  1. The concierge will book them for you.

You will only have your platinum two meals. Unless you have any additional dining packages.

Bear in mind that on the Bliss Moderno is not there and this is one of your choices for the Platinum benefit. Not sure if they will give an alternative choice.

Yes...we are following closely to find out what changes there will be to the choices for Platinum dinners on the Bliss.

  2. This was the Ocean Blue menu of the Getaway just before Xmas... We ate there several times on it’s TA from Europe back to Florida.

The new Ocean Blue menu for the Bliss doesn’t begin to compare with the old menu and is certainly not worthy of the supplement in our opinion...

The Ocean Blue was always a dining highlight on other ships, it seems it will be nothing special on the Bliss..

I have no idea whether NCL read these Cruise Critic Forums but if they do, they should be made aware of what their longstanding loyal guests think of unacceptable changes like this...

Yes...that’s what I was expecting to find on the Bliss. But I guess not! [emoji849]

  3. Thanks for the tips! When I booked I got one free perk and I (stupidly?) chose the internet package as it was the only perk that didn't add extra $$ to my fare. I was also confused how the other perks would work since I am travelling with 2 kids (3 of us total). I know with the beverage package you are meant to have it for all in the room, but since 2 are kids I assume that would be switched to the soda package BUT would I pay the beverage package gratuity on both first and second person rather than one beverage package and two soda packages> At booking it just added two beverage packages when I chose that and it wanted to charge gratuity on them. I am still thinking of trying to switch to the beverage package - one kid wouldn't get any use out of the soda package as he doesn't drink soda, but if I get the other two of us free then it would all even oout.

Not sure the specialty dining would be worth it for us since the kids likely wouldn't be that adventurous - they like the classic "kid" fare - cheeseburger, pizza, hot dog...sigh!

You might be able to switch your perk to dining or UBP. It’s worth a try!! The gratuities are only for passenger 1 and 2 you will not be required to purchase the soda package for the kids.

...and if you decide to pick the dining your kids can still order from the standard kids menu at no additional charge and eat with you at the speciality restaurants!

  4. I’m not convinced Zakarian has anything to do with Ocean Blue currently. His name is not associated at all with the listing on NCL.com - for the Bliss.

  5. That looks like maybe the Raw bar version, I cannot imagine they would take off Chef Zakarains signature Dover sole dish for one.

It looks like a raw bar menu Especially since its heavy on the Oysters, 7 kinds, one green salad, no sides, no Crab legs or claws.

If this is the new Ocean Blue, the cancellations will flood in

I would think Escape getting a new Huge Lobster filled menu, makes this one look paltry.

We will find out next week, when people sail.

    Thanks for sharing,

this is the Breakaway that I did I cannot imagine that they would completely change it to a subpar selection.

  6. That’s exactly what I was thinking too. The sign is going to lead to a lot of confusion unless it’s specified that yes, you can use your Starbucks card. Because as you said that is the ONLY way one can earn reward points. Here’s hoping someone on the TA can advise during their cruise. I always keep a balance on my Starbucks gift cards so if I can use them onboard that would be great.

  7. Thanks, I misunderstood reading yesterday. It looks like this menu is already specific to the Bliss which is what I wasn’t sure of.

The menu looks really good. Still though, if we do any specialty dining I’m inclined to go Modena. Who say resist the call of cheese bread (that I can eat!!) and roving meat?

There is no Moderno anticipated on the Bliss. That location will be Los Lobos!

  8. Yes, it displaces Supper Club.

Its not just another specialty restaurant - it’s a multi-use space. Apparently at some point the tables are cleared and it transforms into a live country-music venue (Camille Rae is the performer when Bliss launches this week). Once that concludes, it’s been said that a DJ can take over for what I assume is ongoing, uh, country line dancing?

The great part... much like the observation lounge & night-time go-karts, this new space has the potential to draw people for longer periods of time. It’ll be interesting to see how all of these additions & tweaks impact general crowd flow.

    Thanks!!
