  1. When we sailed in March on Getaway we were able to use them anywhere. We went to Teppanyaki and Cagneys.
  2. A friend of mine has VIPMIA3 listed as a promo code. Anyone know what that means?
  3. Definitely will. We sail in August. So, I'll take a look after I check in and let you know.
  4. Human nature is resistant to any change... whether it be perceived as positive or negative. DH and I have been cruising for 20+ years and have seen many changes in what we would say in both categories. That said, no matter what... we're still on a cruise!! Knowing that the cruiseline has zero control over the weather is what gets me every time when someone lambasts the cruiseline for missing a port or a delay, etc. due to weather. We're still on a cruise! We have sailed all 4 mass market lines and still say NCL is the best... why? More bang for your buck! Especially in the Haven. I have compared that to other lines and found that the cost of them are sometimes more than double the cost of NCL with similar itineraries and amenities for suites. Lower category cabins.... meh... still more in many cases. That said, we still consider other cruiselines if we have a specific week and / or itinerary we're considering. But, we always come back to NCL. Other lines are making the same changes that NCL has... like you said, it's what is needed to recover from the pandemic. Things will calm down and some of what we have enjoyed in the past will come back. For now... our attitude is the same... We're still on a cruise!!
  5. I thought they said both were removed completely... maybe I read that wrong. Thanks!
  6. I was told that as well... multiple times by multiple people... from NCL Personal Cruise Consultants to former officers that now work at Corporate. One thing to keep in mind: Some people are able to connect to the on-board app while waiting in the terminal and book before they even board. So, trying to get the reservation of choice when they open up for booking really is best.
  7. I already paid for it. And, we are flying in. I'm not comfortable putting wine or champagne in my checked luggage... my luck, they'd break. I ordered this as a surprise for my daughter. This is a special mother-daughter cruise.
  8. Still showing as a gift purchase on the website. I ordered it for my up-coming cruise in August. Hope I didn't just waste $144 on a no-name champagne!!
  9. Ok, I got one for you: SPF. It's on my confirmation for my next cruise in August and was on the last 3 confirmations that I could find from the last few years.
  10. Agree to plan on 1.5 to 2 hrs. But, like others have said... if you let your server know that you are going to a show, they'll do their best to speed things up a bit.
  11. 100% agree!!! Nothing on the planet can match that shrimp!
  12. I usually have gum and hard candies in my purse when I fly (ear pressure issues) and haven't had a problem. But, they are individually wrapped, not sealed. I would think if you have a ziploc bag with you to put the leftover snacks in, it probably won't be an issue.
  13. I believe you took it there... but no matter... you just came off a little snarky... that's all.
  14. Fair enough. Like I said in other posts, I was simply giving a different perspective. For the same reason you mentioned, I will not go into specifics, having had conversations with accounting folks and senior leadership as well. I will just leave it at that and accept the criticism I received from a "friend." Like I said, you and I have had great exchanges on these boards. Sad that it went this direction.
  15. Only trying to give perspective here. People who wish to remove them are constantly harassed and ridiculed on this site (well, of course THAT's obvious!). And, it doesn't matter if NCL is publicly traded or not... "fees" can be directed just about anywhere.
  16. Because I've been told by many NCL employees both on and off the ships
  17. For what it's worth, I've only ever had them removed twice in the 20+ years I've been cruising. Once was because of some safety issues (won't go into detail, but almost went to the hospital). The other is because I had already pre-paid them and they charged me anyway.
  18. SeaShark you and I have been on these boards for years and have interacted with each other with so much fun. For you to say that is hurtful. I have forged a great many friendships with crew and staff of NCL. I know because I've been told... by people who work on and off the ships.
  19. Your opinion of course. But I don't look to get anything special or extra. I have made some really good friends with crew members over the years and like to take good care of them because they work so hard.
  20. Because I know the money from my on board fees don't all go to the people... much of it goes somewhere else.
