  1. Our flag is always up. We are a military family starting back to my grandfather (US Army, WWI, although he was from Sweden) and thank all vets every day. Our granddaughter is currently taking Marine basic at Parris Island.

Good luck to your granddaughter. Boot Camp graduation is one of the most memorable times.

  2. On our recent Indy of the seas TA some gentleman had a poodle or something similar:rolleyes:

Service dogs come in all sizes. A friend of ours' wife has diabetes. Her service dog is part Pomeranian and part Yorkie. All 5 pounds of him. He can detect her sugar level issues before she does.

  3. Our first ever cruise was in February. The upsell fairy called me and offered to move us from an OV to a GS for $600. Didn't take it as it really wasn't much of a deal. The $600 was the difference between what we paid for our OV and the going rate of the GS.

Have another cruise coming up in October. Have fingers crossed.

  4. We were on Valor in January, 2016 (before upgrades).

I didn't interact with nor pay any attention to whomever was the cruise director.

Not sure how a cruise director could ruin a cruise.

Same here. We create our own fun.

  5. Maybe scam is too harsh. But Carnival should at least point out the consequences of buying too much. Hey, you're on vacation; you found a good deal; you'd take advantage of the deal, not knowing what you're doing is technically illegal. I know it's up to the consumer to know the rules. But someone should, at least, enlighten them on the rules.

Nope. It's up to consumers to do their own research.

  6. Maybe if our room steward wasn't so bad and the cruise director was more fun I still wouldn't feel the same. Matt and Jaime are still the best CD's in the fleet, in my opinion.

So, what made your room steward so bad?

  7. We were all waiting for them to call the first folks to the boat, and I want to say the FTTF folks were called at 11:30 or so and I was in a numbered group 10-15 mintues after them.

Again I am sure you probably get other benefits with FTTF that I am not considering, but they were certainly not much earlier to the fun than I was.

Hey, 15 minutes might be nothing to you, but I would have already been in my cabin dumping off my carry on luggage and then headed out to get something to eat. You would still be back there maneuvering around the masses.

It also gives me priority with GS and dining reservations. I'd still be tendering before you AND I can debark while you are still standing in line. :D

    For me...........it's worth it.
