  1. 2 days ago we did the jeep tour on Moorea. We were fortunate to have only 6 in our jeep. Mata was our tour guide and driver. Kept us entertained throughout. We went from hot and sticky to totally drenched on the ride back to the ship. Enjoyed the whole thing and the cameraderie of the other two couples.

Yesterday we were at Fakarava. Very skinny long strip of land in a crescent shape. We rented bikes which were very retro, which was great for me, having not ridden a bike in 25 years. It was glorious peddling along a very sparsely trafficked road by the gorgeous blue water.

. Strange how we see things differently- DH thought there really wasn’t much to see , while I was in heaven. After returning the bikes I walked back to a spot where people were snorkeling and went for a dip in the sea. There were some sharks swimming around, but I didn’t see them as I wasn’t actively looking. DH did though from the beach. I would say Fakarava is a magical place. Watching the Sun go down from the ship was a very special event. I am 😃

  2. Arrived at Intercontinental with no issues, other than the 2 hour delay on the flight as RachelG posted about.
We were really happy with the united flight, though it probably helped that we were able to take good advantage of the Polaris lounge first, so we didn’t really want much to drink on the flight. The food was really good, though. Pleasantly surprised. Finally watched Barbie(good), and Mrs Harris goes to Paris (loved that one).
Yes, the humidity is a shock. Once we got checked in we took a good long stroll around the property which was very pleasant. Almost full moon added nicely to the atmosphere.

  3. Sitting in SF Polaris lounge waiting to board for our Navigator tahiti trip( after a couple of nights at the intercontinental.
Trying to eat and drink the cost of the biz class flights😀

I will probably add some comments about the cruise along the way, as long as that proves to be not too problematic

  4. Hi all. We will be at the Sofitel for 3 nights post cruise. We have to take the ferry back to ppt on a Sat.
We would like to stay at the resort a bit after checkout time, but it looks like there are not a lot of sailings in the afternoon on Sat.
So, I am thinking we will need to take the 12:40 ferry, as there is not another sailing till 4 something, and it would probably be a good idea to not leave it that late just in case.
    Our flight leaves at 8:40pm.
    Can anyone convince me otherwise😄

  5. Ellen, thank you so much for the detailed answer. I did not realize the mirror had shelves behind-excellent!

Even though we enjoyed the F2 that we had on Splendor last Dec/Jan, I feel we will be quite comfortable in the del verandah. We are choosing it for the location- low and midship for a Cape Town to Rio cruise Jan 2025.

    Thanks again,

    Debra

  6. Roxy dog- may I ask how you managed with the small bathroom. Was there enough storage for all the usual lotions and potions the average woman uses on a daily basis. Any tips such as using a hanging travel bag on the back of the door?

  7. Lemon drop! Italian getaway- Prosecco, Campari, and grapefruit (unfortunately, these go down far too easily). Haven’t tried one but the Voyager martini gets good reviews.

I make a girly drink at home which consists of gin or vodka, pomegranate juice, ginger syrup, lemon twist, and a splash of champagne. My very manly brother has to have several at every family gathering. I doubt that one could be replicated onboard, however!

  8. I go to each separate offer, and they all show the same price- so it is impossible to tell what the actual cost is. The stated price is not the same as anything I was offered by calling Regent or my TA.
I would like to be able to know what the actual cost would be before contacting either, or at least to be able to have a starting amount to then calculate what it would be with discounts applied.

  9. Apparently Regent’s website is incorrect. The pricing I see (in Canada) does not correlate to what you are offered when booking, either through the company, or my very good TA.

No one seems to be able to tell me if the price I see in $Can. is before or after special offer discounts are taken off. As the price shown to me on the website is the same across all the special offers, it seems to me that would be the beginning price before applied offer, but apparently not.

The offer I receive is somewhat less then the amount shown, but nowhere near say for instance the at par promotion, nor the 20% discount promo that is good till Dec 31.

Sorry if this is all very confusing, that would be because I am confused by it, it does not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling, as I think a company should stand behind advertised pricing. I was told by Regent’s rep that the website was incorrect- not a very good excuse in my opinion.

I did book a suite, but thanks to book onboard benefits, (30 days before sailing on our upcoming cruise) we will have 30 days to cancel if we are irritated enough to do so.

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. It didn’t seem to be an issue on our other 2 Regent cruises.

  10. Tahitian big kahuna- thanks for the suggestions. May I ask…are you nota fan of Rudy’s? It seems to be very popular, but le lezard Jaune does look a little more charming.

we will not have a car, so do you have any tips to ensure we can get a taxi back to Sofitel after dinner?
