  1. But that’s over a year away. Plenty of time for bookings.
  2. Depends on which cruise & how many/which cabin classes are included. For example, my 8/2/24 Istanbul to Athens shows French veranda still at $9K, but my A2 upgrade is $6998. My sister & BIL will upgrade from B4 to PH 2 & still save a few hundred.
  3. This sale is working in my favor: original booking on Vista 8/2/24 Istanbul (fingers crossed) to Athens in Single cabin for $8199, booked during Summer Sale. Switching to A2 for $6998. Cabin 8120 with extended balcony, so get larger cabin, better balcony for less. Yes, decrease in excursion credit, but still $1K savings.
  4. I didn’t say “signs”, just one. Make it a small sign if you wish. From the discussion it sounds like more than a few people hogging or else it wouldn’t be a problem. The key is enforcement. If O can monitor shoes in restaurants they can certainly monitor chairs.
  5. What’s needed is for Oceania to post a large sign that items will be removed from loungers after 30 minutes of non-use, post a staff member to monitor & then enforce. Yes, there will be annoyed entitled idiots, but once everyone realizes there are rules that actually must be observed chair hugging should be less of a problem. Oceania needs to grow some🤞
  6. Mine as well. Part of O’s contract states they’ll provide transport if an embarkation or disembarkation port is changed. I’ve had several replies on a different post from people who’ve experienced that & am hoping I can keep my BC air I booked with cheap points & still see Istanbul for a few days. Right now it’s literally all up in the air.
  7. Dock, I’m on the 8/2 Istanbul to Athens-no change yet. There was a post on our roll call from a person who booked this cruise while on-board last week & was told by the Ambassador it would likely be changed. I’m sure there is a lot of moving parts to change a port, but wish they’d get around to letting us know one way or another.
  8. Just quoting the contract. I’ll keep everyone posted on the outcome when/if Istanbul is replaced. Linda
  9. It’s stated in “4. Carrier’s Discretion, section C”. Nothing about how the air was scheduled. The earlier sections describe O’s rights to change ports of call.
  10. Hi all- I’m booked on Vista 8/2/24 Istanbul to Athens but of course that’s likely to be changed. I’ve already booked BC air with a great deal on points, flying in 3 days early. I could cancel & rebook to the new port but at a more costly rate. O’s contract states: If the scheduled port of embarkation or final destination is changed, We will arrange transportation to the new port from the originally scheduled Has anyone taken advantage of this clause when the embarkation port was changed?
  11. Vista has solo cabins with verandas designated as Concierge. Pricy, but less than paying double for lower levels.
  12. My August 2024 Vista Istanbul to Athens has not changed so far. Hoping it doesn’t, but not holding my breath.
  13. That is so unacceptable that O would decide something you’ve already paid for based on THEIR invoice is not allowed & not even tell you they canceled. If your TA hadn’t requested the wheelchair would you have discovered this trying to get your suddenly nonexistent boarding pass the day prior to your flight? Unbelievable!!!
  14. I’m on 8/24 Istanbul to Athens, haven’t had any change yet. Thought we might be ok since so far out, but maybe not.
  15. I had a similar experience, also involving Allianz, after canceling an O cruise due to my husband’s advanced Alzheimer’s. Turns out they consider dementia to be a “mental condition” & not covered as pre-existing. Within a couple days after filing with CA Dept of Insurance I was notified they would pay since his physician’s letter stated he had a neurological condition. Love your last paragraph PinonNoir. We didn’t get to where we are by being shrinking violets.
  16. Thanks Yesimapirate, but their website is actually privatetourinistanbul.com. I’ve reached out to them regarding my stay prior to 8/2/24 Vista cruise. Linda
  17. I agree that the public spaces in Cotton House are quite beautiful, but our room was like a monk’s cell. Tiny, with a small window high in the wall, shower leaked water all over bathroom floor. We did stay on points, but not upgraded as usual. Huge contrast to Gritti Palace pre-cruise in Venice (also on points) where we we upgraded to a 3 room suite. Wouldn’t stay at Cotton House again.
  18. Thanks for the alert! I admit I hadn’t paid too much attention when I initially booked my Vista Istanbul-Athens cruise for 8/24. O’s charge is $109, Turkey e-visa $50. My TA is having the charge removed & I’ll do the e-visit when the timing works, between 6 months-2 weeks prior to arrival. It all adds up!!
  19. “I felt proud to find a unique dining experience on the highest mountain with the best view of Athens, Greece. The restaurant's name is, Orizontes Lycabettus. This can be a hard reservation to gain and I booked it months ago.” I’m planning Istanbul to Athens on Vista next August & also obsess a bit about scheduling well ahead. I made dinner reservations at this restaurant for 8/15/24 last night after reading your review. Thanks!! Linda
  20. I purchased shares when price tanked to $10 at the beginning of Covid. On Regent I plan to use the OBC for a higher-priced excursion, not on more stuff I really don’t need. It enhances my cruise experience. Since I’m planning 3 cruises over the next 3 years, some with larger payouts, I will end up with 75% ROI with more in the future. Linda
  21. Very friendly O agent is messaging their shore excursions dept regarding the return & will e-mail me their response. I’ll keep y’all posted. He did show Vista departing at 5, which gives an extra hour leeway than schedule I see on-line, so that helps. Linda
  22. I just booked this excursion for our 8/2/24 cruise. I’m a bit concerned about the return since description lists ending at 3:30, when Vista departs at 4. Hoping return is by bus rather than cable car crush, will check with Oceania.
  23. Does the discount for F&W dinners & bottled wine mentioned at bottom of explanation page apply for SM as stated?
  24. Just make sure to click the “Simply More” box on the right to get the discount. Worked for me & my traveling companions, just the invoice glitch showing higher price tho lower was correctly charged.
  25. I’ve always gotten reduced price on-line, including this time. Issue was that their system generated incorrect receipt. Glad correct payment was quickly confirmed & glad to know O was able to fix things for you.
