  1. on Nieuw Amsterdam in July and Rotterdam Aug-Sep. No receipts offered at bars on either.
  2. You will probably be the only tux wearer, but you will get compliments.
  3. We were on the Nieuw Amsterdam in July. We were in a neptune suite (rare splurge for us) and Club Orange was included. As you probably know by now, there is no separate Club Orange dining room. When you arrive at the main dining room on deck 2, there is a podium labeled Club Orange. Be sure to talk to the person behind it, or the other maitre my ask for your cabin number and lead you a non-club orange table. There is no separate entrance to Club Orange at the dining room. There is a vaguely defined separate section of the deck two dining room for Club Orange members. You receive a slightly different menu, with at least one extra entree available nightly. Also, at your cabin will be a room service breakfast "hanger" with a few extra items. Two examples of free extra items are freshly squeezed OJ, and Mimosas. Some people here are responding about Club Orange on the newer, bigger ships like the Rotterdam. Club Orange on those (we are just back from the Rotterdam) is different in that they have a lovely separate dining room.
  4. Home » News » Update ms Rotterdam Update ms Rotterdam Tuesday 16 August 2022 Message from the HAL : For the rest of the Europe 2022 season, the Rotterdam will divert to the port of Rotterdam instead of Amsterdam. This concerns the departures and arrivals on Sunday 21 August, Sunday 28 August, Sunday 11 September, Sunday 18 September, Sunday 25 September and Sunday 2 October. Navigator App and Boarding pass It is currently not technically possible to change the embarkation port from Amsterdam to Rotterdam in the Navigator app on the boarding passes. So, despite this change of port of embarkation and/or disembarkation, Amsterdam will always remain on it. The boarding passes and embarkation times remain valid for embarkation in Rotterdam. As a reminder, the boarding passes are the same as the travel documents. We do not send separate documentation. Guests will receive the boarding passes upon completion of Online Check-in via www.hollandamerica.com. Guests will be officially informed by the HAL as soon as possible. It is expected that this will be sent out as soon as possible. More information about transport options will also follow in this reporting. HAL, Rotterdam
  5. We wrote the name of the ship, Nieuw Amsterdam. But No one at our departure airport (Las Vegas) wanted to see the ArriveCan. When we arrived in Vancouver by plane on July 9, no Canadian authority wanted to see it. When we boarded the ship on July 10, no one wanted to see it. HAL upon boarding wanted to see our paper vax record, and the recent pcr on our cell phone.
  6. yes. i did expresso every morning, using the water from the avian water supplied. the pods were always replaced without asking. Nieuw Amsterdam 7-3 to 7-10-2002
  7. Primus, I thank you for your candid and helpful report. Sharing your experience is so valuable to the travel community. Jim and Grace Sunbury, Las Vegas
  8. Just back from the Nieuw Amsterdam 7-3 to 7-10. At the dressy dinners there were zero tuxes, maybe 5% suits, 40% sport coat and tie (me) and at least two gentlemen who wore their baseball caps. Note, the staff who wear ties wear spitty knit orange ones. I tried to buy one in the gift shop but none to be had.
  9. Last week the Captain said she was on her 500th sail. Still in great shape.
  10. If the question is about the fitness center, it is easily accessable to all through the spa area on deck nine. The fitness center is well equipped although not with a lot of free weights. I am just back. One morning it was a little crowded, but mostly not. There are many stationary bikes and treadmills. Good views. Water and towels available. Spa services are extra.
  11. Last week on the Nieuw Amsterdam the rack of lamb, and the baby back ribs equalled the best I've ever had. These were in the MDR. Prove me wrong, but I say all the seafood comes on board frozen. So that puts a limit on how wonderful. If you want fresh seafood on a cruise, visit a restaurant on shore.
