Freeport is an industrial port. Once you get off the ship there's shopping and food in the immediate area. However, there's no walking around beyond that. Anything you want to do requires transportation.
What kind of things does your traveling party like to do?? I'd hate to recommend something you're not interested in.

If your only reason for getting FTTF is for the HMC tender it wouldn't be worth it. Especially if the winds kick up and you have to skip it.

Right after booking ES, our rate (OV) went up and stayed that way until I paid it off. After that, it dropped back down to the original price. I did discover that the balcony rate came down. So, I upgraded for dirt cheap. :D This will be our first balcony.

We were switched during day 2 of our first cruise together. They said it was for maintenance. We went from an OV to GS on a fantasy class ship. We were not upset.
VERY nice! I wouldn't be either.
The upsell fairy wanted to switch us from an OV to a GS.....for an additional $600. I passed.

We found out the day of our cruise. We had been moved from a 4k to an 8A. Didn't know it till we got our cards. I was afraid it was one of those cabins under the lido but it turned out to be a really great balcony. Been nice to known before though.
Oh no doubt!!!

We found out at check in that day at port. I was not happy!!!!
Ewww! I need to keep on my toes, just in case.

I was sort of OK with the cabin I chose after talking to my PVP, but I really didn't like the fact that they never told me at all. If I wasn't obsessed with checking all the time, I wouldn't have known until I got on the ship and I would have been so mad that my cruise would have been miserable.
So keep checking your booking. This is true for everyone because you just never know. I didn't have a change in occupancy, a handicap cabin, or anything, just a plain old 4A. And yes, I was VERY happy I got my original cabin back :D
Will do!!! Thanks again for the heads up.

Daughter leaves hers in her carry on underneath the bed.

Oops, looks like I left out an option. Thanks for the info, I'll keep a close eye out on my booking.
Thank goodness you were able to get the old cabin back.

We're booked in a balcony that holds 4, but we are a party of 3. I know they can/will bump us to another cabin if they need this one. How do they notify you if you are being bumped? Email, phone call or when checking in?

I do a mock booking.

This is so handy! Thank you!

It's a flip of a coin. The weather closely resembles that of Florida.
Plug Nassau in your weather app on your phone or look it up on your computer the week before. That way you'll know how to pack.

Still playing around with Ebay and Paypal. Their support sux, they say oh it is a security issue, or a systems issue. No one can override the system according to associate. This is crazy. I got 1 card on daughter\s account and it started the same BS cycle. Even if you make it thru verification it then circles back and does the same thing. You would think they are aware of the problem. I sent several emails with no reply.

Thanks MtnDweller, I guess the PayPal rep was not correct, after doing some research I think I have figured out what the issue is. I am pretty sure that I have to have my bank account linked. Now just to wait until it activates.
Hope it works out for you.
The last few times this was posted, it didn't work for me. During the last sale, I added my bank account, but alas, I couldn't score any of the cards as the sale was over before my bank account could be verified. Now that it's attached, I was able to purchase without any issues at all.
So don't lose hope. This sale is good until October 1st (I believe)

We did our first cruise ever on the Fantasy in February and have the Valor booked and paid for in October. :D

Yes. They can be used for anything except the Fun Shops.
And wouldn't you know it, that's what I really want to use it for. lol Finally was able to score a couple, I'm sure we can used them for something while onboard.
-
Thank you. I have my CC tied to Paypal but no Paypay credit. That must be the issue. Again, thank you.
I don't have PayPal credit and I was able to purchase some for the first time ever. I've always had issues when trying to purchase these cards. I only had my debit card tied to PayPal, but recently added my bank account.
Do you have your bank account attached? Perhaps that's the problem.

Like always the weather can be hit or miss. Check the forecast for the Bahamas often so you will know how to pack. It's pretty comparable to the weather in Florida.
We went to the Bahamas this past February. We wore shorts and snorkeled in Freeport at Paradise Cove Deadman's Reef. We did the Frommer's walking tour in Nassau and were sweating. Had an awesome time though! When we got back to Charleston, it was a bit chilly.

Exactly this, especially if you notice a price drop.
This is what I did. Originally booked Early Saver rate on an OV and price went up right after booking and came down to original rate just after final payment. Kept checking for a price drop and it never happened for an OV, but the price dropped for a balcony. Scooped it up in a heartbeat for not much more moolah.

To find it in the future, on Carnivals home page of their site, hover over "Manage", then click on "In-Room Gifts & Shopping". Then on the left click on "In-Room Beverages".
You can also find it here. :)

We went to Paradise Cove Deadman's Reef and snorkeled. Transporation to/from is included in the price. They pick you up at the port and drop you off there as well. Never snorkeled before in our life, but they showed us how. We had a great time. Well worth it and would do it again. We never felt unsafe.
They also have other activities as well. Check out their web site.
