  1. I swear, there is never a clear answer to any question ever posted on here. Every answer has to conflict with the last one and so on.. I end up being more confused about a subject after I've read the thread than I was before.
  2. Well, it's all on the same Delta confirmation ticket. Is that what you mean?
  3. We will be flying into Amsterdam with a three hour layover before moving on to Bergen, Norway. Do we have to pay the baggage fee for each leg of the trip?
  4. How did you take a selfie on the Viking Voyager app? I downloaded the Viking Voyager app onto my phone but it doesn't really "do" anything but let me explore cruises and show me art. There is no sign in with booking number and no way to take a selfie.
  5. So, while we're on this topic.... We will be sailing on the Venus in September (before they lift the vaccination requirement) How is one supposed to prove your vaccinations? I don't see anywhere on MVJ to upload it. Are we supposed to bring our cards and show them at check in?
  6. @LindaS272 Thank you 😁
  7. Forgive me if this has been covered... We will be on the Viking BIE on September 2. I am trying to decide whether to just pay for the gratuities in advance or bring Euros to leave for those most important. I really want to give the room steward a generous tip and I'm afraid if I just pay for the gratuities in advance of sailing, they won't really get as much as they deserve. I see on my MVJ that the prepaid gratuity is divided among the entire cruise staff. What if I don't even interact with some of the staff, i.e. the specialty restaurant waitstaff? (I don't intend to make reservations). MVJ doesn't give the option of how much to prepay, just $238 per person. Can I prepay a lower amount while we are on board and leave thank you notes with cash to those that we really most appreciated (bartenders, room steward, etc)?
  8. I have put all of the information in our roll call. There are only about five others in the roll call and evidently none of them are interested. I'm starting to get very nervous. I think I'll put it out there on the Vikings facebook page.
  9. So happy to hear that you loved the tour with Boutique Tours out of Holyhead 😁 We will be on the Venus BIE on September 2 of this year. I booked John from Boutique Tours to take us on the same trip. I'm still hoping that someone else books it also as it is quite expensive for just the two of us. (600 pounds for just the two of us) I think I am looking forward to this tour more than anything. Thanks so much for the report!
  10. So is your room key also your ship i.d.?
  11. This Viator tour was a "small group" tour of the tower with an experienced guide. I guess I can just get the $38 ticket and do the self guided tour. I don't think it will be as special but it is what it is. Thanks everyone
  12. Two days prior. I guess I'll have to make other plans. 😪
  13. Our docking time in Greenwich is shown as 12 noon on September 15. Is it reasonable to assume that we could make it to a viator tour of the Tower of London at 2:00 p.m.? I know that the ship is at the mercy of the tide and I'm nervous about booking a tour that we may not be able to make.
  14. Here is a cut and paste of a posting by @Milehighgrandma
  15. What ship are you on? We are on the Sept 2 BIE on the Venus. I did the same thing and booked John at Boutique Tours in Wales for the private excursion through Snowdonia. Our rollcall only has 5 or six people in it and nobody is wanting to join the excursion. I am just going to budget to pay for the entire thing and if somebody else joins, it will be a pleasant surprise.
  16. After I made that post, I looked up Norway's policy on Melatonin. Our cruise will be starting off in Bergen) A lot of the information is old but from what I can gather, 10mg. melatonin gummies would not be legal because anything over 1 mg. is considered a drug. What I took away most was to just get a letter from my doctor just in case.
  17. Try Melatonin. I take 10mg gummy every night and I sleep like a baby. I hope it's not a controlled substance because I was relying on it to help me get over the jet lag while on the cruise.
  18. Good to know, thank you. We will be moored in Greenwich.
  19. How does it work when one takes an excursion on a day that the ship will be docked overnight as far as staying with the cruise tour and getting back to the ship? Specifically, if we were to take the London Tower tour, could we do the tour and break off on our own and make it back to the ship on our own? What time must you be back on the ship? I'm trying to make the absolute most of our time in London. We did get the two day post cruise extension but there is just so much I want to see.
  20. Has anyone taken this excursion out of Bergen? Did you like it? Was it worth it?
  21. Has anyone taken this excursion? How did you like it? Was it worth it? It's kind of expensive so I can't make up my mind.
  22. Hi all, Where specifically does a cruise line, specifically Viking, dock in Greenwich? I have looked all along the Thames on Google Earth Pro and can't find any dock or terminal. I'm trying to plan on getting from the ship to the British Museum. Does the Underground go out that far? Can anyone provide the best way to go about getting from the ship in Greenwich to the British Museum?
