  1. I have had no complaints at all about the on board wifi today. I've used it everywhere I've been and not had any issues other than having to relogin a couple of times.
  2. It's been lovely onboard today, not too hot with a slight breeze and a millpond smooth sea. One thing we've noticed is that after being hot outside, then coming indoors, it's quite chilly. There does seem to be a lot of sunbed hogging - I had a look down to the pool from the grills terrace and there were a lot of beds with towels and a book or hat reserving them. That doesn't seem to be an issue on the grills terrace, but a lot of lazy people can't be bothered throwing their towel in the bins provided when they've finished. Today's nonsense can be read at https://blog.rakkor.uk
  3. I can report WiFi is also good in the PG restaurant as well as the Royal Court theatre upper on deck 3. I've just updated yesterday's blog post with some nonsense about dinner in PG - https://blog.rakkor.uk
  4. This morning from our balcony
  5. The ship's internet in room 4089 seems OK, a bit weak lying on my bed, but sat at the table it's OK. It's a lovely morning here on a millpond smooth Med, you couldn't have noticed we were at sea unless you opened the curtains. I think I'll sign up one day at a time to the plan as this cruise is port intensive and I should have access to mobile comms every other day at least.
  6. In June last year we stopped in Soton on the way to the terminal as we had a 15:00 boarding time and had a very nice lunch at a specialist pie shop. Who doesn't like a pie ???? - https://www.piecaramba.co.uk/
  7. It went surprisingly well, I'd booked a people carrier from ziptransfers as they had the cruise terminal as a destination and at 45 Euros way cheaper than our Taxi to LGW. Embarkation was far smoother that Ocean Terminal as well, but the volumes of pax boarding are way less. I did make a big mistake which I'm kicking myself for which was not booking business class with BA which with the extra luggage would have been about £150 cheaper than Easyjet with the option to fly from London City which is a much more pleasant experience. On my last two boys weekends away I'd done exactly this taking my Bike to Majorca as a second piece of luggage.
  8. We're back on board QE for our fourth post Covid cruise. This time it's our first fly cruise, sailing out of Barcelona on a 14 night round trip in PG. This is also our first Grills cruise when the weather is pretty much guaranteed to be splendid for our whole holiday and Jane wants to take advantage of sunbathing on the Grills terrace. The Covid restrictions have been pretty much relaxed with only a couple of guests seen to be wearing masks, on the other hand all the staff are fully masked still. If interested my blog can be followed at https://blog.rakkor.uk but I shall post here as well answering any questions posed.
  9. It's the Antibes Old Town tour - We'll keep our eyes open and take a stroll around Cannes on return to the port.
  10. Get down to the Deck 2L corridor FWD and plonk yourself down with a book and sit and get your fix of the passing seas through the picture windows there. Also handy for the Future Cruise office to tempt you into another one.
  11. I actually got it wrong, our first French stop is Cannes not Villefranche where we're off to Antibes.
  12. I'll tell you Monday we've a 12 bottle Commodore's package booked for our Barcelona - Barcelona cruise - We need to top this up with a couple of bottles and was going to buy them when we arrived, but now I'm thinking of getting them when we dock in Villefranche - @D&N any recommendations for a good wine shop?
  13. Our last two cruises were in PG on QE. November last year and March this. The service we received was excellent, as always and we're looking forward to sailing in PG again in two weeks time on QE out of Barcelona. My blog --LINK-- covers them in detail.
  14. In March on QE Afternoon tea was in the Queens room. You've always been able to get scones and cream in the Buffet but no silver service with it.
  15. It was on our PG menu for the last two cruises in November and March https://blog.rakkor.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/AlaCarteMenu.pdf AlaCarteMenu.pdf
  16. You could have a look at my blog Link Here It covers all three Cunard ships in both Britannia and Princess Grill pre and post Covid. It give you an idea as to what we like about Cunard plus a few whinges as well. There are examples of the Daily Programmes there as well as Menus from our cruises
  17. I imagine the lack of a senior officers party is more to protect them than us. We'd be in a right pickle if they all had to isolate because of a superspreader event.
  18. I noticed in My Cunard you can book a 3 session pass for fitness classes for $39
  19. To be honest, I'd just book an observed test from Boots and do that, If you're in the UK - £14.99 Observed Test at Boots, I'd hate to offer advice which you act on and it turns out wrong and you either don't go or get charged £££ for it at the port
  20. In My Cunard, under Booking Summary - > Scroll down and at the bottom of the text is Bed Comfiguration and Your Dining Choice It's not to easy to find......... took me a while
  21. You remember it well, but that was strictly indoors, the transition from the Commodore Club back to the Garden Lounge was positively Baltic. I'd like to say in my defence - The shorts were the most comfortable option for my smashed pelvis, jeans were a little too much pressure on the scar tissue to wear all day.
  22. There are some examples of the Daily Programme on my blog (https://blog.rakkor.uk) under the Daily Programme section - They should give you some idea as to the daily itinerary. Pre-covid we always chose a table for ten, we always found this to be the best for us.
  23. What nonsense is this ????
  24. Yoga is available in the Spa as a cost option, no Idea how much though - It's advertised in the daily Programme (Example Link)
  25. Down at Jane's dad's for the weekend and the Covid fairy has struck. His partner wasn't feeling too good with a cold, so Jane persuaded them to do a test. He was negative, but she's positive with the strongest T-Line I've seen so far. So it looks like we'll be coming down with it, which may be a godsend for our upcoming September Cruise. I expect Jane's dad to test positive soon as he has all the symptoms, albeit just a light cold. Hopefully it stays that way.
