  3. The 13088 has a door to 13090 so it is not a solid wall. You might hear your neighbors if they are loud. For the buffet, there is more seating available at the rear. For breakfast and some lunches, we would stay on our deck until the rear elevator and then go up to Deck 14 . That way you don't fight the crowd as much. The MDR was quite good as we ate there 9 of 10 nights. Those two are the only ports that you will need to tender. On our cruise last year we also tendered when we visited Edinburgh. Our cruise did not go to Belfast.
  4. Two suggestions. First: Stateroom 13088 has a connecting door to 13090. Did you mean to write 13086? We enjoyed being on Deck 11 but Deck 13 should be fine. Second: I would recommend doing the ship excursion for Stornoway. The anchorage is about a 15-20 minute ride to shore. MSC's policy is to get the MSC excursion passengers ashore first. It took three hours before starting the general passengers tendering to shore. The queue to go back to the ship was almost 1-1/2 hours long. But Stornoway was supposedly building a cruise ship pier but I am not sure when it will be completed. Also, the Galaxy Restaurant for Sushi is in a very nice part of the ship on Deck 16 with great views. The Galaxy Lounge adjacent to the restaurant is also great for views and seems to be underused as a lounge.

We hope to add cruising Milford Sound during our planned 2025 trip to Australia and Japan. Our snowstrorm of up to 6" for today seems to be a bust. Just rain and freezing rain instead. Stay Safe, and prayers for those in need. - Jack
  10. Thank you Jacqui, thank you Debbie, thank you Vanessa, thank you Ann, and thank you Dixie for all your work. Thank you @0106 Tina for substituting and keeping the delicious recipes forthcoming. And thank you everyone for being here! My first posting on the Daily for this year. I just decided to take a break for the holidays but time to get back in the routine! Starting with: Up early this morning for lab work as I have my semi-annual appointment with my doctor on Monday. Even with the new prognosis on Sam's health, our plans for the April cruise on the Rotterdam will now happen as originally planned. Our dogsitter was already booked with someone else those days but our vet last year did not expect him to still be around. It is DSIL 75th birthday so we planned it to celebrate with a HAL cruise. With the good news about Sam, I had then planned on just staying home with him. But Sue's and DSIL's one brother has agreed to visit from Ohio plus care for Sam while the three of us go on the cruise. With all that it also requires that we need to re-evaluate our Fall trip to Italy as the inevitable decision about Sam will now happen later. The Summer heat is hard on Northern breeds and Sam had a rough Summer last year. Originally we were going to spend time traveling around on land besides a cruise to Greece and Turkey as well as a Transatlantic. Now we plan on just going for less than a month late October ending with the MSC Transatlantic early November. Stay Safe, and prayers for those in need. - Jack
  11. For the Kaito Sushi restaurant, the tables are in the aisle against the railing on Deck 7. There have been YouTube videos with complaints showing passengers dining there but having to deal with other passengers walking through.

  18. Thank you Jacqui, thank you Debbie, thank you Vanessa, thank you Ann, and thank you Dixie for all your work. And thank you everyone for being here! Sam had his six-month checkup yesterday at home and our vet felt he was in better condition than when she last saw him! His tumor hasn't grown and some of the fluid appears to have been re-absorbed. Her prognosis has changed (thankfully!) to possibly another year with him. Last Summer she was predicting making a choice by April.Sam is now 11 years old which is great for an Alaskan Malamute his size. He just loves her massages while examining him! 24. Well, technology marches on! On our initial trip to Australia in 2003 I used my first Digital camera whch was a Sony Cybershot. It recorded on a proprietary memory stick for which the reader is no longer compatible with my current computer. On our second trip to Oz we started in Auckland, New Zealand and only changed planes on our return flights (3) in Sydney. So here are some aerial photos from our departure on our flight to LAX. Our plans are to return Australia on our way to Japan in 2025. - Jack Sydney skyline Port Jackson Bay Sydney Harbour Bridge Sydney Opera House (unfortunately with so-so accoustics but an iconic landmark) Sydney Ferry returning to Circular Quay HMAS Melbourne FFG-05 decommisioned in 2019 and sold to Chile.
