  1. I live in the US and I don’t recall flying direct there. I think we have usually connected in Florida. You can’t beat the SJ itineraries in the rest of the Caribbean. We have done the route multiple times. The south Caribbean in my opinion has the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean. It is worth the flight!
  2. I’m surprised they don’t for the amount people pay for the upper class suites. It should really be an all inclusive experience. I think the rooms are really nice but for me the perks can be a lot of the draw. When you are spending that kind of money it is for an experience not just extra leg room.
  3. I had a hump on the Voyager. Loved that room. It was huge. It even had a pole in the middle. The balcony was insane. That was years ago. I’ll have to seek out one of these next time I book.
  4. I cancelled a few cruises recently and rebooked others. I did it on Royal’s website. My credits appeared on my cc the same week. I would guess that having the 3rd party involved is what is causing the delay. You need Royal to issue a credit to them and then the TA to you. At least I assume that is how it works but I’m a control freak and haven’t used a TA for a cruise in years.
  5. We have a Thanksgiving cruise booked on royal this year. Given that it is a holiday cruise the price is rather high. We were considering doing NCL instead. I've cruised on Royal a LOT and done some Carnival cruises. I'm curious if the fact that NCL gives the drink package as a booking perk if it is more of a party atmosphere. Don't get me wrong I plan to drink a lot. Just because I'm going to be drunk doesn't mean I want to be surrounded by a bunch of them.
  6. I don't crawl into the pigpen at the farm.
  7. Never understood why people would want to do this. It just sounds disgusting.
  8. I thought the suites were given access to the beach club? I know you can buy access to the beach club but also thought it was included with certain suites.
  9. Also curious where hideaway beach is. I don't see it on the map. Is it near south beach?
  10. I didn't realize you could skip the customs b2b meeting and just get off the ship. I'm doing a b2b in April and the second leg I'll be joined by others. It will be nice to be able to get off the ship and meet them in the morning since they are flying in early.
  11. What would you say are the worst weather months for Coco cay?
  12. I like the private islands. I also noticed they are maximizing this stop. When I looked up the ships for our date it is docked with another. It seems like every day this year has an Oasis and smaller ship docked daily. I agree it can be a nice boon for budget families. Those that have the funds can explore a variety of options to keep it fresh.
  13. I bought Simari water shoes last year for my Hawaii trip and loved them.
  14. So any points are immediately recognized? Good to know… thought I wouldn’t get the tier benefit until next reset.
  15. Curious to hear from solo travelers if they get the key. It isn't something I would normally purchase when traveling with a group. When you consider the included device as a solo it isn't that big of a difference just to get the key. Are the benefits worth it? Is it easy to use? I thought when it first came out you could skip lines to certain things. Is this still the case?
  16. So I haven’t cruised since 2019. I currently have Prime status on Royal. I will be going on a B2B on Oasis in April. Does the status reset mean I will be treated like I’ve never been in the casino? I assume I will have no tier as of April 1st? Anyone have experience with this?
  17. We have stayed here a few times. It is my favorite in Hollywood. They also have a stage on the Broadwalk right outside the hotel that has live bands on Friday and Saturday nights. At least they used to a few years ago.
  18. Does the ship’s Wi-Fi work on these islands?
  19. So I can tell you that I booked a solo trip for April via the casino (only paid port fees and taxes). I purchased insurance via Royal. I called back a week later and added a passenger which I also opted for insurance. The total cabin insurance went down. This was all in the last couple weeks. I don’t think it was a mistake. Just the way they price it.
  20. We also hadn't cruised since 2019. We just booked two cruises for this year. I thought they were outrageous compared to previous pricing. We couldn't even bring ourselves to book a summer one cause the prices were so high. We ended up in spring and over Thanksgiving. The Thanksgiving trip was expensive but at least it is over a holiday. I feel like prices at least in the balconies that we like to book are about 1/3 higher than what we used to pay. For us the flights are also way higher than what we used to pay so that is also a hit to the vacation budget. We cruise with Royal so maybe other lines have better pricing.
