Thanks. I am glad I asked. The Club Orange FAQ only mentions complimentary mimosas & fresh OJ. It didn't specify breakfast only. LAX

New to Holland America? This is for you...AKA "HAL For Dummies"
LAX replied to Host Walt's topic in Holland America Line
Is the breakfast menu the same for room service and MDR (with Club Orange)? If so, the items should come from the same kitchen, correct? LAX -
I was about to ask if it's only available on certain ships. Thanks. LAX
-
Thanks. They are available outside of breakfast hours too, correct? LAX

Are the complimentary mimosa and fresh orange juice only available with room service? LAX

Wings Airways Taku Lodge - 9am Booking with 7:30am Port Arrival?
LAX replied to BeachTunes's topic in Alaska
I see there is an option to do flight only. Do most people end up doing the bundled flight and feast? LAX -
Do you mind sharing your experience with Coastal (like or dislike)? I am doing my research for next year and seriously considering doing a helicopter tour out of Juneau. So far, I have been able to find 3 companies (Temsco, Coastal, & Northstar) that offer such tour. I am trying to see if there is one preferred by more people than others. LAX

When I booked my HAL cruise earlier this month, it was a Saturday and I was able to book a lower category verandah stateroom, then add Club Orange, and finally upgrade to a higher category verandah stateroom with room assignment all while I was on the call. LAX

Is it available at other ports in Alaska or only in Sitka? How difficult/easy to find one? LAX
-
Do you know if it's possible to call the Fortress once in port to see if it's available to DIY visitors that day? LAX

Any independent operator you would recommend? Is mid to late June too early? My first choice is whale watching at ISP. If that's not available because of our timing in port, then I would love to see some bears in action! LAX
-
Thanks. It's probably too early to start emailing them to inquire about availability for 2025. I figure they are likely gearing up for the upcoming cruise season at this point. Have you heard of Northstar? That's another company I was able to find through searches. Not sure which one is the best (Temsco vs. Coastal vs. Northstar) if they are all available. LAX

Please share if you end up with other recommendations. I am planning for next year and want to know what options are available since we won't be in Juneau until the afternoon. LAX

I want to express my gratitude to everyone who introduced me to Club Orange. I admittedly was a bit skeptical because it sounded too good to be true. But, I was indeed able to book a verandah stateroom that I had originally planned on for a bit less while having CO included! I am sure there are still tons to learn about sailing on HAL (this will be our first). Thanks again! LAX
-
I am tempted to get CO when I am ready to book and want to double check that the fees for CO are refundable prior to final payment is due on a refundable fare. LAX
-
So, I was reading a different thread and someone mentioned that the community appreciation offers require submitting request within 24 hrs of booking. It sounds like most people reported requesting them weeks, if not months later. Is there such strict timeline? Also, do you need to be verified prior to booking? I have read AARP does, but what about others? LAX

Thanks. While the offer for booking a future cruise is enticing, the offer for placing a deposit is underwhelming. $25USD? I guess it's better than nothing if you only need to put down $100 for that. LAX

Cooking classes/Photography classes still around (on Eurodam)?
LAX replied to rnr4thatsme's topic in Holland America Line
If these classes are still around, would availability be based on region and/or season? LAX -
No discount or additional OBC for booking a future cruise onboard? LAX

How was your experience? If there are 3 guests in the stateroom, is there a way to specify a particularly guest as being the 3rd one (lower fare) so that the cost is lower? LAX
-
I am okay with that as long as the cost is priced accordingly. I can put the cost of more expensive fare on the other 2 guests' travel insurance for reimbursement. LAX
-
Oh! You brought up an important point about single supplement. What about in the case of 3 guests? Would we get refund on 1/3 of total cost for the stateroom? Or just the fare on the 3rd guest (lower fare) even though she will be one of the 2 guests with higher fare? I am not sure how this will actually work as the other two guests will have travel insurance through a 3rd party and if my elderly mother can't go, there is a good chance all of us won't either. LAX
-
That will work. I guess HAL doesn't have those large round tables that sit 10 or 12 (can't remember). LAX
-
Thanks. We will be looking to book fully refundable fare because it's too far in advance to lock ourselves into this trip. As much as we all want to go, lots of things out of our control can happen in over a year's time! The main reason most other travel insurance won't work it's because of the pre-existing medical condition exclusion on such early deposit. This plan would allow us to not lose our "premium" should we need to cancel before final payment (all other things would be refundable until then). LAX

For a large group (~12) wish to dine together, is it better to choose preset dining or flexible/open dining & make reservation for each night? LAX
