Not sure which thread to include this.   I checked my September booking for Explora I and my invoice has decreased by $1000 and likewise my balance due is 1K lower.  I haven't the faintest idea why this has happened, but I am certainly not complaining.  The listed fare for each passenger is now $500 lower.  A total WAG, but maybe the 1K difference has to with an extended journey credit just now being applied.

    Interesting!

Where are you seeing the updated invoice?  I only have I info provided by my TA.

I received this floor plan for the casino from my TA for the casino I thought it would share.   Pretty small casino, but better than nothing.  One table for Roulette, one for black jack, one for Poker/Baccarat and 19 slot machines:

Spoke with 23 year veteran butler in the Yacht Club last week about Explora Journeys. MSC is treating hiring process as if entirely different cruise line. He would have to apply and start at the bottom and work his way up, no lateral employment opportunity.

Yes - MSC had worked very hard to make sure this is a completely separate "new" cruise line.

Nothing on the website . I chased our TA - the email from explorer had gone to the wrong place . Not sure what they are offering will cover the cost of a new cruise next September looking at current prices

Were the Alaska sailings that they have canceled ever open for booking?

Very interesting question.  I will admit to not caring since we enjoy being on a very international ship.  I have no doubt that most of the crew, who regularly deal with the passengers, will have varied language skills.  We have always enjoyed the Yacht Club because we would meet folks from all over the world and crew with a lot of different backgrounds.

I do suspect that Explora will have a very strong base of European passengers, because that is where MSC has their major base.  While Americans might be cautious about booking a new cruise line, the Europeans familiar with the MSC organization will not hesitate.

I'm booked on the 2nd half of F. I have a few more years to go before I retire, so I try to limit my time off to a week (give or take) at a time 😊

Has anyone heard from Explorer regarding the summer cruises that have been cancelled as Explorer 1 will now be in the Mediterranean

I heard about it from my TA - and read a couple of articles that also stated the change.  But have not heard about anything directly from Explora.  Did you check their website for an official announcement?

My dad travelled in the Norwegian Prima from Feb 5th for a week. He flew back to Montreal he was very sick. Monday morning I called the ambulance. Upon arrival at the emergency room, he was unstable. He had all of the Legionella symptoms. My dad is currently in the ICU  and almost died. He is getting a bit better since yesterday but still fragile. The MDs here thought he had Legionella and started the appropriate antibiotics quickly. We are waiting for the results of the sputum culture. What a week!

We also said the week of 2/5. 😮

Hope your father continues to improve!

I have been in the Haven, but never the Yacht Club. I can't understand why anyone would book an MSC cruise when you can get a wonderful experience on a more prestigious cruise line for at least the same cost. Even though you are isolated from the riff raff (that includes me) an MSC passenger still has to endure the inferior MSC experience. I've priced it out and think perhaps others haven't done their research!

Having never been in the YC - your exact words - how could you possibly know what the experience might be?? 🤦‍♀️

does anyone know about the company Onpoint? Am I able to use the covid tests delivered from the Post Office? how does it work? do i just facetime them and take a test with them observing and then they send me an email saying im negative? Is this acceptable to board the ship?

    Yes it is.

Got on board at 11:38. Cleared at 11:30. B2Bs are first to board then YC behind them. Lunch in the YC restaurant at 12. New chef in the YC restaurant. Chef Lisa left yesterday and is going to be the executive YC chef on the new Seascape. First question DW had when she heard this news, will I still be able to get my meringues ? "Absolutely" was our waiter's reply. Ahh, its nice to be home again.

The YC cabins were ready when we boarded. An announcement over the PA said that other cabins were not ready yet. At 2 pm an announcement that the other cabins were now ready. We got all DW luggage at 1 pm.

Did not get an email asking any preferences like pillows, etc.

Any issues boarding with the new revised Heath and Safety Plan that went in to effect 9/1??

It’s not MSC that requires the zero count, it is US immigration.  EM

Yes, but other cruise lines account for B2B passengers without making them physically get off and back on. MSC does not.

How does MSC handle B2B cruises, in particular on Divina if any recent cruisers have experienced this?

We did a B2B on the Seashore in November. On the “flip day “all those sailing the second week must get off walk through customs and then reboard because MSC requires a zero passenger count prior to embarkation for the second week.

In our case they took everyone down in one big group and we were reboarding  as they started embarkation for the new guests.

  14. Has anyone used OnPoint testing for cruising with NCL??

Seems to operate like eMed - monitored testing and an official result that you can give to the cruise line - but you use one of your test at home kits. Has a very reasonable fee.

FAQ’s say it qualifies for anywhere that accepts an Antigen test.

    @ChiefMateJRK THANK YOU.

I did not expect to have my parenting and consideration for others (or lack thereof) called in to question with a question about freakin' bubbles.  It would not bother me in the least.  I've been in the park, at parades, all sorts of places and see families blowing bubbles and have a few float my way.  Never did any of that enter my mind.  Sheesh.

This is one of those reasons I hesitate asking a question here - you'll have the people that give you a link like you're an idiot and didn't look there first (though I understand perhaps they were just trying to be helpful), and then the others that pounce.  Wowzers.

It was several years ago, but we - all adults - have done used bubbles, with bubbly 🥂, on our balcony during sail-away and never had an issue.  Enjoy!!

We are cruising Sunday and getting tested Friday, not the rapid test.

When the results are sent through an app, will MSC look at our phone or do we need to somehow print the results? Can you or has someone printed the results?

    We are scheduled at CVS

    Thanks.

When we sailed in November an electronic copy on your phone was fine.

This is the most interactive I know of. The Food & Beverage box will probably already be checked. If you uncheck it and recheck, all should pop up on the map. If you click the icon, hours and menus should open on the left.

CAVEAT: This is what was used in the developmental stages of Ocean Cay, so things could be different today. Though having just been there, it seems fairly accurate.

    Hope this helps.

    PERFECT...thanks 🙂
