  1. Just walked downtown from the International pier last week and sidewalk is wide and smooth ... no worries at all. We snagged a $1 DosXX as we left the port shops and sipped it along the way ... A Cozumel tourist guy at a kiosk we passed on the street told me I could have bought a 6 pack for $3 at any tienda ... :D

  2. Sorry but not that ... Once you enter the terminal there are two "perks" related to lines.

The first is prior to the security/bag screening where certain pax get to skip the line awaiting screening & go to the checkpoint ... I've never seen that extended to Gold since it's usually Diamond or maybe Emerald and above.

The second is after the screening where you officially check-in and receive your sea pass. Those lines are separated for non C&A and C&A and is extended to Gold ... But assess the lines for yourself because I've seen it where the cruise is filled with upper tier pax and thus long lines while the non C&A lines are wide open.

  3. Really two diff type days. Nachi is very chill and relaxing with more food/drink choices where Salsa Salsa is more lively and active ... seems that the salsa was around $180 / couple and Nachi is $110 + $34 for taxis ($144).

Depends on what you feel like doing ...

  4. Is it okay to purchase extra wine or champagne through the Royal Gift site? It will be delivered to your stateroom and some of the choices are pretty reasonable. In all, I would have 2 that I brought on board with me and a couple of bottles in my room waiting for me. Has anyone ever purchase from the Royal Online Gift store? Thoughts on my plans - is it okay to do this? Thanks in advance.

Sure it's a nice service & they'll also gift you some RCI branded travel cork screws if you do. Depending on how heavy you pour yourself a glass it works out to almost a free glass if you purchase by the bottle. Gratuity is added just like any other beverage purchase.

  5. Hi All,

I am interested in booking the day pass. Our ship is in port until 4pm. Has anyone ever had any issues getting back to the ship on time?

The Resort for a Day driver was very punctual on the pickup at the port and the resort. This is from their website so make sure you have enough time to enjoy your stay ...

The shuttle departs 45 minutes after your cruise ship arrival time except for ships arriving before 8:30am, the transfer will depart at 9:15am. Your return transfer will pick you up either 2 hours prior to your cruise ship departure time or 5 hours after your resort arrival, whichever comes first

  6. I think these cabins look interesting and if I was on a very port intensive itinerary and wanted to save money, I would definitely consider one.

We just had one last week on Explorer and it was our first experience with one. My DW commented that she enjoyed it more than our typical ocean view because you get a much larger viewing range that the typical portal.

  7. Hoping to clarify as I have read both this and the other thread on this resort. Some of the replies seem to indicate either the package changes or there are more than one available.

Can I book the $99 day pass with a pick up time after an early tour provided by RCI? We expect to be returned to the ship by noon. It would be awesome to while away the afternoon at the beach and board transportation to return to the boat in the late afternoon or early evening. Anyone have any experience with this?

Our ship won't leave port until 10 pm so we'll have plenty of time to get back to the ship later in the day.

Not likely since it is a about a 45-50 drive from the port to the resort & Resort for a Day picks up the paxs in a van, but your best bet would be to contact Resort for a Day with your question.

  8. We are going to do a day pass at the resort in Jan. Is it safe to use a credit card at the resort for paying the balance of our day passes?? I have some problems before in other parts of the Caribbean. Nothing major, but we always try to be careful!! Many thanks for any feedback. John & Priscilla

Most certainly because you pay your balance at the hotel front desk upon arrival. The hotel is a high end luxury resort with plenty of guests and amenities. As an aside, a couple in our group wanted to pay with Amex Cheques and they would not accept those.

And for those that we asking about the WiFi it is free in what they call the main hall, which is a beautiful open area lobby. We were able to catch it some at the pool but it would fade in and out there. However, it was really strong in the main hall.

  9. Last week on Enchantment we forgot to bring our corkscrew so when we asked our stateroom attendant to ice down the white on the vanity we also asked if he had a corkscrew. He provided one to us that they give when you pre-order wine from the gift/gear section of the cruise planner ... He then made sure to ice the white every day ... We tipped him generously at the end of the cruise too.

  10. Just booked this today for four of us. Seems like a great way to spend our 2nd day in Curacao.

Info says they will pick us up at 0915 at the pier. Looking forward to it.

When we did it the pickup spot was immediately outside the security gate. When you disembark go straight off the ship and not (right) toward the port mall. That may be evident to most but we were struggling to make it since we went through the mall and back down (left) to the security gate.

  11. Was the cost $109 per person or was that for two people? I'm thinking about booking this for our January cruise. My hubby only drinks beer. Do you happen to know if they had any American beers?

Think that the beer included in the package is Bright and Polar ... pale ale and american lager.

  12. My DW turns 55 next year before we set sail and we have already booked the cruise. I will not be 55 at that time. So we can call and get an adjustment., but is the adjustment applied to her fare or both our fares? ... BTW, the booking is under my name, but she is listed in the same stateroom as me ... assuming she reups for another year on our next anniversary & still wants to cruise with me next year ... :D
