Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Mocha Chocolate Getaway (frozen,) Miami Vice (frozen, half strawberry daquiri, half pina` coloda,) and Court Jester (frozen) for me and Blue Long Island Iced Tea, and dirty martini's for my DH. Happy cruising πŸ˜„
  2. Hi .. Thank you for posting this. Can I ask how you place the order for room service coffee pots for each morning? My 70 y/o mom is going with us on our next cruise and I got her a balcony room (her first.) She ask me if she could get room service coffee around 7am and take out on her balcony. I knew she could, but as I've never done it before, I thought I'd ask. πŸ™‚ TIA
  3. Beautiful pictures & review, I enjoyed reading. Thank you! πŸ™‚ I'm from SE Kentucky and I'm planning a girls cruise with my mom (will be 70) spring of 2024. Charleston is our closest port, but have never sailed from there or on the Sunshine, but I'm seriously thinking about it. Your review helped tremendously!
  4. Did not receive any on our recent cruise on the Glory. I'll know now to ask the steward on our next one!
  5. I hope you have a great first cruise! πŸ™‚ Some tips .. Have all your important papers/passports on hand at the cruise terminal. If possible, have everyone in your party carry their own (if old enough) and it will save a lot of time. Like others have suggested, I also recommend checking out the deck plans of the ship ahead of time and seeing which floors you know to avoid because there all rooms. Also knowing which elevators/stairs will take you to the food faster and which is closest to your room. heh Once onboard, the Hub has the deck plans you can view. Also, if you're a smoker/vaper, know which outside decks you can smoke on. MDR, if you find that isn't your thing, the lido buffet often offers a variety of food from the MDR menu each night. At least that was the case on the Glory last month! If you drink, they do not skimp on the liquor. There's a few drinks I have to ask them to go "light" on. LOL Lastly, get to know the bartenders and servers. They're great and always so friendly!!
  6. There are 3 flavors that I was given on the Glory last month; lime, strawberry and chocolate. While I did take my own metal straw, I ended up just using the candy straws. Depending on how much booze I had consumed, I'd even find myself biting off the tops while waiting for my next drink. πŸ™ƒ To me, they aren't good, but they aren't terrible either. My DH didn't like the fruity flavors, but was fine with the chocolate straw in his Mocha Choc. Getaway. As mentioned, they do get slimy and will eventually fall into the glass like a sludgy noodle.
  7. As of our last cruise on the Glory, a little over a month ago now, we did get a can of Monster from the casino bar every morning on our way thru. Edited to add that we did have the Cheers package and it was included.
  8. Enjoy your cruise! πŸ™‚ CHEERS! INCLUDES: All spirits (including cocktails), as well as beer and wine by the glass with a $20.00 or lower menu price Sodas, Zero-Proof frozen cocktails, energy drinks, specialty coffee, hot tea, 500ml bottled water and other non-alcoholic bottled beverages Packaged water in the Dining Room and Specialty Restaurants 25% discount off the menu price for any spirit or wine by the glass above $20.00 25% discount off the menu price for wine and champagne by the bottle 25% discount off beverage seminars and classes EDITED TO ADD: If anyone in your party has a Cricut or similar vinyl cutter, have them hook y'all up with matching t-shirts. Much cheaper to make yourself if you have the set up! I'm making 2 for my husband & me for our upcoming cruise, but haven't decided what design I'm going to go with. Good luck to you tho, whichever route you go! πŸ™‚
  9. I paid it all at once. πŸ˜• Final payment date was Oct. 2 and since it was so close .. well, after clicking your link & reading, I see where I possibly hurt myself by doing so. Thank you, mz-s
  10. DH and me both received the same exact offer the last night of our most recent cruise. We booked another cruise on Friday using his name and his offer, for just the two of us. However, my bff is able to go with us now, after a misunderstanding and I noticed that I still have the same offer under my CCL account. I'll probably call my PVP in a few days .. but I wanted to see if anyone could tell me how much it would cost to change my name to hers on my DH's booking? Unless my adult son decides to go, I would just book myself as solo. We both get a free interior room with $200 onboard credit, as well as DOU for ourselves plus one companion while playing in the casino. This would be her first cruise, so I'm hoping we can work this out! πŸ™‚
  11. Just got off the Glory this morning and I tried several "new to me" frozen drinks and my favorites were: Kiss On The Lips, Mango Swirl and Court Jester. Only KOTL was listed on the bar menus (that I saw,) but I had no problems getting the others. DH mostly drank Long Island Ice Tea's, sometimes getting a Blue LIIT, in which they add blue curaΓ§ao instead of triple sec and no cola. We both also enjoyed the Mocha Chocolate Getaway. We had the Cheers package and most days I drank at least 10-12 frozen drinks throughout the day and only once did I feel a bit "buzzed." I think that was the day I tried The Cruiser and it was pretty strong, for my liking at least. I don't drink a lot at home and the bartenders do not short you on the liquor. heh At Java Blue, we both really loved the Ghirardelli Blended Frappes in double chocolate. πŸ™‚
  12. Woo hoo .. 11 day happy dance ❀️ I hope you have a nice visit in New Orleans. This will be our 3rd cruise out of NOLA and we really like the port! In 2016 we drove in a couple days early and explored the city. We had a lot of fun! Not gonna explore this go around, but looking forward to the road trip. πŸ˜„ This is our 13th Anniversary cruise, just the two of us. ❀️
  13. Looking forward to your live review and I'm enjoying following along! :) DH & me sail the Glory Sept. 3rd and we're driving in from SE Kentucky the day before.
  14. Hello fellow cruisers. Y'all are a wealth of knowledge and I appreciate it so much! 😊 So, I am trying to plan a cruise in early 2024 for 3 .. my elderly mom, my friend and myself. None of us can sleep in an upper and I was wondering what my options are? I do know there are cabins with 2 twins and a sleeper sofa, but I'm having a hard time finding these rooms. I'm looking into the Valor if that helps! I have not contacted my PVP yet, but will if need be. :) ❀️ 23 days until we cruise on the Glory for our 13th Anniversary ❀️
  15. Hello everyone!! 😊 I haven't cruised since 2016 and have been reading up a lot on the changes. I've gathered that we no longer get our S&S cards at the port, prior to boarding. Is this correct? And if so, where do we get them now? We aren't priority and probably not getting FTTF this next cruise.
