying the difference between the standard costs for the two packages.

Please let me know who I reach out to upgrade. Can it be done on the website (could not find that option) or prior to the trip? Or does it have to be done on the ship and with who?

Sailing Sunday on the Escape. Cannot wait! :)

    Thank you for any responses.

I too have been told that you can upgrade the package for just the difference in cost. It is my understanding that it can only be done once on board.

  3. This has been Del Rio’s strategy since he replaced Sheehan. Not only are fares going up, but fees are going up. Since NCL became publicly traded, the emphasis is on beating quarterly projections. Great for shareholders, but not always great for passengers. MSC matched our status, and we are now Black card on MSC. The value is currently better at MSC, but there prices are also escalating.

The entire cruise industry is on a price increase binge. At some point, folks will migrate to other vacation options if this continues. By that time Del Rio and his ilk will be gone having personally benefitted from near term revenue and income gains.

    Exactly!

  4. Since you brought up "cutbacks", here's something I've thought about. I know I'm not in the minority when I say that the Playlist Productions are basically crap. Obviously, Carnival is doing what they can (whether we like it or not) to keep cruise fares affordable for the average family. However, I would not be too upset if Carnival raised their prices a few dollars per person in order to afford a live band and some better entertainment in the theater. I don't care about not having chocolates on my pillow. They weren't that good any way. I don't care one way or the other about having or not having tablecloths in the MDR. But I do miss having a live band and good entertainment in the theater.

Agreed....the loss of live bands is HUGE!

  5. I know that they provide hand towels, but for medical/personal reasons I need paper towels.

I’ll be using a lot of paper towels. I might bring in my own, but I’m just wondering if they do provide them.

Although they are not typical found in the cabin - I feel sure it’s something you could make arrangements to have for your needs. You may want to contact the Special Needs department to inquire.

  6. Being old fashioned, my DW and I are still not into using Uber or Lyft for anything we are planning in advance. I still feel much better using a towncar or limo service for bigger celebrations/important trips. I searched the boards and did not find anything current about towncar/limo serves in Miami. We are sailing on the Getaway in September and we are looking for a good service to use from MIA to the Marriott Biscayne Bay the day before our cruise (Saturday), and then from the Marriott to MIA the day after our cruise (Monday). Has anyone used a good quality service in Miami recently? Most of the services we see online have good ratings, but we would rather hear it from people here. Any information is appreciated.

We’ve used goairport shuttle many times from FLL to Miami hotels. We’ve done the town car and upgraded to the SUV service and always been quite pleased.

Check out their website - might be just what you’re looking for!! https://goairportshuttle.com/

  7. Thanks all' date=' for this information. We will be in the Haven Escape for 2 weeks out of NYC in November. Since we will be eating so often in the Haven, Margaritaville appeals to me for embarkation day lunch. Is it inside or outside, because leaving from New York in November will be quite chilly. Also, thank you for the Food Republic info on the first evening.

    Bon appetite and happy cruising!

As I recall the seating is semi-outside. Open air - but totally covered. [emoji6]

  8. What deck? We have an aft corner as well and have been on some ships where that gives us aft view and side view and others where it is still only aft so curious ....

quote=happy cruzin;56102351]If that was directed at me - we have the port side aft corner. So we get both views!! [emoji6]

We’ve done the deck 9 Haven Aft Penthouse on the Breakaway, Getaway, Escape and we have it booked on the Bliss.

We don’t chose the aft on the Epic because they are in the center of the deck - instead of the corners. [emoji6]
