  1. We were surprised that there are only 3 gala nights on our upcoming 14 night cruise to Scotland and Iceland 14/7-28/7.
  2. Yes - we were moved to late fixed but very persuasive arguments used by Maitre’d to encourage us to use open dining - including dine when we want, prime table location including window seats etc.
  3. Recently on QV 27/5-10/6 and had requested fixed late dining which was noted on our booking confirmation - on embarkation allocated open dining. We went to speak to Maitre’d who was openly encouraging all who approached him to embrace open dining, we were not swayed. We got the impression that this was actively being encouraged with a view to eventually removing fixed dining as an option.
  4. In all honesty - we had everything on this QG lunch and dinner menu in Britannia restaurant on QV within the last month - except for the lobster. Not that impressed with the options in QG given the significant price difference and would be looking to order more off menu.
  5. Amazing viewing platform - our favourite place on the ship!
  6. During our recent 14 night cruise on QV I think we only visited the Commodore Club twice (unusual for us). A change in staff, drinks menu and lack of canapés left us feeling underwhelmed and not worth the effort of getting there, opting for the Chart Room and Gin bar instead.
  7. Thank you. Sounds like a well designed area of the ship - weather permitting!
  8. On QV 27/5 - 10/6 pork wellington was offered but not on a gala night. From recollection options for gala night included beef wellington, chateaubriand, fillet steak with an accompanying slow cooked beef item. I do not think surf and turf was an option over the 2 weeks - certainly no lobster.
  9. Given this is a warm weather cruise, and previous discussions about the grills terrace/hot tubs, how has the space worked for those in grills and have there been any issues with ‘gate crashers’?
  10. Our first experience in QG Q5 on QV we were given a table close to the entrance on the left, near a serving station for our embarkation day lunch. Approached the Maitre D on exit and requested a window table if possible - no money offered - arrived at dinner to be directed right on entry to a window table for the duration of the voyage. Excellent table and service and would never offer a ‘bribe’ to try to secure a better table - just ask and hope for the best.
  11. Thank you for taking us along and sounds like you have got off to a great start! Surprised there is a change of captain and entertainment director so early on in her maiden season! Is this typical? Be interesting if you notice any changes - being able to compare within a few weeks of your last time on board.
  12. Thank you for the photos and enjoy the rest of your day/trip!
  13. Good job you opted to stay on board and hope you enjoy the rest of today’s activities and especially the sail away!
  14. Obviously not! Type of comment I’d expect from the likes of Bernard Manning!
  15. Uncalled for cheap jibe. As a Liverpudlian I think this is a great decision and Queen Anne will be welcomed with open arms!
  16. Hi looking for advice on best way to cover a world cruise given told annual policy does not cover as over 30 days.
  17. I am disgusted that these infected, rude passenger's have not been escorted off the ship - obviously no consideration for fellow passengers or crew. Cunard need to explain their decision making process in this fiasco!
  18. It is definitely the rear of the stage which is always side on to the Mersey, and facing towards the museum of Liverpool, which allows for a large audience in front.
  19. Lucky you! Captain Tomas Connery is taking charge today.
  20. Sorry we embarked at Civitavecchia, disembarking same on 10/6, and we are not in Spanish waters so unable to comment. Service and food have been excellent so far in all areas and the chefs have been out every evening after second sitting in Britannia restaurant for feedback! World Club and Captains party’s back in full swing!
  21. Just checked on My Voyage app and menu for Commodore etc still the old one so no download available from that - I will take a few screen shots when I can from hand held menu.
  22. Also definitely no canapés - a few nuts or crisps!
  23. Currently on board and can confirm price increase/menu change. Martinis do appear to be $15+ in Commodore. Some fancy concoctions going on which staff are trying to master! No Vieux carre on menu but gladly made for OH and my Queens Negroni has shot up to $13.50 on menu but both drinks charged at $12 - who knows? Will try to upload current menus but unfortunately I’m not that savvy!
  24. Absolutely No! Past his sell by date and only a royal will fill this role!
