Are the taxis at the port?
Yes there is a taxi stand with a Q line that moves quickly. Just follow the signs through the market.
The taxis line up and you get in the next one with the assistance/direction of the port workers. The price is fixed & posted on a "menu" board by destination according to the # of passengers in your party so don't worry if you board a van or a sedan.

LOL ... I called last week for a $10 price adjustment on a residency discount ... Hey that's one more Foster's Oil Can for me!
-
We love heading over to Clearwater for Oysters on the half shell ... You feel like you're cheating life when you can get over there in Dec.
Someone mentioned Ybor City and that is a lot of fun. It will be packed with college football fans on New Years Eve and there should be a parade of both college bands for the Outback Bowl the same eve.
Think it's Auburn and Wisconsin that will be there.

I am planning to do the dining room the first and last night. And then the second night try Chops

Second night will be formal night on a 3 night, though no lobster in the dining room.

One thing to consider when using the buy one wine/beer get one free is that the computer will automatically assign the free drink to the cheaper beverage.
My wife drinks wine and I like beer, but I do like wine with dinner ... We made the mistake of using her card before dinner on our most recent cruise and the bartender used the discount on my beer ... We were only out a few bucks since beer is cheaper than wine, but we are cheap ... :D

And if you make a nightly reservation for your group you will most likely sit at the same table every night anyway ... and not have to wait more than a few minutes.
Also note that the reservation time need not be for the same time every night ... just that you make a reservation.

Hi. With the new vouchers, and the ability to get drinks at bars with vouchers, do you think we'd be able to take a glass of wine out of the concierge lounge now?
We were on Freedom in May & never had any issues taking drinks out on our way to dinner. We usually had a few & topped off on our way out. In fact we saw people come in just to get drinks to go.

So does that mean I could get C&A points for this?? This would mean that I'd make Pinnacle in 2046 rather than 2047:cool:
Thom
LOL that's hilarious!

My understanding is that the gold card is your SeaPass (charge) card and key to your stateroom.
On FOS last month when we stayed in the "Sweet", we had two cards assigned to us ... Our lowly blue ones and one two gold ones. The blue one would not give us access to the CL and the gold one would not give us access to our cabin.
With that said, when we met the concierge he immediately said, "Oh you are my special "sweet" guests for the week." ... Tells me he, Raul, was expecting us.

How was the noise level when you had the room? Seems like there are different reports..Thank you!
No extra noise from the Promenade except during parades & the 70s party ... The crew door just to the left of Ben & Jerry's does get used a lot since it's the main door for them to move mid-ship. We heard it but it never kept us awake & my DW is a light sleeper ...

Just did Celine last week ... Was a fantastic day all around. Crew, food and open bar. It's really laid back and exactly what we wanted. The max Capt Neal will take is 18 passengers. In contrast, we saw the Golden Eagle pull in to one of the bays we were in and it appeared as if no one had a place to sit ...
After all the swimming & snorkeling we literally slept 11 hours ...

If by rocks you mean experience a lot of motion we did not find Enchantment to be rocking. We actually found it to be calm.

Make that $63984.
Just spent over 1 hour on hold to save $1185 and keep my $200 OBC. Hello Premium Drink Package.
LOL & kudos to you for the tote board of savings! I too was thinking drink pkg ... :D
-
Thanks so much. Now time to just re-arrange what's already in place and move on with my new OBC
And start checking out my new Island Coco Cay Bahamas!
Anyone been there?

We were there in Jan of this year ... Beautiful beaches and lots of hammocks in the shade too ... There is something magical about sitting on a beach with a cocktail in the winter and worrying if you are getting sunburned ,,, ;)

I have a May-2015 booking and called for a price adjustment using the 50% sale ... The Royal rep said no prob & applied the difference ... Saved $271
-
Hmm great to know! Either way I'm just happy it all worked out

Good for you & happy cruising!

Just wanted to give a shout out to Cruise Critic ... The Royal website clearly reads for new bookings so I'm thinking do I go thru the hassle of canceling my May-2015 Southern and rebooking it? Will I lose my preferred cabin during the transistion?
Instead I read here that folks are getting price drops ... so I call. Hold for like 5 mins and 5 mins later I saved $271 and kept my preferred cabin!
Thanks Cruise Critics!

Is there any advantage/disadvantage ( ie storage, layout etc.) to getting one of the Enchantment OV cabins that were added when the ship was stretched or are all the OV cabins basically the same. (I know the panoramic cabins are different - I am referring to the standard OV cabins only )
Thanks
m
We sailed in 7006, which is forward and under the wing of the bridge. It was roomier and as a result had an extra chair in the corner and room for bags & things.
There was also a faux wooden foyer and like Bob said it had the sliding shower doors.
Here's some pics ... and sorry for the orientation on them.
-
We like them because they're usually wider or deeper. They're also quiet and we like movement.
-
So do they open up part of the Viking Crown lounge at night like on the Sovereign class ships? What's the current protocol?
Last month I smoked mine in the designated smoking area behind the poolside bar, Island Bar, and had no issues. It's actually quite pleasant watching the water/ports while enjoying a beverage.
-
when u enter the ship at the port for boarding, which deck do you enter on?
thank you
Deck 4

We did it in Jan of this year & absolutely loved it. It was the right mix of food, culture & history. You'll be amazed that you will spend 3 hrs in a relatively small area & experience so many different establishments.
-
Thank you! So if you book a wow sale that price is not changeable. Good to know!
Glad to help but to be clear if you book a WOW sale you can still get a price adjustment later if it works to your advantage. But you cannot book at a full fare & then later get a price adjustment if the WOW sale is lower.
Also note that if you do book a WOW & later get a price adjustment you will lose any onboard credits (OBC) from the WOW. So no double dipping.
-
My main question is --as much as I'm looking for a good deal would it be safe to book a RCCL as far out as I can and just keep watching for the price to drop before final payment date?? It seems like I read somewhere you have limited time to change it?
Also, we are a family of 4. Our boys are 13 & 14. Will anything I book so long as it says 'up to 4' accommodate us or do I need to pay more attention to which rooms have Pullman beds, etc?
TIA!!
You're correct in your understanding that you can get a price adjustment up until your final payment is due. That does not include special WOW sales or limited time sales events. You can also upgrade to a higher level cabin if the price for it comes down & you want to pay the difference.
As for booking a specific cabin with 4, the booking engine on RCL won't let you book a room that accommodates 2 if you note that there are 4 in your party & you want one cabin ... So no worries there.
Happy cruising!
Where are smoking areas on Brilliance and Vision?
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
All correct but there is no cigar bar on Brilliance. However, there is also a smoking patio/deck on 13 (?) outside the Viking Crown lounge.
