Thanks all. Did not think so was worth a shot. Maybe some day they will have a rock band. I have to more cruises on her, then not sure of which cruise next. Maybe I will have to do an NCL monsters of rock cruise.

I have cruised on Mera twice now, and going again next month, is there a live rock band anywhere on the ship? I know and have been to the carousel shows, not the same. I am looking for something like NCL Syd Normans and RCCL club "not sure what name is right now". I do love that ability to watch live, not recorded rock bands and look forward to it. I just have not seen it on MSC yet, maybe I am just missing it. I know they have various artists around ship, but have not seen a rock band, maybe other cruisers may know and point me in the correct location.. Thanks.

I am mixed on this but believe BEN & Jerry, sorry had to, were dramatic about this. I appreciate some of the content on youtube about cruises, but believe some of these youtubers for profit have gone over the top. Maybe I am a little jealous that they get to cruise all the time and somewhat rub it in our face. There is moderation, but everyday and feeling that that they are privileged. I do know they can hold cruiselines hostage with social media as most people can and will with companies. There are people in YC that do not feel comfortable with that type of youtubing going on and believe some amusement parks have frowned or discouraged social media filming from happening. Again moderation, no drama if asked to not film and stop rubbing your constant cruising in our face. I have ranted enough, I am done watching the whining from those two privileged prima donnas. There I said what I am feeling about this, like it or not. Done.

I will be sailing twice on her this year, both in YC. I have yet to find or get this answered. Can you pull up to the YC tent in your car and drop your luggage off then go park. I have read that people park then drag luggage to tent. I have carry ons and luggage which will make it difficult, and wife has mobility issues. Every cruise I have been on, I pull up drop luggage to porter and then go park. Anyone with experience please help. Thanks.

I am just reading this now as interested in the prima. I have to say this statement struck me as extremely rude to PP view of how the prima looked to princess. Sorry you were upset about princess looking dated and not modern like the prima. I agree with pete and also look at how ships look, I am impressed by modern marvels such as cruise ships. I could say more but will leave it. Dang.

Thank you for the information. We did Celebrity Summit July 22 to Bermuda, Aqua class balcony once the price dropped, primarily so we would have the private blu restaurant. My wife likes foodie food and I like dining room food, Blu allowed you to order from either menu and did a great job with her gluten free request. MDR had waiting lines, blu you went when you wanted to for Breakfast and dinner. Shows not so great but ok, Coffee bar and lounging areas great, would sail Celebrity again if things have not gone downhill as you described. Going to give MSC try in November for Bermuda trip in YC. YC pricing with an inside room is 2-4K less than most Haven rooms on NCL. We have sailed a number of times in Haven and love it, but the price can be extremely high depending on ship. So far MSC YC seems to be much like the Haven on Prima, completely enclosed. Where other Havens are not completely enclosed. Right now with crowds and supply issues a ship within a ship is the only way we will travel,

I have been on a couple NCL cruises after pandemic and Osheehans has gone down hill, from lack of staff, food quality and overall speed. I thought of going there first on last trip but wife talked me out of it and went to savor. Almost first ones in there and fairly good food and service. By mid cruise with the maxed out number of people sailing it was taking two hours to have meal and forget Osheehans. When you get a pager at Osheehans, forget it, set aside two hours to be let down. I will say we became fairly loyal to NCL about 10 years ago, due to Osheehans. We loved the 24/7 bar food and became Platinum.

Just curious which Celebrity ship and room/class did you sail in?

I did and I know another veteran on the same sailing did not and he did not get the veteran items.

I just got off the Getaway on Feb 6 and received the military packet with the pin and a velcro patch specific to the ship and there are other patches for each ship. I received the coin as well, it is very nice. My wife and I were very impressed with the details and gifts, much appreciated. I have a wall where we keep a lot of cruise items and will probably put these items there also.

I was on this cruise, the weather is the weather no matter where or when, it will affect your cruise. I have taken 8 NCL cruises half Haven rooms and other half various rooms, we understand and have seen all sorts of things affect the cruise. Generally we are happy with how NCL has handled the situation. I was very surprised they were giving as much as they did, but I also thought at first that they were giving us 20% off FC, but reread and it says 20% credit of current cruise fare towards a FC, still not bad but not great. So I was a little let down due to my own error of breezing through the letter. I was also surprised when I looked at the points I earned for this cruise, it was suppose to be double and I actually received triple points, pleasant surprise. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised when the FCC shows up. All in all not a bad cruise, relaxed in Thermal suite everyday and did not have to cook or clean for ourselves, food was generally good. Two issues going on with NCL and other cruise lines as well as all markets, supply chain and staffing shortages. Add to this the high level of pent up demand for cruising/vacations and you see a lower level of service and offerings as compared to pre pandemic times. It also seems that the cruise lines took a big hit with no economic help during the pandemic, so they are looking for all the business they can get, thus the current state of cruising. I hope that cruising can get back to pre pandemic status, but with many things lost due to a down turn in the economy, they are slow to return or never do. In the mean time we will have to adjust our vacationing to the current status based on information from sites such as this. I still believe cruising is the best vacation there is, but maybe we need to look at inclusive resorts or staycations/close to home resorts as cruising pluses over those have eroded. Maybe for the short term we will look at more suite options to maintain the level of vacation we have become use to, but we do not want to play into the scheme of the nickel/dime upcharge push. We will look at staff to cruiser ratios if possible as we would like to see cruiselines limit cruiser levels based on staff for a pleasent cruise experience. Over extending staff maybe a short term gain at the expense of long term cruiser loyalty, but sometimes cruisers have a short memory due to the excitement of cruising, we are included in this. As the saying goes "it is what it is" but I hope we cruisers become more savy and more statistics such as more staff to cruiser ratios, supply chain levels etc are available. Right now we use these and other sites to draw details out from others experiences to set ourselves up for successful vacation matches while making sure our expectation level is accurate. I hear ya. My hopes were up for that 20% FCC. I guess it is not all bad.

I originally thought they were giving us a 20% FCC IF ANEW BOOKING. that is not correct it is 20% of this cruise fare to our account. Which I believe is 20% of what just the room cost. This is peanuts and disappointing. Of course we got $100 OBC EACH which seemed ok When I thought 20FCC I WAS looking to book NCL again this year. Now looking at MSC THAT is now sailing from nyc. MSc will match loyalty and since we are platinum should be fairly good. Maybe MSC will buy NCL.

? How does NCL treat a travel golf club bag out of manhattan pier 88? I have a rigid golf club bag that I used on Celebrity, at Cape Liberty they would not take it as luggage and had to carry it on. That was not a problem as it has wheels, and I did not have to worry about any damage or showing up to the room. Anyone have experience with this out of NYC? I think I would rather carry on. Thanks in advance for any help.

I had this same room last Feb 27, but do not recall the crew service door on this cruise. I did have similar situation on different NCL cruise, maybe Escape or Breakaway, I think I took video so they could hear what it sounded like, but it was not the Getaway, I looked thru those videos. It was very loud as it had an automatic closure when they came thru. We advised crew and they adjusted the closure and it made a world of difference. Might be able to find video and determine which ship. I am going again this Feb 1 but only in a balcony. I agree the not enclosed Haven pool area is not good, when we have stayed in Breakaway haven with enclosed and climate controlled pool multiple deck area. It was fabulous getting fancy drinks there while reading book or listening to music. We love the Haven spa rooms, as we love the spa and Haven. We only get when it is a good price, not sure I will ever see those days again, the extra points also helps with Latitude levels. I believe right now everyone is going on cruises from not going during covid, and it makes it not as fun, more of rat race. It was good prior and just after covid, now everyone is going on vacation, Disney, cruises etc. Hope it levels out soon or I will be making vacation changes and I will greatly miss the days of cruising. Will also have to try other cruiselines like MSC, have been loyal primarily to NCL, but with ALL the changes it may be short lived. I have taken other cruiselines and all have pros and cons, have yet to find my perfect cruisline. Sorry for rant.

Keep in mind that NCL reduced the FAS speciallty dining number by 1, then sometime after, this 6 pack of water was added to the offer. My wife is a heavy water drinker and we would buy a case each cruise, not a fan of placing our water bottle up to something thousands are using. We thought this was a good addition and would only have to get a little more water. In the end we ended up upgrading to the plus package that got you all water options as well as starbucks, two more specialty dinners and unlimited internet. The price was discounted as compared to buying a couple of the packages. I can see where it would be a big haul for all of the ship getting all those waters, especially when they are reducing to one turn down per day. Not a deal breaker, but everything is becoming nickle and dime with no discounts, true cost is quite higher than you realy think. Some cruiselines with true included drinks and wifi compared to others might be a better deal, like Celebrity.

Looks like I booked Nov 14, but this water package is a 2023 change to the FAS drink package.

I have been on Escape, Getaway, Breakaway, Gem, Bliss, some multiple times. Bliss is my favorite because of observation lounge, thermal suite, racetrack and restaurants. Between Escape and Getaway, have to go with Escape. Because the haven is enclosed and is great anytime of the year. The district brew house and food republic. Thermal suite!

Checked in yesterday for Feb 1 cruise and edocs show 6 pack, 1 liter water bottles x 2. We have the FAS bev package and upgraded to the Premium plus package

That is my understanding as well
