  1. Two weeks to go till we leave for the Splendor holiday cruise. We are taking 3 days to get to Miami( 1 to get off the island- we have a foot of snow here, and no one could get off- no flights or ferries running one day last week-1 to Seattle, and 1 to Miami, then 2 nights there before boarding), and I’m still a little anxious.

What on earth am I going to do for those 2 weeks without your lovely blog each day! Maybe you could just keep posting after you get home- love to hear about the gourmet meals you will be having, how about a tour through your house, showing us all the special little areas like you did on Splendor, and don’t forget afternoon tea😄

  2. GP, going to try and follow your lead re the things we didn’t do first cruise- thanks for the list(except we did do Sette Mari a couple of times, and loved it, as well).

You seem to know just what sort of things we would all like to hear about.

Wouldn’t you know, I just wanted to do my online check in, and my Mac had an attack. Grrrr!

I can do it on the iPad or phone, but I want to print it out, as well as mobile..

oh well, we certainly have time to figure it out.

Nice to see Zqueeze jumping back in here. Miss his wonderful posts- wish he would take another cruise!

  3. GeorgiaPeach, thank you so much for sharing your joy with us! If possible, could you let us know what the Sunday brunch hours were, as well, would you mind posting the hours of all the different restaurants(if that info is available).

Trying to plan how to experience it all on our upcoming holiday Panama cruise. I guess it would be best if I didn’t experience it all- but would like to give it a go!

  4. Ok, I may be a little anal with my trip planning, but really what else is there to do when you’re waiting for it to begin!

My question is can anyone help me with when the time changes happen during a Panama Canal cruise?   Do they happen when at sea or days when you arrive in port?

We are on this years holiday cruise sailing Miami to LA, which is great for us as we live on the west coast.

  5. From those with experience, we are on the Panama Canal cruise this Dec 20-Jan 5, and the only thing I have left to arrange is transportation from the ship to LAX (we are in Vancouver so a nice shortish flight home).

Can anyone suggest the best way to transport? We are doing our own air, but can we pay for Regent transport? Our flight is around 2pm.

  6. Catching up! Thanks both Bob and Cruzstart for lounge tips. Believe me, I will be sampling many (not all at once) of those Meridian cocktails. Will give Observation a try, but we tend to like the smaller, cozier lounge spaces(Voyager was our favourite on Voyager). Hopefully 16 nights will give us ample time to indulge.
So enjoying all the eye candy you have provided us with, Bob. Can’t wait till Dec.

  7. Bob- a question about Chartreuse, if you can.
I made a post about the bars at Chartreuse and Prime 7 asking if they functioned as actual bars, and was assured that is the case.
But now, looking at the lovely pic of that area from you, I notice the bar is caged off.
Any idea if that means it was not open for business, for example if we were to arrive early for our reservation would we not be able to have a cocktail there?

  8. Thanks Georgia peach, about the deluxe veranda suite I was hoping that Not a Georgia peach would give me her review re the bathroom and balcony.

I realize you are in a concierge, which would be fantastic. We are in an F1 suite for our next cruise, which is the same as concierge without the bigger balcony, though we were able to snag one of the angled balconies giving us slightly more space.

However that is probably as far up the scale as we would pay for, so there may come a cruise that we might only be able to afford a deluxe veranda, and those are the ones with the very small bathroom (most of which at this time I believe are not being sold as they are kept for quarantine use, but I am sure that will change as they get closer to capacity sailing).

Sorry to confuse things, and again so enjoying your thoughts on this cruise.

I tried to respond to the Viking comparison and I hit something incorrectly, so I will try again. We have done several Viking cruises and we noticed the quality go down from the first one we did.  We did our first Regent cruise in January and it was phenomenal.  The food was superior  and the options were greater.  The staff on Viking were pleasant, but on Regent  everyone was a delight.  Since everything is included on Regent it makes for a more relaxing cruise, you never have to think about the price of something.  We could think of nothing that was better on Viking.  We had a Deluxe Veranda suite and it was wonderful.  The storage space was terrific.  The last cabin we had on Viking was a Penthouse Veranda and it was better than their Deluxe Veranda, but no comparison to the cabin on Regent.  I could go on and list other items, but I think you can see our opinion.

Very interesting- we have a Georgia Peach, and a Not a Georgia Peach on this thread🥰, and a fabulous one it is.

We don’t see many reviews of the veranda suites, so it is good to hear your positive remarks (assuming this is the del veranda on Splendor or Explorer).

I would be interested in knowing how you found the bathroom in the suite, as it looks to be quite small? Which wouldn’t necessarily be a problem for us, but I am wondering about the storage around the sink? Is there enough space for all the toiletries et al for two people?

    Also how was the balcony?
