  1. Emailed TA. Would like it fixed shortly as looking for a good flash sale for labor day
  2. That crossing was in April? November weather may be more chilly.
  3. No one ever checked what was in the cooler. It was only soda & bottled water. You aren't allowed to bring any food from the ship. I had some individual wrapped trail mix packs from home that I brought with me for snacks & we just skipped lunch.
  4. DaKauna- celebrity doesn't even show that I can buy premium upgrade now so something wrong. Last cruise it showed up right away & I kept watching foe a flash sale. I'll check in the am.
  5. Leek - great question. As a long time blue water sailors, IMO the front of the ship pitches more than aft in bad seas. The middle of the ship in a lower deck level experiences less movement. We have midship deck 7 on our upcoming TA & glad we have that. Sometimes crossing the pond will not be a pond!!!!! So I would rather be midship. I usually get my sea legs 3 days after setting off to sea if the conditions are more than 3 meter seas.
  6. Thanks DaKauna- do I call celebrity directly or go through my TA?
  7. OP here. I checked & I definitely have the classic beverage package but the trip planner & app still don't say I can upgrade to premium. My concern is they will probably have a labor day flash sale & don't want to miss upgrading. It's not been 48 hours since I booked. Should I call TA or Celebrity now or wait till when?? Thanks everyone
  8. I used the cooler in Bermuda also to bring to the beach. I got a number of people asking where I got it. It saved buying $5 Cans of soda at the beach. It folds up so great for traveling. I just brought it to SD in June- 2 of them. But our next cruise is a TA in November & we are spending 10 nights in Spain before it so probably won't bring it to decrease luggage space. Our last steward was lazy & did not empty the refrigerator nor did he lock it like I asked.
  9. We were on deck 6 last month in a cabin right above Murano- not an issue at all! The view was slightly obstructed but we didn't feel it was a problem. If offered at a good price discount from regular balcony we would take it again.

  11. I'm the OP. We have the classic package since we have AI but I usually book the upgrade to the premium package when I see a good flash sale. Last cruise I got it for $9 pp per day plus 20% gratuity. I'll check my order history & maybe the system just needs a day to upgrade
  12. No I usually just use the app but I will try that. Maybe the app isn't working right.
  13. I tell the steward to lock our refrigerator. Than I bring a small collapsible cooler & have them put ice in it everyday & put my drinks in it from the premium package.
  14. Hi we just signed up for a cruise & I'm not seeing anywhere on the app to purchase an upgrade to the premium beverages. Are they offering it anymore? We got the upgrade on our Eclipse cruise last month.
  15. That's not much compensation if you have to change plane flights to Quito & to the Galapagos. That goes for around 1G or more per person. So what about compensation for not visiting the islands you want? It's apparent they are staying close to Baltra.
  16. We did a land tour of Portugal & I would recommend just staying in Porto. It's a beautiful city but very hilly. Uber worked great in 2019. Follow Rick Steve's walking tour at the top of the city. Book a winery tour in advance. Go to Grahams winery for a great view & outstanding 20 year old port. Take Uber as it's up a steep hill. Great tour but booked when our hotel tried to get us in

  18. That's why I answered the other posts about dry dock time..... enough said ..
  19. I retiredsed from NAVSEA so that's why I was familiar with ships going into dry dock & delays. I can't comment any further due to security.
  20. Yup I agree & this is not good. This could take longer than they think.
  21. BTW it's correct that most times the propulsion can only be done when ship is dry docked. It would depend on what it is but this sounds like something major. Very disappointing. Please let us know what the compensation will be.
  22. WOW we are on the June 1 cruise so hope they get the ship back up & working by then. In dry dock, things never go as planned on ships I know from whom I used to work for. We were one of those that had booked on the Xploration & when Celebrity sold the ship, moved us to the Flora. So we would be disappointed if they moved us again. I was just going to redeem the airline points now to book them.
  23. Happy to hear State dept has finally caught up with passports! COVID closing really hit them hard as they could not work from home. I know many staff got other jobs & they also use a lot of contractors so they went to other jobs also.
  24. Thanks everyone for your helpful comments. Final payment isn't due yet so I'm watching the cruise prices every day now. I'm hoping they go down.
